I think you have sub-75 in you this year mate. Things are on the up.
My goal this year is to break 90 as I promise my late brother i will do it and a bottle of Glen whisky will be on the bar of my local golf club
Always look forward to these videos Matt, glad the series is back again this year!
Can't wait for this year's comp videos and fairplay for putting yourself out there Matt 👍
Good luck Matt, love this series
All the best to you Matt 👍.
Good video , you hit to great shots with the driver then we never saw it again , you could have driven a couple of those holes , you need to be a bit more aggressive ( sometimes ) ! Good luck for the year
I think the 3 club challenge your pitching wedge around Green was superb! It’s a shit you should use a bit more!
Those golf shoes…. jees
Like you said Matt need to improve your short game to reach your goal of a win good luck
Nice video Matt and good luck with your quest for the first win! My goal as a 53yo with an old whiplash injury is to get to 5 hcp in 2026 but for now we are stuck indoors waiting for the snow to clear.
great video Matt, looking forward to your journey this year and the series, will you be doing the open qualifier this year ?
LFG! Your best series is back!!!
Way to go Matty 😂😂🎉🎉🎉🎉
Great to see you at my home club……..fantastic birdie on 16 which can be a real card wrecker!
Not to shabby! You were hitting it all over the place……..
Good luck for 2026 Matt! You know we'll be following on the path✌️!
Don't understand the yardages you play. At your age and length, shouldn't you be playing holes that are longer? I'm 70 and play those yardages. Is it the temperature? I'm scratching my head. 😉
See you in Dubai Matt ! Gonna be great week again .. !!
Cheers Matt, good luck this year! Keep up the good work on your mental game, super important, as I know from my own experience on the course.
If I can get my first win against my own brain it will be a miracle.
Good luck Matt. Never heard of this course before (here in the States). Paused the vid and checked out the S&A site. Serious golf here and beautiful club!
Wot? No open qualifying this year? And with the Open being in your own backyard.
Excited for the series!
I want to go from 28hcp to 18 hcp that is my goal; I will play 2 or 3 comps per week to achieve this and hopefully I will
"Oak and iron guard me well, or else I'm dead and doomed to hell." Matty, derive your courage from A knight of the Seven Kingdoms. I assume you are trying Open qualifying again, but didn't hear you mention it?
Good luck Matt! You can do it!
I have a quick question (maybe to the greenkeepers?). What's that foam for that can be seen on the faiways? Is it some kind of fertilizer?
good luck, mate. A word to the wise …do stick with the points you learnt last season regarding the mental side of the game. You seemed to be doing so without thinking (or at least commenting) about it during this round but you weren't really being tested.
Good vid as always Matt, need a caddy for Dubai? For a few lessons there I’ll do it for free at my own expense.
S&A might well have the best greens but when you're probably the best youtube (pga pro) putter out there it really helps! For 2026 goals I'm not sure yet…maybe getting putting down..achieved my goal in 2025, no score worse than a bogey- achieved in Nov at Hampton Court Palace GC, shot 79, +8 based on a 10 handicap containing 4 x 3 putts as well- was buzzin after that round!
Nice work Fella. Especially the last hole! Gonna be a stella year.
Great golf course S and A. Good luck will keep watching
I wont to play better this year
Long par 4 not a par 5 any time of the year
Take it peter finch not playing you got no chance
Matt, I love your videos and your honesty on camera. But you know that its between your ears at your level. You cant use your base on a youtube round around the lovely S&A as you know. Its got to come from tournament conditions. Cant replicate that pal. But you know that!!
S&A, an early Ryder Cup venue, brought back memories of the British Universities Championship I played there in the early 70s! The finish is a lot tougher from the back tees. Room for improvement with the short irons but the putter worked well for you on those excellent greens. Best of luck in the months ahead with your goal for 2026
