The Bicester Town Football Club Golf Society presented £2,250 to ARCh (Assisted Reading for Children in Oxfordshire), which supports 250 children in Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire with reading.

The group aims to raise that number to 1,000 with continued support.

Another £750 was donated to Boobs, a breast cancer charity based in Salisbury.

The society was founded in 1995 and has supported mostly local charities for 30 years.

For the past decade, it has operated as a registered charity club.

The group plays around 10 rounds of golf each year at courses across Oxfordshire and nearby counties, raising funds through an annual Charity Captains Day, prize donations, and year-round raffles.

These raffles are supported by members and staff of the Ashton social club.

Venue selections and charity beneficiaries are chosen by the society’s captain each year.

The society’s long-standing commitment to charity reflects the community spirit of its founders Mick Faulkner, Ted Houllihan, Brian Flannery, Steve Ayala, and Keith Skinner.
