I’ve played in a lot of amateur tournament events and I’m shocked to see this. He must have cleared it before hand but if this is legal everyone should be doing it and that wouldn’t be good for the game.

Wouldn’t this count as testing the playing surface or obfuscate actions that can test it (rubbing with knees, knuckles otw up or down)?
I thought it was 3 points of contact, no?
