An indoor crazy golf centre with an underwater theme has announced it will be closing down due to “rising costs”.
Octoputts, located on the Hardwick retail park, opened at the end of 2023, offering a completely different leisure venue for the area.
However, the business announced that it has made the “difficult decision” to close its doors for the final time on Sunday, February 22.

The owners of Octoputts cited rising costs and business rates as some of the reasons for its decisions to close, and have stressed that the nearby Little Sharks play centre remains open.
In a social media post, a spokesperson from Octoputts said: “This has been an incredibly difficult decision for our team and for the family behind Oceanus Leisure, and not one that has been made lightly.
“Since welcoming you through our doors in October 2023, we have been truly blown away by the support you have shown us.

“Seeing families, friends and visitors enjoy our underwater themed venue, celebrate birthdays and create lasting memories has meant the world to us.
“We are deeply grateful to every guest who played, laughed and supported our vision. A heartfelt thank you also goes out to the amazing vendors and businesses who helped us create something truly unique.”
Octoputts faced difficulty in 2024 getting planning permission from West Norfolk Council, following concerns it would draw people away from the town centre.
The business added that business rates imposed by the Government “made it difficult to continue in a sustainable way”.

“These pressures have intensified to the point where continuing is no longer viable, and we have sadly been forced to bring us to a close,” the spokesperson added.
All pre-booked events and parties up to Octoputt’s closing date will be honoured, and those with gift vouchers have been asked to get in touch.
