SPICEWOOD, Texas (February 3, 2026) — Lubbock Christian University wrapped up its first tournament of the spring portion of the 2025–26 season Tuesday with a sixth-place finish at the Jack Brown Memorial Invitational, hosted by Texas A&M International at Lakecliff Golf Club.
The Lady Chaps turned in a second-round team score of 298 (+14), improving by 20 strokes from Monday’s opening round and closing the two-day, 36-hole event at 616 (+46). LCU finished just one stroke behind fifth-place Cameron in a tightly contested field that featured 10 teams. Blinn College claimed the team title at 585 (-3), followed by Angelo State A and host Texas A&M International, which tied for second at 604 (+36).
Senior Ali Escamilla led LCU for the tournament, carding a final-round 78 (+7) to finish at 150 (+8), securing a ninth-place individual finish in a field of more than 55 competitors. The result marked Escamilla’s eighth top-10 finish of her LCU career and capped another steady performance as she posted the Lady Chaps’ lowest two-round total.
Freshman Nadalie Cannell delivered one of the highlights of the day for LCU, firing a second-round 71 (E) — the best round of her young collegiate career — to climb into a tie for 14th at 152 (+10). Cannell’s round tied for the seventh-lowest single-round score in program history, a mark previously reached this season by Escamilla and Anaya Perales during fall competition.
Perales followed with a strong closing round of 75 (+4), finishing the tournament tied for 22nd at 156 (+14). Her second-round score capped a consistent week and further reinforced LCU’s depth within its lineup.
Freshmen Abby Archunde and Hailey Hays each carded rounds of 76 (+5) on Tuesday, tying for 33rd overall at 160 (+18). Archunde continued her transition into the Lady Chaps’ lineup after spending the fall portion of the season at UT Permian Basin, while Hays posted a five-shot improvement from her opening round.
Two LCU golfers competed unattached in the event. Freshman Kilee Ivy closed with a 92 (+21) to finish at 181 (+39), while junior Maryona Lusk posted a 91 (+20) in the final round to complete the tournament at 185 (+43). Both gained valuable tournament experience competing independently from the team scoring lineup.
The Jack Brown Memorial Invitational marked LCU’s first competition of the spring schedule, as the Lady Chaps showed significant improvement over the final 18 holes.
LCU will return to action Feb. 23–24 at the Rattler Invitational, hosted in San Antonio at The Dominion Country Club, as the Lady Chaps continue their push through the spring championship season.
