Been working on converting my media room into golf sim in the last 2 months. biggest home project I've worked on…almost there and very excited. Thanks to this sub, I was able to find a lot of people's great work and options to make my own. you guys are awesome.

Question – been looking for ways to put the wood trim around to artificial grass + gym mats. do I just put 2x4s (nailed in corners to form a U shape) around the flooring? would that be secured enough? just looking to avoid the trim being flimsy and move around, but also don't want to screw down those trims to my sub-floor for ease of reversal if I need to move in the future.

thanks, y'all!

What size room did you need to make this work? Dying to know

  3. We have a tight weave carpet and everything slides around. On a similar post someone suggested double side tape to attach desk chair mats with the little spikes on them. It has worked amazingly for me, so I skipped the trim

You can definitely get double sided tape designed to hold rubber flooring down. I have it in my gym for the flooring. Not sure if you’d need it between carpet and rubber and the two rubber layers as well. But if that’s just an OSB subfloor, I’d be screwing stuff down to it. The screw holes will disappear if you ever decide to finish the space.
