The DP World Tour continues its Opening Swing with a second visit to South Africa for the Alfred Dunhill Championship. A quarter of a century on from its inaugural edition, the Alfred Dunhill Championship returns to Johannesburg — the city where it was first staged from 2000 to 2004 at Houghton Golf Club. Following an intense summer in which Leopard Creek hosted both the Alfred Dunhill Championship and the prestigious Africa Amateur Championship, the course now takes a well-earned period of recovery. Last year, home favourite Shaun Norris carded a final-round 67 to come back from six strokes back and win by one shot. Co-sanctioned with the Sunshine Tour since its inception at the turn of the millennium, this year marks the 25th edition of the event. A long-standing favourite of the world’s leading professionals, former World Number Ones, Major winners, Ryder Cup and Presidents Cup stars have all competed in the Alfred Dunhill Championship.

Welcome to the Official YouTube channel of the DP World Tour. Every week you can find extended tournament highlights and individual player highlights from the likes of Rory McIlroy, Justin Rose and Tommy Fleetwood. This is also the home of the 14 Club Challenge, Little Interviews, Fastest Hole and many more challenges, pranks and world record attempts featuring the biggest golfers in the world.

Waywood drive at the first. Well, folks, just watch this because you’re not going to believe it. I promise you. And sounded like it might have just clipped a branch, but he he had no shot really. And just take a look at this for an albatross. You just can’t believe that. What a goal shot. Jaden Shape, your pick this week, Tony. I know I’m always scared to do it because they don’t call me Jinx Johnston for nothing. He was two over after four yesterday. We thought, “Oh dear, but he fought back beautifully and he has been on a scorcher today.” This was at seven. Second birdie in a row. Yeah, he birded eight as well and just tapping in here at nine. And that is a round of 64 from Jaden Schaefer, runner up at the net bank last week. I think maybe his uh I think his second shot might have come out a little dead out of that slightly fluffy kuyu, but doesn’t matter. Oh my goodness. Nearly holds his second out the trees for Albatross at one. Rolls in a snake at three. Smart shot here. 15 ft right of the flag. Give yourself a birdie putt. Not a flag to be messed with. Or you can just thread it in there to about 4 ft if you want to. That’s rolling on a little bit. That’s a great shot though. Oh my. How does that ball end up there, Tony? It’s a very good question. I don’t have an answer for it. What a great try. Kakuya bases Aiden Hoot. Ball sitting on top of it though. Should be okay. Oh, go on. Go on. Yes. Beautiful. Yeah. Look at the pace on that. Always judged it to perfection. Beautifully done. It’s a school holidays out here, so we’re going to see a few kids over the next three days. Coming to enjoy the golf. Chakara across the sixth for Eagle. Hurry, hurry. Takara sand has dried out a little. So, pretty straightforward bunker shot. He’s gone after it. Given that everything a little shake of the head. Why? Indeed, why? Goodness me. That is a great golf shot. He looked disappointed. Just looked short, didn’t it? All the way really there for Brandon. Disappointing. Well, no eagle, but it is a very easy birdie. So, he moves to nine under par within four of the leaders, Shaper and Chakara. Oh, he’s having a paddle. Scalison. Having to grip it down on the steel. Shoes and socks off. Never easy. Never easy. So, right, sort of almost casual water, but not quite. Still a bit of a splash, but no red te’s. E, Jamie. Yeah, no red te’s. I don’t know why. One of my friends did the same thing, and I just picked up on it. Perry for birdie after that terrific shot up the hill. Oh, yes. Who needs to hit it 340 down there? It’s a beauty. You see the difference in the grip there. Brandon Grace is a pretty much more of a neutral grip. Ros on the eighth. Second shot through the trees. Looks like he’s got a gap. Flags front right. So once I get it left. Oh, this should chase through there, shouldn’t it? Go on. So good. Another shot of genius, man. We’ve seen some unbelievable shots out the rough. Scott Olison with a nine. Second shot to the par five. Got to draw it in. Oh wow. What a shot. Well, this looks all good for Brand of Grace. Eye looks okay. Smashed it, didn’t he? Well, not