I made the cut at my first ever tour event, the Egyptian Open! But how do I fare against a field of 50 tour pros for a prize pot of $125,000? Huge thanks to the Talaat Moustafa Group for the invite, I’m incredibly grateful for both the support and the opportunity to tee it up. Also, a massive shout-out to the Egyptian Golf Federation for one amazing tournament, and Madinaty Golf Club for being the perfect host venue for this prestigious event.

I’m in Egypt playing in my first ever tour event. This is the Egyptian Open at Madinati Golf Club. [Music] My goal in coming to the desert was to make the cut. Fighting it out against elite professionals. After birdies and bogeies trials and tribulations, we achieved our goal. [Music] Now me and the remaining 50 pros will battle it out as we play the final two rounds. So, here we are, day three, the Egyptian Open, and technically this is moving day. So, the third round of any tournament. People who are right at the bottom of the leaderboard, like me, can climb a significant way up. Really, the point of this now, we’ve made the cut, which was the huge goal, is to see how far we can get up. I mean, pre-ournament, my highest expectations were probably top 30. So, if we can manage to get there, that would be amazing. Currently in 50th, literally. So, let’s see over the next two days how high we can climb. Let’s have a good day. Film well, play well. See you on the first. Good morning, ladies and gentlemen, and welcome to the Egyptian Open round three, game number eight. First on the tea from England, Peter F. All [Music] right. 154. What was the pen? Sorry. Wind just off the left. 34 left at the back. I don’t want to go long left here. Just a smooth nine back. Right. Okay. [Music] 240. What do I bring? Settle. Cheers. So that made the D hit the flag. The flag had a pronounced wobble then, didn’t it? All right. Come on. Reset back into wind. Char some spin. [ __ ] get your head on, man. Come on. Starlight, right? Come on. Let’s get head back in the game now. safe. Tentative again. Come on. Let’s start start firing a few pins here if they’re accessible. That’s an accessible issue pin. Good test. Good test of the mentals. Test of pace over this slope. Yeah, bit insensitive. Feeling very tense. I needed that one. Get a smile. Get a smile back on my face. Wind might be helping a touch here. So, let it fly. Come on. Downwind 250 front. Take a bunch of We can I think 13 on like just on the right. Okay. I’m just going to basically try and get this in the back bunker if possible. But thinned it. I think it’s in the bank. I think it’s in the bank. Wind just died. Yeah. So, it’s in the it’s in the hazard. So, I can’t drop it. The only thing I can do here is like literally literally just try and hammer behind the ball and hopefully pop it on. If I was to take a drop. Yeah. Yeah. So it would be entry. Okay. Just imagine that would have gone in. Greatest bird of all time. 47 off the right control line [Music] just a touch more into it’s a weird bit of a weird club there. I didn’t want to go chasing that pin just beyond it. There’s a big drop off. So short is better, but a little bit safe. a little bit both ways, but the end is just a touch right to left. Has to be. [Music] Thank you. I’ve got a feeling about this round. It’s either going to be incredible or 173 wind is into 173 wind into off the left. God finally hit this green. It’s been five days. We’re on. Okay. Chance go. That’s a good put. Just lacking in that little bit of pace. Okay. It’s 500 y into wind off the left. Just a really strong hole. Keep it to the left of that right bunk. Yes. Like that. Bounce. It 203 yards. Pin’s kind of like back left. It’s either a little four or really really really good five. Wind kick in. Yeah, just a touch long I think. Knuckled through as well. Anyway around the green on 500 yard par four is always decent. Tricky downhill right to left. set. It’s downhill, man. It’s really not that slow. Such a Come on. Focus. Focus. Focus. Focus. Trust the process. An idea in every shot. Too busy getting unsettled today. Everything’s just bothering me. Just let it go. That’s a good drive so far. Definitely a way up today. 