The 2025 PGA Tour season wrapped up at the RSM Classic. And while Sammy Valy made history as the first Finn to win on tour for dozens of other players, the real drama was just unfolding. This year, the stakes were higher than ever. To keep their full tour card for 2026, players needed to finish inside the top 100 of the FedEx Cup standings. A big change from the usual top 125. This membership shakeup has left some big names on the outside looking in, facing a season of conditional status or having to rely on special exemptions. It’s a brutal end to a long year and the list of players who lost their full playing privileges is pretty shocking. So, who are the biggest stars now fighting to get back to the top? Let’s take a look. First up, Matt Wallace. He finished just outside the bubble at 103rd. His win exemption from 2023 has run out and with only conditional status, the five-time DP World Tour winner might just head back to Europe fulltime. Bo Hustler, one of the most talented Americans still looking for his first win, also came up short at 104th after a tough season. Then you have guys like Matt Cucker at 118th. The ninetime winner is expected to use a career money exemption to play next season before he turns his attention to the Champions Tour. Fan favorite Joel Dammen, who missed a staggering 16 cuts, ended up at 122nd. He’ll have conditional status as he looks to rebound in 2026. Even next year’s US as President’s Cup captain, Brandt Snedeker isn’t safe. He finished 126th and will now have to juggle his captaincy duties with a limited playing schedule. Some other huge surprises include Adam Hadwin at 139th and twotime major champion Zack Johnson at 141st. Johnson will also likely use an exemption. Once a rising star, Cameron Champ continued to struggle, finishing 147th. And remember Camilo Villiguzz’s incredible comeback win in 2023. He couldn’t keep that momentum, ending his season at 155th. Perhaps the biggest shock is Thristen Lawrence. After nearly winning the Open in 2024 and earning his card from Europe, he just could end find his footing in the States and will now return to the DP World Tour. Finally, two former major champions, Danny Willlet and Franchesco Molinari, also lost their cards. For Molinari, this might be a blessing in disguise as he’s a top contender for the 2027 Rder Cup captaincy. It just goes to show how tough it is to stay at the top in professional golf.
