Alabama golfers don’t have to travel far to find a course worthy of national praise. Golf Pass has released its Top 50 Public Golf Courses in the U.S. for 2026, and one Alabama course has joined the rankings.
Unlike traditional rankings, this list was built by everyday players, Alabama locals and travelers alike, who share honest reviews about the courses they love.
Golf Pass collected more than 226,000 reviews of roughly 7,500 courses and indoor simulators worldwide in 2025 alone. For its Top 50 Public course list, Golf Pass considered only courses open to the public. Rankings are based on multiple factors that golfers care about, including:

Sylacauga’s FarmLinks at Pursell Farms ranked No. 50 on the Golf Pass list. Golf Pass praised the course for its challenging layout, well-maintained greens and friendly, accommodating staff.
“Don’t miss it. This is a gem of a golf course,” one reviewer wrote. “The layout is equal to any of the big-time courses I’ve ever played.”
Golf Pass also highlighted two unique features of FarmLinks: a signature drop-shot par 3 and the use of multiple grass types on the course, which superintendents test as part of the facility’s grass-incubation program.