be the easiest of chips. The preferred liars will help him for sure. What’s green to work with? That definitely went quite a bit right. Yeah. Wally, you’ve seen Perry’s puck turn right to left there. I can’t believe his went right. Now to avoid a bogey bogey start to the back nine. This game will give you so much, but then it’ll just tease you. To 12 and Michael Hollock from the green side bunker. Yes, please. From the putting surface for Birdie trying to get back in a share of the lead with Jaden Schaper. Should be some right to left on this one. Oh, good happens. It’s getting deep into the second half of the draw. There’ve only been 12 birdies here today. So, if you can eek one out, it is a bonus. That’s absolutely That’s straight. Beautifully done. Yeah. And it didn’t spin too much either, did it? That’s That’s a really good shot from Parry. Really good part there. Got a good read off Pita. John Perry. Dear pushed his drive at 11. Dangerous one here. Played it extremely well. What a shot from Burma. Thank you. Wow. Thanks. After that wonderful second to 11 Dean Burmeister. Oh, well done. So, it’s a birdie birdie start to the back nine and that’s on two pretty challenging par fours as well. A quick Oh, yeah. Right in the middle. And he moves ahead of Jaden Schaer now and takes the lead on his own. Eugenio Chakara. Two holes to go. Good chances at both. 17. A shortish par four and then you got the par five closing hole. Spot on from Parry. A little bit of a spray off the tea. Let’s see what he can do with this wedge shot. Hasn’t proved to be strength today so far. And as I say that, he almost holds it. That is way better. Hope he goes over to America and does really well. Chakara up at the 18th. He eagled this hole yesterday. If he does so today, he will move three clear at the top. Cool. Didn’t need too much more, did it? Oh, Parry Frigle. Let’s go a bit to the right. Oh, great effort from John Perry. He set off. He set off. He was there. I’ll just go and pick that. Oh, criy. No, I won’t. It’s going to be a birdie though. Back to back rounds of 66 for John Perry. So, he will head into the weekend at 12 under par. No mistakes. Solid stuff, isn’t it? 6567. But Jakara will take a twoshot lead into the weekend of the Alfred Dunhill Championship. Jay, I’m sure you would have liked to carry last week’s momentum into your first round, but that opening nine seemed a bit frustrating frustrating for you, but you came back well yesterday. Yeah. Uh, obviously coming off last week, it’s was quite quite a good week and coming into this week, you wanted to just continue with that. Uh, yeah, it was a bit of a slow start in my first nine, but yeah, I mean, got it rolling. Just had a few things that we had to kind of work on and eventually got it got everything kind of sorted and just started feeling good again. So, yeah. What did you work on? cuz today you come back and shoot a bogey 364. Uh it just kind of with the yardages and that obviously we at altitude now and we spend most of our most of our most of the tournaments playing at at Coastal. So there’s a lot less spin on the ball up here. So kind of just falling a little bit out the sky and numbers were a bit short in a few few of the shots. So just kind of got the adjustments in that right and just started to hit hit some flags. Once you figured that out, does it help as well playing a course that you know? Uh yeah, definitely. Yeah, I mean obviously I’d like to have played some more golf here before coming into here. Uh we I I spent most my time at Bori whenever I’m back home. Um but yeah, we played a practice around here about 2 weeks ago just before Netbank with my dad and them. Um but yeah, I mean this golf course never changes. Always pretty much the same. So it’s a nice familiar golf course and yeah, familiar spot to be in as well. Um challenging going into the weekend. Yeah, it’s always a good spot. I mean that’s where you want to be. Uh so yeah, just let’s have a good weekend. All the best. Well played. Awesome shoot. To watch another DP World Tour video, click here. And to subscribe, click here.

  1. As much as Hollick taps down the greens before he putts that guy should work as a greenskeeper rolling greens😂😅😂 if this pro gig doesn't work out.

  2. No Schaper or Oosty highlights, what a joke. Btw the course looks like a joke for these pros too?

  3. QUESTION ? Did Chacarra anchor his putter on the 10th green ?
    I think he did .
