PALOS VERDES ESTATE, Calif. – The No. 23 UCLA women’s golf team (-2, 566) holds an eight-shot buffer on the 16-team field after round two of the Therese Hession Regional Challenge at Palos Verdes Golf Club. The Bruins followed yesterday’s stellar round by shooting the third-lowest score on Monday with an even-par 284.
Sophomore Jenny Lee (-4, 138) rose two spots into first place after shooting a second consecutive 2-under 69. Lee, who started on hole 10, went bogey free with three birdies over her first nine holes. She holds a one-stroke lead on Texas’ Farah O’Keefe (-3, 139).
Sophomore Angela Liu (-2, 140) matched Lee with a -2, 69 of her own to climb four spots into third place.
Freshman Kacey Ly (+1, 143) was the Bruins’ biggest riser on day two with a 28-spot improvement into T-8th. Ly notched the lowest score of her young career with another -2, 69. She shot -4 without a bogey over her final 10 holes.
UCLA tees off in a shotgun start for the final round of the Therese Hession Regional Challenge on Tuesday. All six Bruins, including individual competitor Jennifer Seo, will tee off on hole 10. Seo tees off first in at 10 a.m. (PT). Lee will tee off last at 11 a.m. Fans can follow along with this live scoring link.

Women’s Golf Leads Field After Day One in Palos Verdes

UCLA is in first place after shooting a -2, 282 in the first round of the Therese Hession Regional Challenge at Palos Verdes Golf Club on Sunday.
The Bruins, who are playing in their first tournament-style event of 2026, were the only program in the 16-team field to finish under par on day one. They hold a four-shot lead on No. 7 Texas A&M (+2, 286).
Four golfers in UCLA’s lineup – Jenny Lee, Angela Liu, Meghan Royal and GaEun Athena Yoo – are situated in the top-10. Lee is positioned in third place in the field of 88 after recording a -2, 69. She trails Kansas’ Kinslea Jones (-4) by two strokes. After starting +3 over her first seven holes of the day, Lee shot -5 over her remaining 11 with a stretch of four consecutive birdies on holes 15 through 18 to close her opening round.
Liu, Royal and Yoo are all tied in seventh with a trio of even-par 71s.
Round two action on Monday will tee off at 9 a.m. (PT) on holes 1 and 10.
