It's almost funny, as well as a little sad, that such a common and easily understood piece of advice about taking responsibility for ourselves has "triggered" as many as it has. Not sure there's much hope for humanity! 🙂
Its easy to blame outside forces for the state of things. In some cases that's correct, but definitely things won't get better if you take no action to make them that way.
Change what you can and don't worry about what you can't. Take responsibility for yourself and make plans.

I am a gun loving Ky resident who KNOWS that when all the MAGA try hards hand over all their rights to Don the con Trump that they will be on his side and be awesome…so did the germans when hitler was going to save them. You've hit the nail on the head for one of humanity's biggest problems, why do we protect the young and guide them through life just to eventually throw them to the wolves? We pretend to care when we don't. I for one don't believe that you truly care for children if you can just stop caring about em as soon as they turn an adult. We should either guide each other or don't at all. Why half ass it?

Its sad but i think you're right, and i also think that part of life is learning to look after yourself, and part of it is being willing to look after others, so that when you need them to, they are willing to look after you. Be community spirited. Help each other

It is usually better to be wrong in inaction than to be wrong in action. The exceptions are if something is on fire, literally or metaphorically. If one is wrong in inaction, then typically one has a substantial amount of time to change one's mind and act. If one is wrong in action, that cat's out of the bag the moment one acts, and there's little chance of taking it back.

Its funny hearing a 2a dude talk about personal responsibilities in the face of fascism. The second amendment exists explicitly for an administration like the current one. The second amendment does not exist to inflate your ego or make you feel safe while you allow others to be killed by the state. Every life lost, every person abused, its all of our faults for not standing up sooner.
Nobody's coming to bail you out… unless you're a big financial institution, or an Ai company, that's coming soon, too.

It is an incredibly bad precedent to set for armed protestors to be shot just for carrying guns. The president will change and people will want to protest. You do not want to be shot just for carrying. That's insane.

Gun lovers forget, the 2A was created by our founding fathers to have arms to protect themselves from oppression and tyranny – like Britain and the red coats. This is what the 2A was meant for – to create militias to protect themselves from a tyrannical government.
I guess American's have forgotten history and why these first ten amendments were created. Or may be they're just uneducated and dumb. May be all three – who knows.
Except wealthy and powerful people continue to get bailed out for their mistakes time and time again. It is only the poor who are made to suffer. Us regular people are the ones forced to come to the rescue of the wealthy and powerful..
See this is a touchy subject for me because i lost my mom at 15 to breast cancer she was the glue to our family. I turned to drugs and alcohol stopped focusing on school. My father left and sold the house he spent most of the 2 years after she died visiting his wife on weekends in Chicago. And when he sold the house, and I left highschool I stupidly because i had no guidance decided to go to college for music. I'm 27 now, and I feel like I've been trying and failing for years to find where I belong. I've had no choice quite a few times there while I was struggling, trying to keep down a job, become stable become independent. It feels like there is so much trying to get in the way between me living my most fulfilling and purposeful life. I have made bad choices along the way that have set me back, and I always try to get back on my feet dust myself off and keep going. I have a better relationship with my dad now, and while I'm still extremely poor, and have to rely on the support of my grandparents to figure out a plan to move forward, I am hard working, just tired of being taken advantage of. I want a stable life, and I'm working on getting some sort of medical field training that could fetch me a better sallary. Currently I am saving up for a car, and classes this summer for a microbiology class, and Phlebotomy courses in the fall. And one of my goals for this year is to regularly attend the gym. Please wish me luck in my journey. I am praying for all of you, and thank Hickock45 for speaking some truth on our young minds.

This is a great sentiment, and it would be great if it were this simple. Unfortunately, it is not, and this message can be pretty harmful. When you start below rock bottom, pulling yourself up is not possible. That is why human society evolved.
Youth, are pissed off Hickok. Have been for decades. You can guess the precise year. Its been brewing since then. They way you live, what should have happened, and is not happening, is not what occurred for our majority of the young. That is the generational crisis. Thank you Sir.
What is this even about? Like what sparked the necessity to make a video on this topic? Cause realistically every generation will go through the point of feeling this way about the next. The generations before you said the same about yours likely just didn’t have the internet to talk about it.

Wow, this is so true. Even at 50 years old, I did not plan properly. I moved up in my company and started making a lot of money, but did not save well and then the last few years are industry has really slowed down. My income has been cut in half of my damn bills are the same and I should’ve planned properly. The thing is I definitely do not expect anybody to come bail me out, though this is my problem.
