The event, set May 4–5, will bring together Louisiana’s top high school golfers, coaches, families and fans, further solidifying Lafayette as a premier destination for high school championship events, according to a news release.

The State Golf Championships will showcase the best student-athletes in Louisiana, offering them the opportunity to compete on some of the region’s top golf courses. The event also promises significant economic and community impact, as it draws visitors to Lafayette Parish and highlights the area’s championship-caliber golf venues and renowned hospitality.

For more than a decade, LCVC has been a key partner in hosting the State Golf Championships, working closely with LHSAA and local stakeholders to deliver a seamless experience for competitors and visitors. The LCVC’s efforts include providing lodging support, visitor services and destination marketing that elevate the event and create lasting memories for attendees.

“Lafayette has a long history of welcoming student-athletes and their families with true Lafayette hospitality,” Carl Toups, Director of Sports Business Development for LCVC, said. “Hosting the LHSAA State Golf Championships year after year speaks to the strength of our facilities, our community partnerships, and our commitment to delivering a first-class experience for competitors and visitors alike.”

The 2026 championships will be at four golf courses in Lafayette Parish:

Le Triomphe Golf & Country Club – Girls’ Division I & II

The Wetlands Golf Course – Boys’ Division I & III

Cane Row Golf Club – Boys’ Division II

Farm d’Allie Golf Club – Boys’ Division IV

These venues are known for their challenging layouts and professional playing conditions, making them the perfect backdrop for the skill and sportsmanship of Louisiana’s high school golfers.

The 2026 championships also will benefit from an enhanced tournament experience, thanks to a collaboration between LHSAA, the Louisiana Golf Association, and The Kelly Gibson Foundation. This partnership will bring added expertise in tournament operations, course setup, certified rules officials, live scoring, and media support, ensuring a smooth and professional championship experience for all participants.

In addition to top-tier sporting facilities, attendees will have the chance to experience Lafayette’s exceptional dining, local attractions, and the city’s renowned Southern hospitality.
