Georgia women’s golf had a powerful opening spring season tournament over the past few days, securing fourth place at the FAU Paradise Invitational with a team finish at 4-over par. The finish came after a long break in tournament play following the Bulldog’s win at The Robbie in November.
The tournament was held at Osprey Point Golf Course in Boca Raton, Florida, with a competitive field. The course played longer than usual, spanning 6,204 yards over the 18 holes.
Georgia opened Round 1 at 5-over par, sitting third in the 16-team field.
Junior Karoline Tuttle was tuned in, shooting 3-under par and tied for first overall.
Round 2 was more thrilling, with three of the Bulldogs shooting scores in red, holding the third-place team finish.
The round marked the collegiate debuts of multiple Georgia freshmen.
Freshmen Gabriella Albert and Trinity Beth, a November signee, both made their first collegiate appearances at the tournament.
Albert led Georgia to end Round 2 with a 2-under par four-birdie round and Beth with a 1-under par finish. The team finished the day at 2-under par.
Beth proved herself once again, leading the team in scoring for the third and final round with a 2-under par scorecard for the day.
Sophomore Sydney Givens rounded out her consistent tournament performance with a 1-under par day.
Tuttle managed a top-10 finish at seventh place individually among her rounds of 69, 71 and 74.
The tournament was a test of age for the Bulldogs, showing that their roster is young, but nonetheless capable of posting experienced scores.
The Bulldogs’ next appearance will be at the Westbrook Invitational in Peoria, Arizona, from Feb. 22 to Feb. 23.
