I think you’re out of order asking me that question. You should know better as a question. No, I think you should know better as presenters to take try and take advantage of me. I don’t want to talk about the political side of Gary Link. If you’re getting paid a million and a half a year to host a bloody football show once a week, you should be a consumate professional. But as far as this job as a football operator, football commentator, he’s first class. Yeah. And but other people have turned it into a situation. But I mean really to God, does anybody make decisions in their life based upon what Gary Link says? If they do, have a word with yourself. Well, all I can say, I mean, when he did what he did, comparing government rhetoric to that the 1930s Germany in March 2023, he caused a match of the day walk out. What did you think at that

  1. Well said Keown! We all know who owns this radio station and who Simon Jordan is married to. Gary Lineker didn't discuss politics on Match of the Day, yet who is trying to bring politics into a "sports show"? Hypocrisy?

  2. The thing is, when you live in a free country, you should be able to say what you want. Unless you don't like freedom.

  3. Listen let's be frank, there were some real stark similarities weren't there. Clearly Martin agrees. Any sane man would

  4. Fair play about Israel but everything else Gary Lineker says is looney left wing drivel. The left push cancel culture on everyone else.

  5. Lineker supported Hamas and October 7th. There's a huge difference, he's a woke donut who supports open borders. No-one to blame but himself.

  6. Gary has an opinion… Everyone has an opinion! I don't think it's right that his employers don't like it's employees speaking their minds! The contracts drawn up for people who work on the BBC that instructs them to be impartial are quite frankly wrong! The supposed impartiality is there to uphold the government's agendas so the 'message' gets across with no opposing views..Common purpose 👍 If the BBC or any other broadcaster are seen to be breaking any rules on this subject then the government will remove their licence to broadcast! That is Censorship that the Russians would be proud of, according to the BBC!

  7. Gary Lineker is a moron , but there is a nagging feeling in the back of my brain somewhere that he doesn't really believe the things he says , he has said what the BBC wants to hear and earn big bucks from it

  8. Ever notice how it's only ever tories and right leaning people who took umbridge at Gary? They'll always hide behind "well he works for the BBC" like they give a damn. Thinly veiled racists imo

  9. Lineker is a perfectly fine human specimen. Jordan on the other hand is a perfectly fine specimen of a capitalist moron! And keown… Well… He just needs to find a spine.

  10. The money he was paid is immaterial. He was subcontracted by the corporation and was free to say what he liked until they decided he was a liability.

  11. Champagne socialist blah blah blah. As far as I’m concerned he’s a man who risked his platforms for what ge thought was right. I think most people deep down no matter your opinion would like to think no matter how much money they make they’ll still hold the values they were raised with.

  12. If there's a line to not cross, then freedom of speech doesn't exist and im starting to wonder if it ever did.
Match of the day isn't the same without Gazza. It seems to be a certain group of people can say and do what they want and everyone has to put up and shut, while other people do the same and get named and shamed or maybe worse. It's nut's!