255. I’m just going to go just inside that path. Lay up on a par five. Absolutely 100% the hardest shot in the game. 80 yards. It’s just front front right, isn’t it? So take into account the wind. So I kind of want this and maybe a touch more full hard 50. It’s either like one of these where I just try and take spin off or one of these where I try and give it a little bit more and spin it back on a little bit of a down slope as well. Go. It’s done so well to get there. It’s a terrible shot. Thankfully, I hit it hard enough that the fat still got the right distance. [Music] again. Bad bad bad mentals. Bad mentals. Okay, it’s driveable. Take the mini. I was over the back yesterday. Cheers. That should be pretty good. I think that should be pretty good. Left edge of the green. potentially that left bunker. All right, come on. Just focus on each shot. Concentrate through. Finding it hard to get my head in the right place some reason. All right, put it up. I mean, it’s not the best front line I’ve ever rode in my life. Just sloppy mentally. But it’s all about just trying to put that behind me now. Got a whole fresh set of nine to go with some chances. So, let’s keep pushing. Let’s keep going. car wind. Stop it. Stop it. Stop it. Stop it. Stop it. Obviously hearing now some like a buggy or a car like screech to the skid in the background just about to start swinging. But I heard it. I thought about it. So could have just I could have taken a step away, but I didn’t. I just like carried on. It’s that kind of attitude. Especially when you get to this kind of level where making those little mistakes like giving away shots just can’t really afford to do it, especially with mental mistakes. Got to try and be a lot sharper in that regard. It’s nice that at least I can identify. Like that’s my main kind of issue. It’s not not like I’m hitting any wild horrendous shots. It’s just focus and thinking and I plan my way around. So, some positives. At least I’m at least I’m aware of what I’m doing wrong. It’s like an outer body experience. If I could reach in and get myself to stop, that would be that idea. So, good clubbing. Very good clubbing. Carly, I know. Seem to have lost our towel. Now, I’m not saying there are many jobs for a caddy, but keeping hold of the towel is one of them. Who’s that? Very good P. Yeah, you’re right. It was. How did D going everyone? 190 back into the wind. Just over that right hand bunker is good. Good shot. That was a good shot. [Music] 50. Use the wind to stop it. [Music] Needed that for my mentals. [Music] Oh, no. No, no, no, no. Why? I’m just going to go through here with a six middle green to be great. Go, go, go, go. That was just a really good shot. It was online with the pin. I just hope it’s cleared that bunker. [Music] It’s fine. I do it all the time. [Music] Puppy local won this event. I can feel him. I can feel him in my [Music] [Music] rocket 223 left 180 slight down slope wind across right I’m just going to go Seven. Basically starts at the right palm. Just draw it back to the middle two with the wind. [Music] That’s pretty good. That was a good charge. What around this bit? My god. Absolutely knackered. Okay. Let’s have a debrief. Yeah. So, the round today um didn’t quite go as planned. I was struggling to settle down mentally. Um but after a short drive into the city center of Cairo, I’ve realized I don’t know what mental means. There are new definitions in place for what that equates to. We got one round to go tomorrow. Just going to try and play as best I can, but I’ve actually moved up one place with that one over. I think I’m in 42nd now. Technically, I’m actually playing okay. It’s just more of a mental game now. Just trying to get myself in the right head space cuz I was struggling early on to to think my way through that round successfully. There’s a river All right, day four, final day. Um, bit of an eventful evening last night. [Music] [Applause] We are tied. I think 43rd at the moment. 44th. If I want to get into that top 30, I need a good underpar round. We’re talking, I don’t know, minus four, minus five. But as we’ve learned over the past few days, it’s just about taking one shot at a time, trusting the process, and seeing how we go. We’re starting off on the back nine again. I’m just going to try and be nice and relaxed today. Good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen, and welcome to the Egyptian Open round four, game number seven, tea time, 10:22. Next on the tea from England, Peter Ben. Good. What a club. Okay. 100 pins here. So, a little bit behind again. 104. It’s 3/4. 3/4 54 should be absolutely absolutely perfect. It’s okay. Just loads of spin. Honestly, uh, literally no idea. That’s a straight up. Fair enough. Didn’t need another one of them that quick. Or maybe I did. sec. That’s a tough pin from that. Come on, Pete. Put in good. You are putting really well. Trust it. Cheers. All right. Got a chance to get home again. Use the wind. Don’t fight it. Just left of the green’s fine as well. [Music] We’re being positive today. We’re sticking to the routine. We’re not We’re not going to be self-defeating. We’re going to be self inflating. with my putting when it’s YouTube. I’m always like so much more relaxed and I can just start rolling it really quick and be relaxed. Like I get a bit locked in at the start competitions. It takes me a while to loosen up like literally every round. 