9,000 + Golfers… None Had Bryson Distance at His Age! Can I beat him?
a 19-year-old who hits the golf ball 330 yards like it’s nothing. That’s as good as it gets. Sure. And somehow in just five years, he climbed from complete beginner to plus five handicap and now into professional ranks. A meteoric rise doesn’t happen often. But weirdly, I got a little lesson from Bryson. Raw power, fearless speed, and a modern prodigy stepping into the spotlight. And today, he steps onto one of the most demanding stages in Portugal. Quinta Deargo Larenelle measuring 6,480 meters of rolling punishing terrain. A course built to expose every weakness and reward the only most precise shots. Oh my god. What am I? Dream about that tonight. I’m going to dream about that tonight. And this is where a nine-hole scratch match will unfold. Where rising talent meets seasoned experience. Where power confronts precision. Bigfoot. And where pressure reveals the truth. This is Beat the Elite episode two. First hole 325 par 4. Now I’m going to see. I think I’m going to word it this way. How long can I last over nine holes? As opposed to can I beat you? The cameras are out. You never know. Well, usually that’s my downfall, right? We’ll we’ll decide who’s going first. Me. I’ll I’ll take the I’ll take the one. Where are you thinking the line is here for you, Finn? Been toll over that left bunker. And the funny thing is, look what Finn’s got in his hand. And look what I’ve got in my hand. So, we’re playing a flat match off the back tease here at Langel. Neither of us have played here before, so there’s a little bit of a scouting mission, too. Right. Yeah. Nice. Yeah, good shot. Is that good? That’s the line. Yeah, that’s good. Fab. Follow that then. Yeah, follow that. Laying the gauntlet down early. Wow. Oh my. Still in the air past my ball. It’s a lot, isn’t it? Nice shot. You’re in for a treat. You’re in for a real treat today. Jeez, does it come out nice. So you turned pro after only playing golf for five years, right? Pretty much. Yeah, pretty much. Yeah. And in that space of playing golf for five years, you got to plus five. Yeah. Now, most people play golf for 5 years and they’re at like an 18 handicap. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Well, we’re in the presence of greatness today. We’re playing a flat match with our series of beat the elite and we’re playing Larel off the backs. Neither of us have played here before, so there’s a little bit of guess work on our lines. We have got a bit of a GPS that’s going to help, but I think this is going to be a tough ass for me. There’s going to be a distinct difference in how far I hit it to you hit it, mate. The YouTube cameras are out. Never played on this kind of pressure before. So, you’ve nearly driven the first green. Let’s put this in perspective. I hit a very nice drive. Look where Finn’s ball is. What do you think you flight that mini driver at? 285 290 off the tea. And what’s going to be really special for you today, we will get the full swing kit out and give you some numbers on a few of the holes. And what is even more exciting about this golf course is there’s some very reachable par fours. We’ve been said, well, you’ve seen it here. The first 70 yards. I’m still in awe of how you’ve hit that. Did you say you got quite aggressive game? Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Don’t don’t like laying up overly much. Soft. Soft. Yeah, nice soft. I’m pretty happy with that. I thought it was going to get a little bit of a kick in kicking around. Really take it. I mean, we had a few putts on the putting green and they are slick. Very, very slick. Talk me through your process here, Finn. Then you’re taking a few steps up. Yeah, just having a look at the green. Just see what we’re working with really. See what shots needed. Have you seen how far that went when he gets driver out? Tell you what, I’ve I’ve done well here. I’ve put him under a bit of pressure actually putting it inside 10 ft. I’m happy with myself there. It was a good little shot. Good little shot. No, Finn. This is a good little shot. That was more of a full pitch. So, how you seeing it then? Talk me through this. Looks like it’s breaking a little off the left. So, probably three cups left. Low, medium, high flight. Yeah, low. 58. Trying a new technique out with the pitch at the moment. So, is this something you’ve been working on? Yeah. Just especially on this grass quite hard to chip off most time. Yeah, it’s quite thick. It’s like grainy. Yeah, 58. And just check her in there hopefully. Well, you described it. You couldn’t start with it. I think that’s a gimme. I’m going to have to hold a put. Very nice. Very impressive. I mean, that’s a way to throw the ball doing. Well, I mean, match play. Match play. So, yeah. Well, yeah. How do you read putt? So, you aim point. Uh, I do a bit of