Earlier this month, Kai Trump announced she had wrist surgery to address pain in her golf swing. The senior at the Benjamin School in Palm Beach County, Florida, said she underwent surgery Jan. 7.
In a post to her personal Instagram, Kai Trump said the procedure, which was conducted in Pennsylvania, addressed the stabilizing tissues of her ECU tendon and damage to her triangular fibrocartilage complex.
Kai Trump, a University of Miami women’s golf signee in the Class of 2026, said she will undergo rehab over the coming months in an attempt to play golf “pain free” again.

Notably absent was Kai Trump’s 19-year-old uncle Barron Trump, who could presumably be starting spring 2026 classes this week at New York University. Public appearances and recent photos and video of Barron Trump have been incredibly rare.
He was back home in Florida for the 2025 holiday season, though: The sophomore at NYU made a rare appearance at Thanksgiving dinner and New Year’s Eve, both at his father’s private club, Mar-a-Lago in Palm Beach, Florida.

Since his famous father was elected for a second term a year ago, Donald Trump has shared many special “presidential” moments with his family and inner circle — and most, if not all, have been attended by members of the Trump family.
But some haven’t. In particular, Barron Trump, the most private family member of this very public family did not make many public appearances at all last year, including significant sporting events: Super Bowl LIX, the Daytona 500 and the opening for the newest course at Trump Scotland, to name a few.
Barron Trump also did not make a public appearance at his father’s 79th birthday celebration in Washington DC, though most of his siblings and his mother Melania Trump did. When Southern Boulevard by Mar-a-Lago in Palm Beach was renamed after his father on Jan. 16, 2026, days before the one-year anniversary of Inauguration Day, there was no sighting of the president’s youngest son. His half-brother Eric Trump, however, did attend their father’s street-renaming ceremony.
In addition, several of Barron Trump’s nieces and nephews have generated headlines of their own — from the youngest (Alexander Trump Boulos, son of Tiffany Trump and Michael Boulos) to the oldest (Kai Trump, daughter of Donald Trump Jr. and Vanessa Trump). Kai Trump, who’s younger than her uncle Barron Trump by a year, has been notably building her social media brand.
In fact, it’s been a while since the entire Trump family made a public appearance together since Donald Trump was sworn in for a second time on Jan. 20, 2025.
When was the last public appearance of the entire Trump family in 2025?
Since President Donald Trump’s Inauguration Day on Jan. 20, 2025, which also was Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day, life for the commander-in-chief has been busy. From Jan. 20 to Nov. 25, 2025, for example, Donald Trump visited his home state of Florida 17 times and his private club and primary residence, Mar-a-Lago in Palm Beach, 15 times. According to Palm Beach Post reporting, neither Barron Trump nor Melania Trump had accompanied the president on board Air Force One to Mar-a-Lago or Florida since Inauguration Day. However, other celebrities, Trump family members (Viktor Knavs, Melania Trump’s father) and well-known public figures like Elon Musk and son Little X Musk have.
In addition to his presidential duties, traveling and legislation, Donald Trump has made time for significant events in sports including Super Bowl LIX in New Orleans, Louisiana; the Daytona 500 at Daytona International Speedway in Daytona Beach, Florida; the NCAA wrestling championship finals in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; the 2025 LIV Golf Tournament at his golf club in Florida, UFC fights in Miami, Florida; FIFA Club World Cup final in New Jersey; and the College Football Playoff national championship game in Miami, Florida.
Members of the Trump family have attended these events, but the entire Trump family clan has not been publicly seen together since the week of Inauguration Day festivities in January 2025. That includes all five Trump children, Donald’s Trump’s grandchildren, Donald Trump Jr.’s ex-wife Vanessa Trump, Donald Trump’s second ex-wife Marla Maples, Donald Trump Jr.’s girlfriend Bettina Anderson, Melania Trump and her father, Viktor Knavs.
