THIS WEEK
The North Dakota State women’s golf team will tee off its spring season out west at the Soboba Springs Classic. Hosted by Fresno State, the tournament will take place at the Soboba Springs Golf Course in San Jacinto, California, on February 4-6.
TOURNAMENT SCHEDULE
The Soboba Springs Classic is a 54-hole tournament played over three days. One round will be played each day of the event, with tee times slated for 9 a.m. PT/11 a.m. CT each day.

TOURNAMENT FIELD
The Soboba Springs Classic will host ten teams in the competition. Along with the Bison, the field includes CSU Bakersfield, CSU Northridge, Eastern Washington, Southern Utah, UC Riverside, University of British Columbia, Utah Tech, and Utah Valley.
THE COURSE
Located just outside the foothills of the San Jacinto Mountains, the Soboba Springs Golf Course is home to a renowned 18-hole course. Originally opening in 1966, the scenic course highlights spectacular mountain backdrops and unique water features throughout the entire course. The Desmond Muirhead designed course is known for its challenging Hole 3 and Hole 7, as well as cascading waterfalls and white sand bunkers flowing through all 18 holes. The par-72 course spans a yardage of 7,339 from the back tees and is a part of the 200 acres belonging to the Soboba Casino and Resort. Along with the Soboba Springs Classic, the course frequently hosts tournaments of all skill levels, including the annual Soboba Charity Tournament, and being an annual U.S. Women’s Open Qualifying site for the USGA.
BISON AT THE SOBOBA SPRINGS CLASSIC
NDSU will compete at the Soboba Springs Classic for the first time in 2026. This is the second iteration of the event, with UC Riverside hosting the tournament for the first time at the Soboba Casino and Resort in 2025. This will be the first time that Fresno State hosts the competition.
LAST TIME OUT
The Bison are opening the spring portion of the season following a top-five finish at The Clash at Boulder Creek in late October. Madi Hicks and Hannah Dunk tied for the position of top placing Bison at the event, both finishing with a 54-hole score of 217 (+1) in a tie for 22nd in the 108 golfer field. This was the best result for the season for both Hicks and Dunk, with Dunk matching her NDSU career-best 54-hole score and Hicks improving her season best score by nine strokes.
BISON COMPETING
NDSU will send six golfers to California for the 5-score-4 tournament. The Bison competing include Madi Hicks, Norah Roberts, Hannah Dunk, Cora Larson, Avery Bartels, Jeri Lafleche, who will be competing as an individual.

– Madi Hicks heads into the spring season after being named to the Summit League Golfers to Watch list. Hicks currently leads the Bison with the lowest scoring average, sitting at 75.00 through 14 rounds. The Victoria, Minn. native has posted one top-five finish the season and holds the lowest 54-hole score for the Bison this season of 217.
– Norah Roberts will make her 28th consecutive start for the Bison, not missing a tournament in her two-and-a-half years on the team. Roberts currently holds an average of 75.36 through 14 rounds this season, with a team-high three rounds of par or better this fall.
– Hannah Dunk starts off the spring season following a NDSU career-best performance to close out the fall season. The junior recorded a team high 27 holes at par through the first two rounds at The Clash at Boulder Creek to log back-to-back rounds of par or better.
LOOKING AHEAD
Following the Soboba Springs Classic, the Bison will have two weeks off before returning to action on the east coast. NDSU will continue their spring season at the El Campeon Collegiate, hosted by Lehigh at the Mission Inn Resort in Howie-In-The-Hills, Florida, on February 23-24.
