Joe is joined by Eddie O’Sullivan to discuss the fallout from France and look ahead to Saturday’s clash with Italy. Eddie explains why he was very surprised by Andy Farrell’s post-match comments on Ireland’s performance and thinks there is scope for both Sam Prendergast and Jack Crowley to start this weekend.

I had no issues with us losing but I wanted to see a performance in defeat and we fell way short on that.
On Faz's post match comments, Eddie clutch those pearls so hard he'll turn them to dust.
Joe , neither you guys nor any of the many other podcasts rugby sites have spoken of our huge efforts to eliminate penalties leading up to this French match . I wonder did this emphasis hold players back in French match ! I think it must have contributed to the “ apparent lack of drive “ critique d by AndyF and all ? Thoughts ?
Take this "Disgruntled Failure" off this Podcast – How dare he comment on "Faz" – Just go away !!!!
Great analysis from Eddie, for once somebody is critiquing Farrell.
"Wales are in the brace position". Joe is some man for having the phrases ready to go 😂
Tadgh beirne and vdf need a rest
Let's introduce edogbo, Izzy this weekend – even on bench
Crowley should start at ten..
Shut up about Sexton. Ireland won the 6nations with Crowley at the helm after Sexton had retired. Crowley should never have been dropped. Let Prendergast learn how to tackle in the URC and have H Byrne on the bench.
I think the game against SA in the autumn seriously damaged Ireland's confidence, something Farrell has no idea on how to fix.
It’s a structural issue, along with a certain natural, ‘relative-strength’, tendency being restored.
England and France lack of consistency in recent years – and the injection of some useful so-called project players – along with 1-2 generational players and foreign world class coach (Faz) – have distorted expectation.
Fun while it lasted.
Let's face it guys, the provinces are providing the players, so that's where the blame lies ??
Ah yes, the full Irish rugby media cycle on display again. When we win, we’re a generational side redefining the game. When we lose to France away from home with key front line players missing, it’s time to drop half the team and question the entire coaching ticket.
The speed at which we go from “best system in the world” to “we’ve been found out” is genuinely impressive.
France at their best do this to teams. They win collisions, turn small errors into tries, and suddenly everything looks catastrophic. That’s elite sport — not evidence that the sky is falling.
The immediate calls make wholesale changes/question Farrell’s post-match comments etc after one loss feels like content more than analysis. It would be refreshing to hear more about ruck speed, exits and tactical adjustments a la Ian Madigans contributions rather than ex coaches with a barely concealed agenda or ill informed journalists (not you Joe!) etc who never played the game yet nonetheless in some cases make calls for this/that player to be dropped or what team they would pick- c’mon, seriously?
Sometimes two very good teams play. One wins. That’s not a national emergency.
