We have found a home that we love that but my biggest issue is the tee box is behind the backyard. I’m not a golfer so I am not familiar with if this would be an annoyance and if the house has a high chance of getting hit? I appreciate any feedback and/or experience anyone has with this.

Is this located in Shanksville by chance?
I should add some context that this is a 9 hole public course.
Get a real good look at the deck and siding for dents and damage, I bet you find some
You’re going to get hit with balls from time to time and you’ll likely be hearing people most of the day on and off with occasional drunks with zero volume control. You’ll have zero privacy for most of the day in your yard it looks like.
Potential ball through your window and definite lack of privacy during the day
Where is the green? It’s hard to tell which way golfers are hitting in this image. That will make or break the chance of getting hit here.
Yeah I would expect the house to get hit with balls. I’d honestly be just as concerned with the noise. Expect to hear people screaming, cheering, and walking through your yard.
If you value privacy during daylight hours, I would not purchase.
I’m more curious about the zero windows on that side of the house.
I am a golfer and also worked maintenance at a golf course in high school. I haven’t seen anyone mention that that tee box will be mowed daily during the season at like 5am. We used to get complaints from homeowners, they never thought about it before purchasing a home on a course.
So it looks like that tree is between the house and the front like third of the tee box and the back half of the tee box is like 50 yards from the house, yeah?
You’re not getting hit frequently… but not never either. How long is the hole? The view from the deck and from the tee box is also kinda important
At least you’re not 50 yards down on the left side.
Better than the green…
I once saw a guy hit a tee shot that went exactly backwards through his legs and hit the flagpole behind him.
Don’t do it, early mowing every day and contain “PING.. F**K” are the two major reasons I can think of.
Somewhat unrelated, but please also look into the recent data that was published regarding proximity to golf courses and the increased risk of Parkinson’s Disease due to use of pesticides on golf courses. It’s something I wish I had known sooner!
Buy a big net
I wouldn’t normally worry about balls by a teebox, but that is REALLY close.
I’d worry about noise pollution from mowers, the ‘ping’ of a golf club, and noisy people.
I didn’t read all the comments, and I am not scientist but golf courses use some harsh ass chemicals to treat their property. That shit is definitely gonna effect your lawn/home in some way or another. Not in a spot to pull the source but I’ve also read that if you live relatively close to a golf course the odds of you getting cancer it’s like a shit on higher than someone who’s not close to a golf course. That would be my main concern aside for all the fucking noise.
I live on a golf course and close to a tee box. Had 2 balls in my yard. You would have to be an exceptionally bad golfer to his my house, and even worse to hit yours. So generally has not been an issue. There are golfers teeing off throighout the day, and maintenance is out there often mowing and pruning regularly. I am about 100 yards away from the tee box so sound os not teally an issue. Your house looks extremely close so I would expect mowing to be louder. One thing to think about is which tee box is that? If that is the front tees and you have 2-3 tee boxes behind it then likely most folks will be teeing off from the tee boxes behind and more chance of hitting your house.
Ask you agent to get information from the sellers on these issue, amd go knock on the doors of the homes next door and ask the neighbors
i do want to also add this:

Living near a golf course can lead to long term exposure of pesticides and various chemicals. 100% would not buy or live there, and I love golf.
Before you buy a place close to a golf course. Read this study. https://jamanetwork.com/journals/jamanetworkopen/fullarticle/2833716
TLDR: the closer you are to a golf course, the higher probability you will get Parkinson’s disease due to the high levels of pesticides used at the course
Better to live at the tee box than the collection area.
Better near the tee box than the green. A lot less incoming artillery. If you’re not a golfer, you might not want to put up with stupid golfers. There’s a fair number of us that are real dicks.
You found a house you like AND it’s on a golf course? Lucky bastard.
I hope you like hearing people shout the F word.
Never touch a property 150m from the tee box.
Hell, I would be playing some free holes when the club closes lol.
Shanks for the memories.
