Hello everyone, I’m in the designing stage of this build. Currently the office space exits, I will be demolishing the wall and expanding the space to fit the sim, would be basically 16:10 or 16:9, still deciding.

Any thoughts, suggestions or recommendations for the space?

The sitting area looks too close to the hitting area. Sometimes tees or balls fly backwards… just a consideration.

I’d second what the other person said, be very generous with your spacing. You will need more space than you think, especially when accounting for the back swing of a driver.

  3. The spacing looks fine to me, especially with the coffee table between the sim and the couch, which acts kind of as a safety barrier/reminder not to get too close. But that’s all dead/wasted space to the left of the couch. Maybe a sectional in that corner would be a better use of space

are you going to be watching movies and tv on this? bar tables and chairs will be easier and faster if you have friends over playing.

It’s tempting to transform your home fully into a sim but you’re going to regret not having a kitchen or bedrooom.

What program did you use for this? looks great!

  7. One general recommendation would be to narrow down what projector you’re going to use for the simulator, so that you know exactly how far away from the screen the projector will be (based on the throw distance ratio). Once you have that somewhat finalized, I would then finalize the placement/dimensions of the hitting area. This is important to consider early on so you don’t end up casting a shadow on the projection due to where the hitting area is placed, likely won’t be as much of an issue with a short throw/ultra short throw, but something to consider since you can mess with the dimensions/placement of the hitting area a bit more than you can with the size of the hitting screen and/or projector throw ratio.

Staring at the back of couch from your office isn’t the best experience. Think about putting a plant/sculpture or something behind that section of sofa that sticks out.

Also I’d suggest you get someone to put this in sketchup for you for more accurate scale of things. You don’t have enough space behind your desk for the chair to back up comfortably. Adding storage like your rendering is going to be way tougher than you think as well.

Lay driver in the ground from your backswing position to get idea. Couch seems too close.

I’d make sure that it is *abundantly clear without a shadow of a doubt* that standing behind the green area is safe. If it’s unsafe to stand right at the edge of the sitting area rug, that will be a problem.

I’d probably get an L shaped couch to go in the corner so you have more standing space. I know I wouldn’t want to sit on the couch after every single hit and there isn’t much standing space here. It looks pretty cramped for friends

Designated space for clubs/bag storage is under appreciated.

If you are going to have any kids around when the sim is in use, I would recommend rethinking the couch and considering some sort of physical barrier (like a bar with stools). Unless you have a ton more space than the rendering suggests, it appears too easy for kids (or adults who have been drinking) to forget there is someone in front of them swinging a golf club and step into harms way.
