Watch: Brooks Koepka on his love of golf after returning to PGA Tour
Brooks Koepka played his first round on the PGA Tour in four years on Thursday at the 2026 Farmers Insurance Open and talked about his return.
A 21-year-old Tiger Woods made an iconic hole-in-one at the 1997 Phoenix Open that will forever be a major part of his highlight reel.
Woods came into the tournament having achieved three PGA Tour wins. He did not end up winning the ’97 Phoenix Open, as Steve Jones took home the crown, but Woods did record the legendary hole-in-one.
It was his second hole-in-one for Woods on the PGA Tour, as he had one the prior year during the 1996 Greater Milwaukee Open. He had another hole-in-one on the PGA Tour in 1998 during the Sprint International up in Colorado.
Woods’ 9-iron beauty at the 1997 Phoenix Open is one of 20 total holes-in-one that Woods has hit. The 162-yard shot set off a circus of beer cans and cups, both full and empty. Leave it to Woods to deliver as special a statement as his hole-in-one was, 10 years after the Phoenix Open moved to TPC Scottsdale.
