Long shot here: Does anyone in the Chicagoland area OR Hilton Head aread have one of those Power Golf Swingless Golf Clubs they'd be willing to rent to me over a weekend in March? Or know how I could find one by then?
My buddies dad has us down for a golf trip every year and he had to get unexpected surgery on his elbow a month before the trip. He's telling us to still come down and he'll just walk the course with us. I thought it'd be nice to grab him one of those swingless golf clubs for the weekend but had no idea they were so expensive. Anybody willing to rent one to me for a weekend? Or know how I could get one for a weekend?
TIA

Post in their local city/community subs. Better chance someone who can help sees it.
There’s a couple smaller golf shops around Bluffton that may be able to help
I feel like the novelty would wear off after about 2 holes, so consider how much you want to pay to rent one. You might want to look for other ideas to integrate him into the day. If you all don’t care too much about your scores, maybe have him rotate through the group as the celebrity putter. If you gamble and play wolf, maybe he is the permanent wolf and gets to call his ‘partner’ on each hole, and if he can chip or putt maybe he can drop with his partner and they finish each hole as a mini-scramble.
Or he may be perfectly happy just walking around with a beer in his hand.
Can he still chip/put with the elbow surgery? Maybe he can just drop a ball once you get close to the green.
How do you control distance with that thing? Isn’t it a .22 caliber bullet?
Was the surgery on his dominant hand?
I had surgery on my left shoulder and now it’s basically permanently dislocated. I golf one handed now. It was pretty difficult at first but became more natural with practice.
You might consider a modified game. Is he able to putt?
Before my son was old enough to hit the ball far, he still liked coming with me. I just put him on the green in regulation and set the ball at the furthest point from the hole. He loved putting and competing, this method actually made it a pretty tight match despite him only being 7 at the time.
Dumb.