plunge bob as well. Ah, and then interesting like old school. Yeah. And see it off that. I have to frack your brains on that and talk me through how you do it. I feel like I should learn a point just for the sake of learning it. I’m the same. I I’ve never learned it. And um I’ve got that burning question. You see so many of the top guys do it right. Well, this is off the left. This needs to drop to have the first hole. I mean, it just made that first hole look unbelievably easy. Well done. Well done. Clutch. Clutch. I thought it was just going to drop on this side. I thought it was going to be short. Whole halved in threes. Birdie birdie. Gimme birdie. Finn. And uh a bit more of a hard work birdie for me. Told you in for a treat. big match this 225. What are you going to go with? I think I might go with four. I don’t want to leave it short in those bunkers. I think I’m going to have to go two iron. Look at the length of your your four iron is length of my two iron. What’s your spec? Uh over eight iron is inch 3/4. But then I think my 58 should look at this. This is my should be the same length as your six iron. Yes. So that’s my 58 versus your 600. And how many And how many degrees upright? I think they play 8, seven. Yeah. I’m like half not a normal spot. I’m like half a degree flat. These are beautiful, aren’t they? Those. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, my clubs aren’t ideal for people testing. Put it that way. No, but get fitted for what you get fit for, right? Yeah. Exactly. Do you change often your clubs? Uh, well, I have done because obviously I wasn’t this tall when I was Yeah. 16. So I’ve had to change and length goes up. I got quicker shafts stiffer. So yeah, I probably had four sets of fines in five years. Do you work on your speed? Is that something you work on or just like only only in winter? Like I’m doing it now. So what does that look like? Just got to 130 club head speed. So that’s pretty quick. That’s pretty quick. If I told you about 112 on the golf course. So but how do you work on that? Like what you doing in the winter? Well, weirdly I got a little lesson from Bryson. Um actually Bryce. Yeah. Yeah. We we kind of me and my dad rebuilt his clubs after the second round of the open. Was this at Scotsdale or? Yeah. Yeah. So I was there then. So I was like there doing all the golf club stuff. So I was just hitting the hit the net and he came over and he just What was that like out? Yeah. It was very cool. Every day. Uh so it’s basically swing as hard as you can. don’t care how the ball goes for like five balls and then go back to smooth, back to hard as he can and he just slowly builds that baseline up and up and up. So, it’s about I say Matt Fitzpatrick is something similar, right? He he’s he’s worked on that and even if you hear like Rory when he does the same thing like lose all care of where the you have to but just so what’s your what does your baseline start at and then what’s it got to 130 but what does it start at? Yeah. Uh well, this it’s all on quads. Everything measures different. Um it’s generally I go and I start swinging 125. Yeah. Like just as is. And then you get up and up and up and up and up. Yeah. I might have to wind you up and get you tip on really hard just so we can really see up your shoulders. It’s almost like a short path four. You got the trees over hanging on the left as well. I wasn’t thinking about them, Finn. As a fader of the golf ball, they’re really on my ey line, but I’m going two iron. I will take anywhere around the green. This course’s defense, the par threes, especially right off the backs. Oh, please fade like you normally do. Get a piece. Mr. Tree, do something great. The tree. Yeah. On the fringe. I don’t think so. I am over the moon with that shot. That’s very nice. I will not be going over fader. What shot do you usually play? Generally very neutral. I can Yes. I don’t really mind comfort shot obviously just chop down and hit the fade. Yeah. But but genuinely just quite a straight neutral. Yeah. Yeah. This one I’m going to want to play and I’ve also this season I kind of I’ve stopped trying to just draw and fade it at two yards cuz it’s so difficult like you overdo it a bit and it’s in the So So interestingly you’re trying to play more or trying to play it straight? Yeah, trying to play more. So here I’m going to try to play a draw. I’ll be probably going just over right edge of that green and then just trying to work it in. Let’s see it. Stop turning. Wow. I mean, you called it and you delivered. What a shot that was. I mean, the ball flight on that, it literally like you described middle of that green. Yeah. And what’s that? Uh 10 maybe 15 ft. I just feel if you turn it, you know you’re turning it, so you can just turn it. That’s interesting. Weird way to think about it, but I find it more comfortable. I think I need