Zach Thompson details some of his Round 2 best bets on DraftKings Sportsbook for the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am event this week in California.
After an exciting Round 1, the PGA TOUR continues the first Signature Event of the season with the 80 pros and amateurs split between Pebble Beach Golf Links and Spyglass Hill Golf Course for a second exciting day of action. On this slower Friday in the sports world, plenty of attention should be focused on the Monterey Peninsula, with plenty of big names and storylines to track and follow as the tournament continues along the rocky northern California coast.
You can stock your betting card with a wide variety of options from DK Sportsbook at any time throughout the tournament, including everything from single-hole props to full-field finishing positions. This week, I ran down some of my best bets for the entire tournament earlier on Wednesday, and I hit two of my three Round 1 Best Bets.
In this post, we’ll focus on my top three Round 2 best bets.
AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am Round 2 Bets
Andrew Novak U70.5 (-118)
Novak got off to a great start in Round 1, with a bogey-free 65 at Pebble Beach Golf Links. He started the day with five straight pars and picked up a pair of birdies before making the turn. On his second nine, which was the front nine of the course, he had three more birdies and an eagle on the Par-5 sixth.
He will be at Spyglass Hill on Friday, but I think he’ll be able to carry over his momentum and shoot a 70 or better. Coming into the event, Novak had missed two cuts in three events, but in his one made cut, he went 69-69-70-66 in four rounds at Torrey Pines for the Farmers Insurance Open. Like the courses at Pebble Beach, that event utilizes courses that play along the coast, featuring similar course layouts and Poa annua putting surfaces.
He missed the cut in the desert last week, but he looks to be very comfortable back by the ocean this week. Novak showed lots of potential last year, making the cut in 19 of his last 25 events in 2025 and posting high finishes at no-cut Signature Events. He lost in a playoff at the RBC Heritage and finished T17 at the Truist Championship.
Last year at this Signature Event, he finished T13, with three of his four rounds under 70, including a 65 at Spyglass Hill, where he’ll play on Friday.
Hideki Matsuyama (-110) over Viktor Hovland
Matsuyama showed no ill effects of last week’s playoff loss, starting with a five-under-par 67 at Pebble Beach. He’s playing alongside Scottie Scheffler, but he seems very comfortable with all the attention and wasn’t held back by Scottie’s second straight week of Round 1 struggles.
In this matchup, he’s taking on Viktor Hovland. Hovland made his first PGA TOUR start of the season last week, finishing T10 at -12, three strokes behind Matsuyama. The 28-year-old had a rough Round 1 starting bogey, double-bogey, before battling back to a two-under par 70.
Matsuyama has better overall form with top-15 finishes in each of his three events this year. While he hasn’t had as much success in the past in this event, he is more dialed in right now and should be able to best Hovland as both move to Spyglass Hill this Friday.
Tony Finau to finish T10 (including ties) (+194)
While he didn’t come into this event with much momentum, Finau got off to a fast start on Thursday with an eight-under-par 64 that has him T4, two strokes back of first-round leader Ryo Hisatsune.
Like Novak, he did look good at the Farmers Insurance Open two weeks ago, where he finished T11. The correlation seems to be holding for Finau, who made seven birdies and no bogeys in his bogey-free Round 1 at Spyglass Hill.
Finau hasn’t quite cracked the top 10 at this event in the past, but he finished T13 last year after opening 67-67 and finishing with a solid round on Sunday. Saturday was the bad weather day last year, but when conditions have been favorable, Finau has shown he can go low at this layout.
It’s been a while since the 36-year-old has been in contention, but he’s flashing a return to form that makes him an attractive play to stay inside the top 10 over the next three rounds at almost 2:1 odds.
