Alison Lee letting her clubs do the talking in Saudi Arabia

Alison Lee’s week at the PIF Saudi Ladies International has been as unusual as it has been impressive.

Making her first start since November 2025, the two-time LET winner opened the season without her own clubs — after her set was delayed in Amsterdam. For the first two rounds in Riyadh, Lee pieced together a true “mixed bag”: a rental driver and fairway woods, irons and wedges borrowed from the Riyadh Golf Club general manager, and a broomstick putter purchased from the pro shop. She made the cut comfortably with the rentals  and once her clubs finally arrived, she produced her best golf of the week.

Lee fired a 7 under 65 in the third round, to climb to T-4 at 13 under (70 68 65) in the US$5 mn season opener, the richest women’s event outside the majors and the LPGA’s CME finale.

She sits two shots behind co-leaders Hye-Jin Choi and Rio Takeda, tied at 15-under, heading into the final round.

Indians in the field

India’s best challenge has come from 19-year-old Avani Prashanth, who shot 69-71-68 to stand T-22 at 8-under. Avani finished 36th on the LET Order of Merit last season, retaining her card for a second straight year.

Aditi Ashok is T-53 at 4-under, with Pranavi Urs close behind in T-57 at 3-under.

Diksha Dagar and rookie Hitaashee Bakshi missed the halfway cut.