to be more in that. I’m trying to like You just said when you said it, I was like, you’re describing how I feel like I was trying to play like a two yard fade with a two iron. It makes you tense. It’s like, yeah. Yeah. See, told you you would learn something from these guys. Told you’d learn something. This is a little sneaky pin. It is. Like for a bloody long par three. I think this is just sort of two putt territory. It’s going to move up and to the right a little bit. I thought for half a second I was going to stay up. That’s good. That’ll work. I walked up slowly there. So, talk me through plump bubbing then. Like what what is that? Uh so you to get the balance point of the putter on the shaft. Yeah. Which is there. And I’ll use that point here. Hang it over the ball. So this is a little right. So I hang it over the right hand of the ball. gives me a gauge kind of it’s saying just over here. Yeah. And then I’ll It’s not 100%. So then I’ll look behind it, see it. You sort of build it into the story of what you’re seeing. Who taught you that? Uh I can’t I think it was myself to be fair. I just tried it. I was just looking at different ways of reading it and came across it. Cuz like what reason I ask is like cuz then you only started like 5 years ago. It’s like sort of like a an old school thing to do. Like I don’t know if it was maybe your dad or something like that. No, no, it’s just Yeah, it just came across. All right, there’s a birdie just to go one up. Have you seen the start like that? Driver flick, five iron, 224 yards is 15 ft. Thanks very much. Alex is one down, mate. That was impressive. Cheers, mate. That was seriously impressive. Wow. Wow. Wow. Wow. Now, what you’ll see is right near Well, I’m going to say the landing zone, but I’m going to say my landing zone, uh, there is two bunkers on the right hand side, and then the green is guarded, well, it’s quite a wide green from left to right, but it’s guarded by a huge chasm bunker on the right hand side. But green keepers are being fairly kind today. This flag is on the left hand side. So I’m one down. I don’t mind being one down. Two under through two and one under through two. Deserves it. Unbelievable golf so far. What you thinking here then? It looks kind of tight if I was hit driver. So yeah, I think two arm would get me there today. Obviously being downwind uh downhill. Driver gets me there today. I hit that many draw again. I think that was Is that how you play in a tournament? If you if there’s a practice round and and you’d be thinking we drive a tournament here. Yeah. I mean, would driver gain anything? Not not too much here really, is there? So, no, but it does bring more risk in. I don’t know what what is on the left there, but I think it’s just trees, but yeah, it’s definitely a little bit tight around that landing zone here. I’m just not not sure. You got the cover on those? I should do. No, don’t think so. In the bunker. Yeah. Very nice. We’ve done it. There we found. Lovely shot. I haven’t got any better in my locker than that. What what do you reckon I could get to speedwise? What are you at? Course 112. It just depends on how hard you work. I guess it’s a it’s a great answer. Fair enough. Yeah. Spoken like a politician. It’s depends how hard you work. Hold it. That’s why you aim right. I mean, it’s turned out fine. It’s turned out pretty good in the presence of greatness right here. Like, why do you think you got good so quick? Generally, probably the people I was around. We kind of There’s four of us kind of when we all started. Yeah. And I mean, one of us I’m a pro now, one of us plus four, one of us out in America, the other stopped playing golf, but just had a really good kind of friendship and system around. We were all just challenging each other. Yeah. The whole time. So I I think it’s mad. I was saying this when we uh played with Ollie, who you actually know, like you’re almost like a product of what you’re around when you’re at a young age. Yeah. And if you’re around like really talented people, then you’re going to progress way quicker. Yeah. It’s so safe. Very safe. That there. Where did that go? Don’t know. There’s got to be a drop there. That was the maddest thing ever. Oh no, it’s there. It’s just in front just miles away. It’s like you got a massive ridge to put over. I just uh couldn’t I just couldn’t force myself to aim at it cuz if you miss left, I just feel like you’re going to be dead. That’s one of the big things between the amateur and well my amateur mindset and the pro mindset there. Aim amateur mindset. I would have gone straight at the pin, pulled it, and I’m down here. Now, even your mindset’s changed since pro. That’s one of the biggest things cuz really I had no right going for it there, did I? Out of position. No. So, yeah, just being more sensible around where I’m actually aiming. And now I