It’s honestly just rude as fuck to fellow competitors. There’s always been an unwritten rule that you don’t walk around the hole unless you need to. Now all these aimpoint nerds & their caddies are taking forever and walking all over the hole. I could see the tour do what they did with green reading books & start to restrict this stuff. Maybe like “No aimpoint when within a flag length of the cup”.

Caddies should not be allowed to aid their player in reading the greens or lining them up. Straddling the line should not be allowed.
