RIO GRANDE, PR- In their first tournament back from the break, the Cyclones finished their first two rounds tied for 12th. The Cyclones shot one-under in their first round and four-over in their second round. With 11 of 18 teams under par, the Cyclones will need a big final round to get back into contention.
The Cyclonitas were led by Karisa Chul-Ak-Sorn. With zero rounds in the 60s in her fall season, she got two of them in her first two rounds back. Chul-Ak-Sorn sits in a tie for third and just five shots back from the leader. Chul-Ak-Sorn shot a 68 and 69 with 10 birdies to show for it. Playing as an individual, Isabella Yan did her thing as she shot a 71 and 75 with five birdies, putting her total at two-over and placing her in a tie for 57th.
Nichakorn Pinprayoon took the Cyclones’ three spot after shooting a 70 and 77, putting her total at three-over and placing her into a tie for 64th. Pammy Chookaew and Alexandra Vidal both sit in a tie for 72nd after shooting four-over. Chookaew’s splits were 73 and 75, while Vidal’s were 76 and 72. Keeley Marx rounded out the Cyclones after having an eight-over day, shooting a pair of 76s, placing her in a tie for 87th.
Number four-ranked Arkansas leads the tournament after shooting 22-under, but 14th-ranked North Carolina trails by just one stroke.