aim at a green and pulled it and I’ve got a what 15T for birdie. So, it’s just you know what I’m going to say? Don’t Don’t mark the Don’t do you place your ball just just in don’t don’t do preferred lies. Oh, right. Yeah. Just in case. I mean, I don’t want to say the word, but I think you get what I’m trying to say. Yeah. And the viewers know what we’re trying to say. Right. This is this is this is the difference between my mindset and Finn’s mindset. I wimped out. Even just couldn’t even force myself to go, okay, hit a good shot down there in middle of the green. I just wimped out. I mean, it’s not too bad, but look at the difference. I know he he didn’t hit a great one, but it’s turned out great. That’s it. That’s it. Good effort. I felt like I had to probably hold that. It’s mad because if I didn’t get it literally even just to there Yeah. It’ll stop. It’ll stop. Yeah. Oh, referee. That is a filthy lip out. That’s it. Sorry. Be very hard on there. You got a little part here for the half. I know. Little smelly left to right across the slope. This is the stay one down. That I walked and it started to dive down here. Big put. Good. Big put. The was one of the biggest things I’d say like I’m interested to know your opinion on this like things like that happen on the golf course and your reaction was it happens doesn’t it like has that changed when you’ve gone from amateur to pro as well like have you been a bit more accepting of bad stuff will happen I think we just leave it here mate to yeah definitely because I mean mindset’s the biggest thing on the golf course is that’s going to turn around people struggle with though yeah but it’s just putting yourself in scenario every time. Do it again and again and again and again and do that same scenario again and again and again again and you’ll soon learn that it’s not helping. I see. So, and then yeah, you kind of just Do you see Do you see anybody for that area of the game? What’s that? Sorry. Do you see anybody for that area of the game? Uh yeah, I see a guy just at um the course I remember at called Chris. He’s he’s great. And yeah, I feel like mindset’s one of the things you got to learn. Someone can tell you something, but it doesn’t mean you’re going to do it because you haven’t experienced it yet. I don’t mean this in a patronizing way at all, but like you’re speaking like beyond your years. Like I wouldn’t I’m speaking from like my point of view. Like I wouldn’t have had that mindset at your age. Yeah. I was like I said this before, but I’m like a I was like a hotheaded Yeah. Well, I was as well. I I was throwing clubs, all sorts, banging the ground. Yeah. I think we’ve all been there. If you’re competitive, you’re gonna have that mindset. So, but yeah, it’s just learning. Wow. Especially like when you come from football background. Yeah. When you get angry some of the time, it will help you because you get more aggressive and pumps you up a bit, doesn’t it? But then golf, it will just completely some some people like Hatton and Ram, they love it. But I think for the average person, it’s just going to I’d agree with I’d agree. What we thinking? I think can I get over the stream is what I’m thinking. over the stream. How far is the stream? 310. But there’s no land there, so I won’t be doing that. But it isn’t to win. But really, if the if if if there was a landing area, would you go for that? Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Definitely. But there’s not, so I won’t. Yeah. Just probably two wine down the left. Two wind down the left. So on line with the path on the left hand side. Yeah. that that tree probably just on a little low kind of bullet fl nice ball just as you described. Yeah. Yeah. Don’t cut. I thought I was just going to carry on cutting then for a second. Perfect. What does a general day look like for you then? Uh gym in the morning. A lot of it kind of technique based. Yeah. when I get to go golf have a few things, but at the moment really it’s all just kind of tempo and just going through the the drills to not lose a swing because you got it’s all well and good getting there, but you then got to keep it. That’s a big thing that I’ve struggled with just getting a nice swing and then it goes and so you do the gym, you go and do some technical work. Yeah. Then you go and play. Yeah. Play nine or three or however many dep just depends on and then the afternoon afternoon will be kind of have a full swing. I go on the combine on that chipping and put in and then yeah it’s kind of but there’s a lot of testing what you’re doing right? Yeah. Yeah. You can’t practice technique for a full day. It got to be some kind of measurement of how you get them better. So that’s the thing that I think I need to improve upon cuz like my whole goal of doing these videos is to see how good I can get again. Right. Yeah. Um and put myself against