221 solid solid nine here. 53. Okay. Up right to left. Deep breaths. Brutal. Brutal. Go. Good. Hit it so high today. It’s coming out a different window than I’m used to. Okay, got your line on this now. Just up the left edge window. Bring it back. slipped out right. I’m not sure if it’s actually missed the bunker or not. Be a good break if it has. It’s just off a little bit of a down slope out of rough. So, just might come out a little bit hot. That’s all. Thinking if I just try and hit a six hard and just aim it at Alex’s ball there. Even if it’s short, that’s fine. Where that pin is should be enough to get over the bunker. So All right. Back. Good for. Yeah. It’s a long old boy. Still 300 yards in. Just a lay up left of that path. Want to be on the right side of the fairway where that pin is, but still pretty good. Solidly into wind here. 80 yards. Pins back left. Just want to try and hit something a little bit lower in here. 54. Try and hit it in just a touch lower. Sit, sit, sit. Jeez. Absolutely crushed it and the wind just stopped. Yeah, too bad. Sliced it. It’s a tough par five, so not a terrible par, but again, my wedge play this week’s not been not been great, but I think it just goes down to the fact I’ve not really been practicing it. It’s amazing how those things go hand in hand. Probably just about get that with me today. Come on. Should be pretty good. I think struck that well. Bloody hell. I was too big. Say chicky chick. Just got to get over this ridge and let it roll into the pin. All right. Not bad. Bit dangerous that there’s a a ridge just after the green. [Music] Golf can test you, can’t it? It’s a good pot going. New nine just right between the bunkers. Go. Hit it, wind. Hit it. Hit it. Hit it. Hit it. Hit it. Same bay art every day. 149. Um, wind off the right, sidehill slope. You either got to try and hold like an eight into it with a low flight or hit a nine. Stay. Yeah. Trying to get near that pin today with that wind’s almost impossible really. All right, let’s get the pace on this one. What the hell? It’s good. It’s a good four on there today. That pin. Okay. Tough bar three next. Tough bar three next. And then we have some scorable holes. It’s 180 into wind. 183 middle. It’s a six. You don’t want to miss short though, do you? No, it’s a six. I just six. Yeah, it’s a six. It’s a six. Cheers. Probably a really good golf shot. It’s just excellent. No, good three. Always a good three on there. Okay. So, kind of opening up into a few holes where we could maybe get after it a little bit more like up until well from here till the 9inth. I think the fourth quite tough, but have some chances. Feeling good. Feeling pretty confident about my game again. So, let’s just try and push. Let’s just try and keep going. Let’s try and climb. I feel like a a level par one over probably moves me up another place again today. But I think if I get under par, got a chance to get to that top 30. Go left hard somehow. Still got a chance to get up and down. Should have really hit it over to the left there with that pen. 77. More of a feel shot than anything. 77 80. So pull 80 yards of the wind. Yeah, it’s pretty good. Gives it a chance for a part. Yeah. No, it’s pretty good. All right, bogey. Not terrible bogey. A pot will drop soon, I’m sure. Right. Come on. You like this T- shot right edge of the fairway. Might be my favorite t-shirt on the course. Okay. Right. 170. Straight back into the wind. Just going to drill a 79 just to the right of it. All right. So much higher. It’s kind of crazy. Left to right, down the slope at the end. Just hope we don’t get a mud pull. Tricky. 250. It’s 250, but it’s straight down draft. So, if you’ve been watching the last few videos, it’s the 330 run out. So, can’t hit driver. I was down there with the six iron yesterday. Managed to make an eagle. 225. I can get a full out four. Feels like a hybrid would be too much. So, just going to try and launch launch a four. Come on. Oh, please be good. Go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go. It looks amazing. Can you see it? It’s on the grain. Yeah. So good. You like this hole? I do like this hole here. This hole is my friend. So, I mean, it’s hard to tell from 250 yards away. Sound a YouTube video essentially. Like, oh my god, man. It’s unbelievable. All right, Eagles Chance. [Music] Cheers. [Music] Stop it. It’s very, very, very rare. Your eagle. Same hole. Back to back. Back to back eagles. Back to back eagles. Let’s back an eagle up with another good drive. Jeez, that’s massive. All right, 83. So, there’s not a massive amount of room behind, but