LIHUE, Hawaii (UNLVRebels.com) – The UNLV men’s golf team used par-or-better rounds from juniors Mason Snyder and Zach Little to stand in a tie for fourth after Thursday’s opening round at the John A. Burns Intercollegiate being hosted by Hawai’i at the Ocean Course at Hokuala (Par 70, 7,098 yards).

REBEL ROUNDUP: Snyder’s team-low 2-under 68 on the day, which included his bogey-free final nine holes, and Little’s even-par 70 seats them in the top 25. On the Scarlet & Gray team leaderboard are Snyder in a tie for sixth, Little in a tie for 21st, senior Trevor Lewis (+1) in a tie for 32nd, senior Wyatt Plattner (+2) in a tie 46th and junior Ryan Abuan (+5) in a tie for 77th. Senior Billy Smith (+3) follows in a tie for 58th as an individual.

LEADERBOARD: The Rebels (+1) will go into the second round tied alongside four other teams looking to close the five-shot gap between them and day-one leader Loyola Marymount (-4). The tight leaderboard also saw Snyder finish his round just two shots back of individual leader Sergio Jimenez (-4) from Utah.

UP NEXT: UNLV tees off in the second round on Friday.