the best people. What would be the biggest piece of advice? Like in practice. In terms of practice, in practice, get your pitching numbers dialed. Yeah, that’s I mean I think good guys are three yards either side like the best we’re pitching. You go in, they’ll be three yards either side no matter what. Yeah, that’s probably the biggest thing and doing a test on it. So technique and testing that as well and knowing those numbers under pressure. Yeah. Yeah. Well, it’s all the advice that we’ve probably heard before, but we do act to action it. And I’m saying that myself like so many times like good players like yourself have gone, “Know your pitching.” And I’ve done nothing about it. Yeah. Which is stupid. It’s not fun practice it. Well, it depends. But how far is this? 140. I’m hitting nine on it cuz my pitcher wedges in England at the moment. Solid. Oh no, that is not a good shot. First loose one. Got a go it. I think I fatted that. Yeah. Any pitching yardages. It’s probably the weakest part of my game. Okay. On the next T, I’m thinking they might have a driver out. So, there’s going to be some data here which you’re going to see some very, very impressive numbers. Not finished too bad there, Finn. So, I think it’s him to play and not with me. Go left. Go left. Nice try. Yeah. Unfortunate laugh. We’re all square. managed to claw one back there with a four. Not covered ourself in glory on that hole. But one thing I would say, right, that pit shot, yeah, it wasn’t good. But probably in the past, I’d be like, “Yeah, it’s an all right shot.” When you play with guys like Finn, it like raises your standards of what you think is good, but then also then that’s going to raise your game. So playing more of these with like the elite players we can get our hands on, like I keep saying, you’re going to learn a lot cuz I’m going to learn a lot and they’re going to raise both of our games. The first time Finn has had chance to get his driver out. We’ll get some data. This is the fifth hole here. 402 meters right off the backs. How’d you get it? Bit towy. Bit towy. Not ideal really. So give me a mark out of 10. Seven. Well, it was nice. Went dead straight, but 325. Yeah. nonchalant. Now, I want to see what club head speed numbers. We’ll leave mine on here in a minute. 120 club head speed, 179 ball speed. Yeah, a bit slow. It wasn’t a great swing. I haven’t got any better in my locker then. I’ve actually tried to give that a little bit more. That’s nice. It’s just nowhere near 289 total. Oh, look at this. So 289 total. 110 club head speed. 162 ball speed. They’re good numbers. Yeah. What’s the spin on that? You’re being kind. You’re being kind. The spin on that is you wrong way. 28 bit sp. Yeah, I got it. A that’s decent though. It I’m happy. I guess you dad being like you said a good player or was a good player. Has he had any influence on on your game? Oh, definitely. Yeah. Yeah. He’s Yeah. I don’t want to talk about that. No. No. Yes. Yes. Um, yeah, he’s been very good help. Has he c for you at all? He has. Uh, what’s it like? I know like when I’ve had my dad cry for me in the past, like it’s probably one of the hardest things. Yeah, it’s very it’s really tough on it cuz you’ll have it you’ll have it in the car back if nothing’s going good. But yeah, it’s probably I I could play in front of thousands of people, but when it’s just in there, it’s probably the most pressure. I’m sure you’ll know as well. I feel like everyone’s the same. Yeah. Yeah, it’s the same. And they don’t mean to be that way. It’s just just Yeah, it just happens. It’s your own It’s your own way of doing it, isn’t it? Like And you want to You want to prove something as well, right? Yeah. Yeah. Exactly. All right. If you lose some Oh, god. You tell me the end of it. 179. I’ve got You probably got 79. All right. That’s just a seven iron for me. It’s the worst shot of the day. What is that heel? Oh, nearly missed it. Don’t go in the bunker. That was just wasn’t committed to anything. Where I was aiming in, what club I was in. The epitome of not being in the shot. Doors wide open. Doors wide open. Need to go back one up. Call it. Do you like it? Just pulled a bit, but yeah, I think the numbers decent. It looked like it pitched perfect long maybe. Where’s that kicked? Five yards further. That Oh, no. They’re going to come all the way down. All the way down there. Oh, no. Five yards further. It might have been pretty good. Are you joking me? Giving it the full spiel. That was a pretty easy bunker shot. And I think it’s a 75 ft. just uh get this down the hole and see if Finn can convert. Wow. Feeling pretty confident about this hole now. I don’t I’m just going to bark it, but I don’t think I’m going to need it. Ah, great drive. And then just a little skinny one right out of position, but it didn’t need much more. Oh, nice. Turn. Cheers. Backed one