Neil Mackie capped a historic year by winning the Poverty Bay Golf Club "Thursday School" top player for the second year running. Mackie, who had his career-first hole-in-one in March, had the school's best average Stableford score for 25 rounds or more over 2025. Mackie has been described as "the Bernhard Langer" of Tairāwhiti for his consistency over the decades, although fellow Thursday School member Glenn Morley said: "Mack is more like David Bowie than Bernhard". This pic is from 2009. Mackie has aged little since then.
