Just an honest fitter right there

Good fitter, but ouch lol

I mean, when a guy is paid to sell you a club isn’t willing to sell you a club because that’s not what you need. You should probably listen. The amount of people who freak out when somebody recommends lessons on this sub should cause everybody to realize that nobody’s actually interested in getting better they’re interested in being told that something other than themselves can actually fix their golf problems.

Wow, good on the fitter. Hope your buddy remembers him/goes back to him when it’s time. He should be able to get 300+ total out of a 115+ swing speed if he can find the clubface and not spin it off the planet.

Curious what his HCP is, if he has one.

Was this at Sub 70 by any chance?

I had a similar experience about a year ago. Was heel sticking my driver so badly I couldn’t get it beyond 230/40, which I could get with my 3W so the guy wouldn’t sell me a club. Told me to go get lessons.
Which I did. Which didn’t help much. The pro he gave me a card for recorded my swing l, spent about an hour with me and said he would put some analysis and stuff together. Never heard from him again. The reason i was getting a fitting was my original driver cracked, so at this point i had no driver at all!
So I just bought a second hand one off the t’interwebs to practice with, try to stop heel striking before I go back into that whole process again.

Yeah lessons is the number one thing to get. Being in a consistent ball striker is probably the number one thing to do before you get fitted for clubs
