I have read Alan Shipnuck book LIV or let Die, and it was okay. But I don’t agree with him on this one. LIV is bigger and more popular than EVER WORLDWIDE. It just in the USA they think they are the sun of the universe.
LIV don't need to make money they already have the cash not like the pga tour who are no longer a non profit organization they now have stakeholders to answer to LIV aren't in opposition to the pga tour they take golf to the world and the world is watching america don't own golf never have never will pga tour think they do, when brooks was asked what he missed about the pga tour his response said it all, his family, his wife and son coming out to watch him play, reed is a perfect fit for a tour like the pga where he could win regularly against players not at a level that are on LIV and results show it
Liv is a cute little tour for the weekend warrior who knows nothing about golf. But it has no future in big boy golf because it won’t ever have enough marquee guts to keep people’s eyes on it and to keep tv deals etc… if you think it will or does that’s ok but you’re living in fantasy land. Those billionaires from Saudi won’t keep throwing money away forever and that’s all they’re doing.
As a small business owner, I can tell you from experience that when it comes to hiring, I’m taking back the guy who quit 4 years ago and wants to come back, IF they bring the most to the table. Yep, right back into a management position regardless of how pissed the current employees that have worked there throughout are. Same thing applies to the PGA TOUR.
hate to tell you this Dan and Alan, but LIV is going nowhere..this doesnt change much..the PIF has more money now than PGA tour will have in 100 years…you guys really dont get it..
