A couple of days ago, I played with my friend Nash who carries a +2.4 index. By my standards (I play off 6.8), I had a great day, shooting 75. [I uploaded that round here](https://v.redd.it/ixzrdowj2whg1).

Nash did not have a great front 9 by his standards – I was actually 1-over to his 2-over thru 9. But he found it on the back 9, dropping 5 birdies to shoot a 68. If it weren’t for a few lip outs (including one on a temp green), he could have carded a sub-30 back 9.

I find it a treat to watch him play. Hope you enjoy!

Playing with great golfers is such a treat. It usually helps me forget my game for the day cause I’m in such awe haha.

Miss the YouTube uploads of your rounds! Good stuff and an amazing round from Nash.

You’re telling me a +2 Handicap drives the ball 230?

He looks to have such a repeatable swing. So smooth

that quack for the 2nd after he’s like “I’ll play a 180 club, softer greens, should be fine” was funny

4 birdies in the last 5 is dialed the ***k in

Keep doing your thing I enjoy the content. What’s going on with Wadda playa you two have good synergy.

He seems to be going a little to the right. Did you tell him to aim more left?

    My thoughts:

He doesn’t drive very far off the tee (average 240ish), but hits it straight and predictably. Never in a bad position for his second shot. He also started hitting a bit longer with a bit more draw on the back (lots of 230y drives on the front and 250y drives on the back).

His irons are very, very accurate. Seems to always hit his target from about 170 and in. Nearly got a HIO from 186 with his 5i. I was very impressed with this part of his game.

Uses his lob wedge for nearly every short game shot. Seems to be his go-to club around the greens. Also an impressive part of his game.

It looks like he was over-reading the greens on the front nine and made an adjustment on the back nine. 4 straight birdies to end the round is incredible.

To apply to my game which is kind of similar but not nearly as good or consistent (6-8 handicap according to Grint, long-ish driver ~270y, accurate with irons), I need to hit more fairways and get better around the green. I’ll lose maybe 1 or 2 balls a round, and those almost always turn into bogey or worse holes. And my short game is sometimes great, but I’ll just randomly chunk one every now and then. All in the details I guess.

Thanks for uploading, this was really fun to watch!

Man I just envy the consistency of the driver. Smooth swing, fairways, no dispersion… second shot always being taken with a great opportunity.

Fun to watch minus the sound effects

I’ve always wanted to ask you this question as it seems this is NASG…

Since your brand is to “play your swing” and take simple, more obvious steps to improve slightly… what is your goal in golf? You must understand that where you swing is at, distance, consistency, etc… that your odds of a drastic improvement in your handicap are low.

Is your goal to just go out and enjoy golf with the best you’ve got while making small adjustments to the thought process? (Which would make sense. I know your story and what golf has meant to you given the illness you had)

Do you hope to improve a lot and get to a scratch some day?

I do wonder about the message getting stale at some point or how the channel evolves.

This is a good example of how you don’t need to be a big hitter to score well. Most drives around 250 and often an iron off the tee. Great round.

What do you use for shot tracing?
