STATESBORO, Ga. – Mississippi State’s four individuals concluded day one of the Thomas Sharkey Individual Collegiate with three players in the top 30.
 
Ben Kelling leads the Bulldogs in a tie for 14th at 4-over for the tournament. He carded an opening round of 1-under 71 that included three birdies and an eagle, matching the best round of his MSU career. 
 
Bryson Hughes and Trip Duke sit tied for 25th after day one at 7-over. Hughes carded a career-best round of 1-under 71 in his first time through the course. Sitting at 1-over through his first 11 holes, he strung together three birdies to complete the round in red figures. Duke carded four birdies en route to an opening 74, tying the best round of his season.
 
Jackson Cook rounds out the State contingent in a tie for 44th. He played steady golf in the second round to mark the best round of his State career with an even-par 72.
 
State will conclude the Thomas Sharkey tomorrow morning with a 7:30 a.m. CT shotgun start. Live results are available on SCOREBOARD.