that’s pretty good. Wedge gapping and distancing and practice that a little bit more. Like I said, maybe build something into the software back in the sim. But hey, that’s for another day. 435 pin on the left. Want to be up on the right side of the fairway if possible. Let’s carry it. It should be over anyway. I’m guessing I hit the car path. I’m on the uh on the ninth. Car path back there on the stats. This is going to give me an extra 40 yards on this drive. All right, that pin tucked on the left. But from here, I’ve got like a straight angle, isn’t it? 126. Whereas I guess it is tight left. So it’s literally just on the just on the edge of the green. straight back into wind from here. 127 like a full full gap wed, which is 130 to 135, but also cuz I’m on the side of that slope, it’s going to go high very quick. So, I’m thinking just knocking down a pitching wedge. Go, go hard. Go, go, go, go. Fell back on it. set. Wow. Oh go. I just didn’t strike that very well. Yeah, just short long put. All right, nice test of pace again. Right line. Right line. Cheers. Just hit it. It’s the secret. Just hit it. All right. You’ve got your line. Got your line piling in the distance. Come. Come on. I’ve been in that left bunker every day. [Music] We did it. We did it. It’s finishing left. little left side opens up the uh opens up the green just fends the um going to lie there’s some bunkers over there but might find a bit of rough it’s a great starting point just didn’t curb at us all do love an ups slope of a bunker Oh. Oh. Such an annoying way to finish. Hate finishing. Hate finishing with a bogey. He finished with a bogey in a par five. In all fairness over the course of the week, 71, 72, 73, and 69. And there we have it. Done. The Egyptian Open. Um, what an experience. I mean, that’s my first proper tour event. And to make the court, which was the main goal, is absolutely fantastic. I wish I would have been able to push on a little bit more in those last two rounds. To get into that top 30, which I really wanted to. I think I’d have had to shoot six or seven under today, which in the nicest possible way with the way I struck it, I don’t think would have been achievable. I just want to say a massive, massive thank you to the guys for getting me over, the amazing people at TMG. You’ve got the Egyptian Golf Federation and you’ve got Madanati Golf Club. We’ve just had the best time, the best week, and the Asian Development Tour as well for organizing such a brilliant event. Obviously, I’ve achieved what I want to from this week. So, I’m feeling very very positive that all the guys here were so so nice and so welcoming. So, it’s just been the best week. Right. Shall we uh go to the airport again? Shall we actually leave this time? Bye, Egypt.

Been watching you for a while now…you need a little more celly in your game when you hit a good shot…this trying to just keep the heart rate down and steady is a bunch of crap…this is a sport, not a yoga retreat…every other sport players celebrate the small victories and when we see it in golf (e.g., the Ryder Cup), it brings out the best in players…
An Irishman that can’t stop hearing “I’m an eejit playing in my first ever tour event …” LOL
Pete that fender bender was wild.
Thanks for bringing us along for the journey, Pete.
Looks like your caddie my be your wife , she's got a touch but not too much great caddie , if she is do you have any kids…
Pete, you’re playing some great golf, it’s so good to watch your development. Your back to back eagle seemed to be the only time you were really enjoying yourself. I know it must be so hard but loosen up and enjoy it. Can’t wait for the next tournament, I am 100% behind you.
You strike the ball very well . Tee shots are on point really .Loving it
Congrats Pete! Made the cut and played the weekend. Glad to see you playing some proper tourney golf! Best of luck in the next one and can't wait to see it!
Your swing looks great and, best of all, very consistent. You seem to be one of the few YT golfers that has actually progressed over time. Would love to see you put out a video on your current mechanics and swing thoughts!
I love watching competitive golf and this was a blast to watch Peter. I hope you do more of these! I will be rooting for you every step of the way.
such a great driver of the ball
Well played for making the cut. Keep on going and get some practice in.
Well done young man! You should be very proud of yourself!!🍺🍺
I wish I was there. Tell him to destroy. He's a great golfer who needs do what he can .
He's way better than you think
First pro tournament and you're handling the physical and mental exceptionally well !!! Beyond happy for you and thrilled to see the rest of the journey !!!
