Alberto Del Rio case remind me of R&B singer/songwriter Robin Thicke in some point, Both have a talented in their own right and make their own path very good but their character and look always look like Nepobaby Jerk that gonna screwed their career sooner or later.
On the other hand, Juventud Guerrera avoid being called as Nepotism completely despite his legal issues back in the day even worse than Del Rio (Silver King even passed away in a match with Juventud)
But everyone still enjoyed telling a stories about Juvi, Especially Konnan that always have love-hate relationship with him.

While probably very low on the ladder of nepo babies, I would absolutely put my vote towards Ryan Nemeth. A guy who really does only seem to get any sort of notable work because of who his brother is.
Mind you I am a little biased. I did effectively inspire, and join in on, a "NEPO BABY! [clap, clap, clap-clap-clap]" chant directed at him when he came to Australia on a tour a few years back with his brother.
Best thing about Del Rio is him getting domed by Cro Cop in Pride, could watch that shit on repeat

It's amazing that Del Rio outside of his look and height has nothing. He wasn't a good talker, he was an average worker, he was a scummy egomaniac. Can't believe he was employed for so long in the WWE given how badly he seemed to be disliked by fans and people in general.

This was a very interesting video to watch. Outside of Horace and Del Rio i didnÂŽt know any of the wrestlers though i think now mentioned i vaquely remember Scott Putski in WCW but i was a kid back then and itÂŽs been almost 20 years.
The thought of the lying Orange Goblin negotiating with Mr. Liar and his Yakuza mates / loan sharks to get his nephew and his nephew's cousin contracts with FMW is surreal.
No wonder WCW went bankrupt.
It's a pity Scott Putski never got a cartoon gimmick in early-to-mid 1990s WWF. He might have had a decent run.
Back in 2012, I wrote into Power Slam magazine (the forerunner of Inside The Ropes) and had a letter suggesting that WWE turn Alberto Del Rio babyface because he had totally been buried as a heel for the previous twelve months by Punk and Sheamus. Someone high up at the WWE must have read my letter in that month's issue because within weeks, not only had Del Rio turned face, he also won the World Title off of a then-red-hot Big Show. Del Rio was actually getting over as a face until Vince lost interest and turned him back heel the night after WrestleMania 29.
Also around that time, I was posting a fantasy wrestling promotion on the message board Strong Style Symphony. The heel champion was a character based on both myself and Bret Hart circa 1997. Also within weeks, WWE re-debuted Jack Swagger with Dutch Mantel / Zeb Colter as his manager and a proto-MAGA heel persona that was a piss-poor rip-off of my top heel. Ironically enough Swagger was feuding with Del Rio over the World Title at this time.

Horace's best run was his FMW run.
If Horace's name wasn't Hogan and he had the exact career he ended up having, nobody would complain about him. Some may even consider him underrated, or wasted by WCW.
In the end, Hulk did right by Horace, giving him a job with WCW and never really overpushing him.
Kim, what about Lance von Erich next time as an example of a fake nepo baby?
I'll die on the "Cody Rhodes is the worst nepo baby ever" hill. Why is he the worst? Because he's been led to believe that he's an elite (no pun intended) pro wrestler on par with Austin and Rock. Erik Watts, Garrett Bischoff, Greg Gagne… those guys didn't go an entire year where they mentioned their father in EVERY SINGLE PROMO they cut. The reality is that he's an average wrestler working for a soulless company that now has fewer eyes on it than at its (previously) lowest point in 1995. He sucked when he was doing the "WWE won't give me my name so I'm just Cody" bomber jacket gimmick. He REALLY sucked in AEW when he was Triple H-lite with the baby announcements and dog shows. Come to think of it, the only time when he was watchable was when he was doing the Undashing gimmick that Vince gave him.

Are there any wrestlers that are the opposite of nepo babies? Like the Michael Jacksons and Brian Wilsons of the wrestling world? Meaning, people who had fathers that werenât particularly notable in the same field, so the kids were pushed to be stars in their place.
Hijo de Santo needs his own video regarding his downfall; for the record, he was a draw but kept burning bridges with his ego; first with CMLL for pay, then with AAA that led to a lawsuit where AAA demaded he unmask himself to prove he was the same man suing them. He still did well enough to retire on his terms with his own indie show, but it wasn't as grand as Cena or Tanahashi's retirement shows and everyone agrees if he wasn't so difficult, he could have bowed out with more honor.
When Horace debuted in Raven's Flock with the STOP sign and used it often as if it were a signature of his, commentators had not mentioned his ring name for a time, so I figured his name was "STOP!"
I find LEONA Fujinami an interesting case where he's "just one of the boys like everyone else" despite being the promoter's kid and that's okay.
This was a nice and quite different take on the nepo subject from the previous vid.
Itâs a shame that Scott Putski wasnât good in the ring he had the look and athleticism. Compared to most of these failed nepo babies he looks incredibly strong.

I know Horace is not the most popular wrestler but unlike Alberto, he is a decent human being. Thank you for highlighting Horace's run in FMW. I've been meaning to look into his matches in Japan and that 6 man tag team bout looks great. I am going to look for it as soon as possible

Horace Hogan was actually a happening indie wrestler in about 1991. He even got an Introducing piece in PWI's sister publication The Wrestler if you recall.

Ah yes, Dos Caras Jr/Alberto Del RĂo/El PatrĂłn…. The Latino counterpart of Austin Aries, both are gifted performers but some of the most unbearable/insufferable divas both in and off the ring However Del Rio has a slight up over Aries because of all the sh*t with Paige and his many, many, many, many, arrests
I'd say the most tragic two sons who were pushed too hard were both Von Erich's beyond David Kerry and Kevin there were the other brothers Mike who almost died from an injury and saddest of all the youngest Chris Von Erich who like Mike had a brittle bone condition…. Really like Kerry's suicide it might make for a tear jerker of a video as just seeing the state of Mike after his hospital visit I really don't understand what was going through Fritz head to push all his sons to be in the ring when physically they weren't capable. The film version especially kept Chris out of the picture for the Bio Pic about the Von Erich's the Iron Claw as his life was the most tragic as he died like Kerry but at a shockingly young age 21 as he was unable to take the injuries or the pressure for his almost sociopathic father
Really Horice Hogan's best work was in FMW in Japan
Man, I feel so bad for Horace Hogan. Losing his parents then Mike and most recently his uncle. His FMW run is perfect for him, Hardcore and he looked like his run there was good. His wcw run was forgettable but his debut was really subdued. He didn't debut with his late uncle and instead debut as one of Raven's flock members which is neat all things considered and i think that would've been his place to stay on the card but that didn't happen and he soon went to his uncle's NWO stable.
