I specialise in golf lessons, golf club news and other entertaining golf content.

This was the format in a team comp recently at my home club Southport & Ainsdale…….we won and my selection was 7w, 8 iron, 54 degree and putter
The operator chose your clubs? Did I understand correctly? Acorn or pine cone ?

I’d go Driver, 6 or 7 hybrid and 48 degree wedge. Which Golf ball do you play?
We used to play this format once a year at Hounslow Heath. Our record keeper said you could never see any difference in the scores compared to the other 51 weeks of the year.
Done this a few times. 3H, 7i, GW. Shot pretty much my handicap each time. Tells you all you need to know about the rest of my game!!
3 Wood, 7 Iron and 50 degree Wedge, and I shot the same score.

you are a lucky golfer. I played Formby last fall and if I could only play one course for the rest of my golfing life it would be there. I played with rentals from the pro shop. It was drizzling at one, pouring at nine. I'm from SoCal where it doesn't rain so I had so much fun. if I ever get another chance I'm there.

Formby is amazingly beautiful. If I ever get to visit the UK again, I am going to try to visit it.

The absolute best thing that could happen to the game of golf for lots of reasons including accessibility would be maximum clubs in the bag to reduce from 14 to 6

All these videos are boring and just excuses of bad golf – would have should have – it’s a hard watch since last 10 months – soooo much theory and nothing gosh
My favourite club competition was always the 3 Club Annual Championship. Just so much fun and the scores were surprisingly good compared to what was expected. 5 hybrid, 8 iron and putter.

We played a four club challenge in the Seniors this year. I used pw, putter, 3 wood and 7 iron and had one of the best rounds of the season. Just goes to show you don't need loads of expensive gear to play golf.
