I can’t remember what or who but I heard on a golf podcast that Colonial was on the short list of “rehab starts”. Relatively easy walk, doesn’t reward length as much, and he has a Bluejack development being built nearby.
Man I remember a decade ago my dad would say “I dont think hell catch Niklaus, but hell get to 82 tour wins by accident.” Its crazy how much things have changed since then.

He is such a huge draw and great for the game. I hope he has one more great round in him. Seeing him at Masters would be awesome. He is 50 and had several back surgeries and most recently achilles. His mind tells him to keep going but his body says stop.

I’m not going to be the one to tell Tiger what he should and shouldn’t do, but honestly, it’s in his best interest to go ahead and play in this tournament and then transition into an ambassador role. With Player hitting 90 and Nicklaus ailing quickly, there’s 2 spots for the honorary first tee shot opening. I’m sure Langher and Couples have first dibs (any excuse to watch Couples swing some more), but after that, it’s Faldo and Tiger in terms of living, able-bodied champs with significance.

Can I just say, as much as I would love to see Tiger on Amen Corner late on Sunday at the Masters… there’s no way that happens. You can’t go from no competitive rounds, to the Masters and expect to have any level of success. He hasn’t played competitively in almost 2 years, he either withdrew or missed the cut in 8 of his last 10 full-field events. He wasn’t ready to play at the PNC which even he referred to as a “hit and giggle” tournament.
I want to see him give it one more legit shot. But there’s no way he would be ready in 2 months.
