I thought I’d share some pictures of the shed I built this past year for a golf simulator. I started in May and finished just before Christmas, so it took me about 7 months.

I had an old shed in this spot that I tore down and then built this new shed on the concrete pad that was already there. I did everything myself except for decking/shingling the roof and doing the actual electric hook up to my house panel. I buried an Ethernet cable to the shed and set up a wireless access point.

I was fortunate to find someone selling the Carl’s enclosure, screen, projector(Optoma eh412st), and hitting mat on marketplace. Its amazing how perfect the enclosure fit. I ended up buying a Carl’s mat after I was done.

Anyway, maybe someone will get something out of this and I will enjoy sharing. I’ll try to answer any questions anybody has. It was really a great experience building it and super rewarding now that’s it’s finished and I can enjoy it!

I’m so glad you posted this, thanks for sharing! What is the footprint of your shed? I’ve been thinking about 24’x16′

What’s the interior wall sheathing? Nice look, 4×8 sheets?

Was the shed a kit? If so, can you share where you got it? Also, what was the approximate price for the shed, not including the sim?

I recently moved from a home that had space for my sim. I have all the parts, just no space! I’ve been considering doing something very similar. Thank you for sharing!

This is really very cool. Nice work. Are you a builder or just super handy with tools?

  6. That looks awesome. I don’t mean anything by it at all (because that thing is sweet) but why not go a couple extra feet on each side. Not sure how much that would raise the total cost but feels like it would make it a little more comfortable. Either way nice work.

Do you have to worry about mold using fiberglass insulation on the ceiling or did you put a vent in the top? I have a similar shed that I want to insulate and a contractor was telling me that I either needed a vent on top or spray foam.

OP if you wanted to add a lounge area with a couch or small bar behind the hitting mat, how much do you think you’d need to extend the shed?

Dude how did you dig that conduit trench ?

Did you use a trencher ? I’m gonna need to make a trench like this in the future to run an EV charging cable.
