LIV Golf returns for a new season and that means players will be competing for significant financial rewards.The 2026 edition, which you can watch and live stream on TNT Sports and discovery+, has a purse of $10 million (£7.3m) for the top three players – but a lot more will be earned before we get to the trophy-lifting stage.The likes of Jon Rahm, Cameron Smith, Dustin Johnson, Bryson DeChambeau and Anthony Kim will hope for more success as the season opens in Riyadh.What is the prize money per event?

There will be 14 events in the 2026 LIV Golf season and the winner of each will take home $4m (£2.9m), as well as earning 200 points in the standings.

There is $2.3m (£1.7m) and 113 points on offer for the runner-up, plus $1.5m (£1.1m) and 75 points for finishing third. Fourth place has a reward of $1m (£730,000).

Remarkably, even finishing last in the 54-player events comes with prize money of $50,000 (£36,000).

What is the newly-created weekly purse?

LIV Golf have set aside $2.3m (£1.7m) for a new weekly purse that will be awarded to an “individual earned via team”.

The money will be allocated to players on the top three teams at each tournament, with payouts of $1m (730,000), $800,000 (£583,000) and $500,000 (£364,000).

Team captains can allocate the bonus money to a player of their choice, meaning additional incentives are on offer.

What is the individual championship bonus prize money?

The winner of the individual championship this season will receive $6m (£4.4m), down from $18m (£13.1m) last year.

Rahm took the title for the second successive year in 2025, but LIV Golf have opted to cut their prize money offerings for 2026.

The runner-up this year will pocket $3m (£2.2m), down from $8m (£5.8m), while third place will receive $1m (£730,000), down from $4m (£2.9m).

What is the team championship bonus prize money?

The team championship prize money has also decreased from 2025, though there are still huge sums on the line.

Rahm’s Legion XIII won last year to take the $14m (£10.2m) reward, but this year that total is reduced to $11.2m (£8.2m).

The second-placed team will get $6.5m (£4.7m), while there is $4.8m (£3.5m) for third, $3.2m (£2.3m) for fourth and $2.6m (£1.9m) for fifth.

Even the 13th-placed team will take home prize money of $480,000 (£350,000).

Who was last year’s biggest prize winner?

Rahm took home the most money from the 2025 LIV Golf season, earning a total of $33m (£24m) with $13.6m (£9.9m) in prize money and $19.4m (£14.1m) in bonuses.

Then came Chilean Joaquin Niemann, who earned a combined $30.5m (£22.2m): that came from $22.2m (£16.2m) in prize money – the most of any player – and $8.3m (£6m) in bonuses.

Next up was DeChambeau, whose total earnings came in at $15.1m (£11m), followed by Dean Burmester on $10.4m (£7.5m), Sebastian Munoz on $10m (£7.3m), and Talor Gooch on $9.1m (£6.6m).

Who has the biggest contract in LIV Golf?

Rahm has the biggest contract in LIV Golf, worth a reported $300m (£218.8m).

Phil Mickelson, who will miss the first two events of the season, is the next highest, with a contract reportedly worth $200m (£145.6m).