Love the self inflating bit😂😂
Driver and fairway woods were awesome.
No hate here, but if you compare this to the Open qualifier performance, you can see just how big a difference putting/course management makes.
Those par saves and birdie puts that went in in the qualifier didn't here
If this putter sees the final hole on one piece I’ll be surprised
To qualify and compete great effort and experience..one negative gripe ..so many great drives not capitalised on. But at least you're giving yourself chances from those great drives. Onwards and upwards old bean.
Oh Pete, I think if you hired a pro caddie you would have saved like 6 strokes on putting alone lol.
Hey Pete Just wanted to leave a message saying Thanks for the videos Im going through some Health Battles at the moment and Wanted to Let you know your videos make it easier. Keep Shining my man.
So quick question. On Peter’s imbedded ball in the penalty area, could he not have taken his ball, cleaned it, and dropped between where it was imbedded and the lake? Rule 17.1d(3).
“The relief area may extend into the penalty area”.
were you able to make money in the tournament?
No matter what, you should hit your stock shot anytime you can get it within 30 ft. Too much screwing around. That being my opinions i think he's great and should try again. He has the talent
Such a great couple videos. I was rooting for you so hard to make the cut. Best putter in the world!
Just watched part 2 and what a great effort from you.
A few shots left out there but that's golf. What came across was the mental strength you need for 4 rounds of golf over 4 days. Must be tiring.
Well done 👏 and looking forward to more of these videos.
Really really appreciate you bringing us along for the ride, I enjoyed that alot!! You did really good, hope to see you do more! Found you on the internet invitational, and I think out of everyone there you've become my favorite YouTube golfer. Also, hat tip to your editor with the music on the puts keeping us guessing, early on I was thinking every time music was on it was leading up to a big shot, but that was not the case, so you never really knew what was going to happen. Also like the line over the flag on long shots, and the map showing the shot, helps you get a better feel for the hole
Why do I find it beyond annoying…… “cheers” after playing partners say “nice shot” ?
Quality play. I suspect the higher elite players mostly hit just that bit more precise irons. There was excellent driving, several putts scraping by that might have dropped. Such fine margins, but over 4 rounds this was an excellent effort. (Btw I visited Cairo in the 90s not realising golf was possible and staying at Mena House Hotel played their golf course slap bang next to the pyramids at Giza – which all round looked like giant tee box markers looming over you !)
Amazing mental turn around from your earlier efforts. Your putting consistency is elite but your alignment skills are not as we saw from your putting lesson. You missed a half dozen or more putts, several consecutively, just a fraction left. I know it’s easier said than done, and the fear of long come back putts is legitimate, but most everything was a few turns short of the hole. I’d go back to the putting coach for another checkup. He was fantastic.
Great content.. I loved it all the way… what a production… what a supportive caddy !
Great watch, putting just off a little bit, best golf YouTube channel out there 👏👏👏

Thank for a great time. And very well done by you 🙂
Shaved a few edges in them two rounds Pete! I reckon you need to believe in yourself more… you are a class golfer and well capable of top Ten in these events! Believe!! We all believe in you!
Another awesome video always look forward to them especially these events and club pros challenges. Good look going forward and all the best 👍
You were close. Three penalty shots. Missed theee very short putts. Plugged lie was crazy, made bogey. Just a few shots and you’d have been near even.
Always fun to see you compete. Teary eyed when you made Open Qualifying.
Shall we go to the airport, again?…A fitting way to end your tryst with destiny! Well done, Pete! Wish you continued success.
Great effort, sorry mate i couldn't bare to watch it all i dont like torture and suffering. It was like having to watch a kangaroo stuck in a barbwire fence hurting itself until it finally dies of thirst.
Well done Pete it’s great seeing you play around the world 👌🏻
Well done on making the cut Pete! That is an awesome achievement!
Change your putter Finchie..Too many putts missed..Get a Lab Golf putter and play better golf.Mine is a DF3, and I have dropped 4 strokes….Great vid though.
I just want say…apparently I’m in the top 0.7% of your viewers so…yeah, I’m a huge fan of your content.
20 to 30 foot putts is my sweet spot too😅
Your game is so far beyond that of (probably) most of us watching, yet your videos are still relatable. Congratulations on making the cut and keep up the great work!