up. Very good. Thank you. Very good. I’m one down. Finn’s one up through the first five. Hammer and thong. It’s good match so far. I have five iron. Finn has six iron. It’s going to be okay. Your club got like stuck on the ground. Yeah, like the little bit of grass. It’s going to be joining me. I think healed. Go. It’s definitely stalling up there. Yeah, about that. Yeah, I think I maybe needed one more. Yeah. Or a different flight. Like, how do you rate your chipping? Good part. your game chipping probably one of the worst parts of my game to be fair. Um something I’m guessing you’re working on. Yeah, that’s why I said on the first the new technique kind of thing. Just Yeah. And what is that? What have you been working on? Uh you heard that Joseph M. Yeah. Very much sort of leading edge. Yeah. But still staying like shallow. It’s like getting more vertical than Well, it’s funny when you say that. I um had a lesson off Jamesard. All right. And uh I’ve been very much sort of chipped my whole life a little bit like this. Not my whole life actually. When I was a kid, I chipped like this. Yeah. Yeah. And then I’ve got into this. Use the bounce. God knows why. And then he was literally like, “Why are you doing that?” Yeah. And got me trying to play it with like so much. There was definitely like a craze, wasn’t there, for the bounce. Well, use the bounce at one point. I think there’s a certain book that’s made that quite popular. Yeah, I know the one. And account is great for some people. I think I took it too literally. Yeah. Like that. It’s so difficult cuz that’s the only way you get it close, isn’t it? Yeah. Sort of get a good grab so much. Great golf shot. Very nice. See my club? How much it dug in there? Yeah. Oh, you don’t actually need that, do you? Thought you’ be quite harsh there. I thought you put that. That’s that so hard that that grain into you. All right. Managed to scratch me way through a park. Could get one back. Get it back to all square. I don’t know how that missed. So all square. square then managed to claw one back there. How many holes we got left? Three. Three holes left. Yeah. Oh, square with three to play. Make sure you stick around cuz it’s getting a little bit tense. First par five on the seventh. All down the right. Perfect. Frozen rope. A I’m going to say it again. Like I said before, I haven’t got much better. I’m not going to tell you how far it’s gone. That spins are very good. Yeah, 26. That was bad. It went shorter. I’m not going to even show you. 161.8 ball speed. That’s really good for me. I’m really happy with that. Should be okay there. Should be by the looks of things. Yeah, it’s sound. Yeah, absolutely sound. 186 ball speed, 128 clubber. You weren’t lying before. 128. Wow. Wow. Wow. Wow. It doesn’t even look like you’re trying to hit it hard. I know. I think it’s cuz of my height. Yeah, but but still like I still think it Yeah, that’s what I mean. It’s like you’ve got the height and the levers, but Yeah. You’re still not trying to like smash it. Smash it. No. No. Even when I am smashing it, it still don’t look overly quick. What’s the flag there, F? It gives us a bit of an idea on there. 256 yards. All right. Yeah. What’s that on her? Middle grain. That is too. Yeah. I’ve just It’s a stupid idea that for me. Not even going to entertain it. Like not going for it. Don’t even try and go me into it. It’s not going to happen. Perfect lining. I’ve just carried this around 256. You’re not hitting DoD. No. You know you want to. I do want to. You know you want to. But it’s not going to work, mate. I’m just going to be absolute wimp and got this right inside. It’s being boring for the viewers. That’s not what the viewers want to see. They want to see aggressive. No, don’t do it. All you are is your miss is right. So, you’re perfectly fine on the right if you hit it. Okay. Okay. You give if you can sell it to me in the next 10 seconds why I should hit a drive off the deck, I’ll do it. How far is it? It is 256 yards. That’s absolutely fine. How far is that bunker at? How far is front of the green? Front of the green. Here you go. Go on. Sell it to me. It’s only 229. Front of the green. Yeah. Okay. Go a three-wood for me. Just dumb me. Any dumb me. It could be a worldy shot. Could be a worldy me. Shot of a lifetime. I’m going to aim at the flag and just hope it bleeds. Go. Oh, we’re over. There you go. It bounced. How much movement did that have on it? Not bad. I’d say I’m pretty good at drive the deck because I I’m fade. Well, try always trying to fade it. So, it’s always natural. Pretty good. Right. You probably got seven iron in. Did you get it? I think so. It looks great. Yeah, it’s on there. Just a high raking two iron casually. That was nice. Oh, it’s checked on you big time. End up down here. When I hit that, I was happy with that. Yeah, you got a nice P now as well. