PALM DESERT, Calif. (February 11, 2026) – Washington State Women’s Golf closed out the Mountain Matchplay Classic with an impressive 4-0-1 victory over Utah Valley at The Classic Club in Palm Desert, Calif. Wednesday afternoon.
 
The Cougars beat Weber State in Monday’s opening round and dropped a decision to Montana State Tuesday.
 
Kaitlyn Helm, Hannah Harrison, Any Cedo and Agnes Brink all recorded wins Wednesday. Helm led the way with five birdies during her win 7&5, Harrison won her match 2&1, Cedo also recorded five birdies including one on No. 18 to clinch her match 1&0 and Brink won her matchup 2&1.
 
Next up for the Cougars is the Westbrook Invitational in Arizona Feb. 22-23.
 
The Course and Tournament Format
The Mountain Classic Match Play is played at The Classic Club in Palm Desert, Calif.
 
The course plays as a par-72 at 6,119 yards.

Each golfer had head-to-head match against an opposing team’s golfer each round. Lineups will be selected by head coaches before each match.

Matches were played out through 18 holes, if needed, with no time limit. No extra holes were played and half points were awarded if the matches end in a tie. If the team matches end in a tie, the tiebreaker will be determined by the largest margin of victory for all matches combined.
