For the first time ever, Strixon has released a game improvement iron. This is the ZXIR. This uses an I alloy, which is their proprietary metal, which is both strong, but also exceptional when it comes to feel. There is mainframe technology, which is variable thickness here in the face. Now, the bottom of this uses the VT sole with relief towards the face and towards the back of the club here on the heel. You can see that ridge that moves through. That is going to move turf away from the ball, make those shots out of the rough much, much easier. The top line of this club, I would call medium. It’s definitely not super thick, but it’s certainly not thin. But this is a game improvement club after all. But interestingly enough, there’s very minimal offset on this club. So, with that more mediumwidth sole and that gentle offset, these could almost be mistaken for a player’s iron. Absolutely beautiful. Now, like I said, these irons are all about the feel. So, let’s see how they feel. Oh, super high launching. You could probably hear the crunch when I hit that ball. They sound incredible as well, but the feel is top of class when it comes to a game improvement iron. They did a fantastic job at Stricks with these. Now, I wouldn’t say these are for the highest of high handicaps, but I would say from about 22 to 12, this could be a real contender. If you need a little extra distance and forgiveness, especially if you’re getting up there in age, take a look at the ZXIR.
