Have you ever heard about chipping with thicker grips and even super strokes with a flat front side to it?

It’s worth mentioning that this would be illegal to use in a competition round due to the flat side (any club other than a putter must have a rounded grip all the way round)

The thicker grip can help you to remove too much wrist movement and almost get you hitting chip shots like you’re putting

It also has a number of other benefits like: reducing tension and preventing gripping too tightly

If you have a spare wedge I think it’s worth giving a go if your maybe struggling with chipping or if you want to make it a bit more consistent

I’ll stand corrected if rules have changed but would not think this is legal , I thought club grips had to be circular .I put one on a chipper to try it out but was told NOT allowed . 🤷♂️

Unfortunately not allowed in competition play. This is an illegal club.
According to the regulations, the cross-sectional shape of the grip of all other clubs except the putter should be circular, no matter the thickness. The only thing allowed is the lip grip. So the grip on that video is obviously illegal.
I started “claw” gripping my wedge I will never go back for anything within 15 meters especially on a tight lie!
Or just grip your normal wedge grip like a putter
