LITCHFIELD PARK, Ariz. – Playing its first competitive rounds of the spring season, the Lehigh women’s golf team carded rounds of 304 and 301 Tuesday on day one of the BGSU Women’s Intercollegiate at the Wigwam Resort. Lehigh’s 36-hole total of 605 has the Mountain Hawks in 10th place out of 15 teams.
Senior Yuki Zhu led the way for the Mountain Hawks Tuesday, shooting 75 and 70 to sit in a tie for 16th place at 145. Zhu led Lehigh in both rounds Tuesday, totaling five birdies among her 36 holes. The second-round 70 is a season low for Zhu.
Sophomore Reese Hannon is tied for 37th place at 152 (77-75). Hannon birdied the par 5 10th hole in both rounds Tuesday and also made an eagle 3 on the par 5 18th hole.
Junior Stefania Fedun shot two rounds of 77 and are tied for 49th place at 154. Fedun made one birdie Tuesday in her first round.
First-year Alisia Ren is tied for 53rd place at 155 (76-79). Ren carded three birdies Tuesday including two in the morning round.
One stroke behind Ren is sophomore Alana Hall, who carded rounds of 76 and 80 and is tied for 56th. Hall made three birdies in her first round 76 and added one more in the afternoon.
UTEP leads the team race at even par 568 (282-286), with the Miners leading UT Arlington by seven strokes.
The individual leader is UTEP’s Atikan Cherdchoo at three under par 139. She leads two players by one stroke.
The BGSU Women’s Intercollegiate concludes Wednesday with the final 18 holes of play.
