Scottish people could have the opportunity to work for Donald Trump at his plush golf resort. The president’s five-star Trump Turnberry in South Ayrshire is set to hold an employment fair next month.
The event will run on February 18, from 10am to 6pm at the site near Girvan. Anybody with an interest will be supported to apply for positions and given a guided tour, with refreshments also on offer.
Shuttle buses will be put on from locations across the region, including the railway stations at Ayr and Maybole, and the Queens Hotel in Girvan, the Daily Record reports.
A spokesperson for Trump Turnberry said: “A wee reminder that our Annual Recruitment Day is coming up on Wednesday, the 18th of February, from 10am – 6pm.
“Come along and discover incredible career opportunities at Trump Turnberry. You will meet our team, receive application support, and enjoy a guided hotel tour and light refreshments prepared by our excellent Chefs.”
The swanky resort includes a hotel, three links golf courses and cottage accommodation.
Trump bought it 12 years ago, but resigned as a director shortly before his first presidential inauguration in 2017.
Last March, activists from Palestine Action vandalised the site, digging up grass on the greens and daubing red paint and slogans on the clubhouse. A 24-year-old man was later arrested and charged with malicious mischief.
The president also owns Trump International Golf Links on the Menie Estate in Aberdeenshire, and played a round at both courses during a five-day visit to Scotland last summer.
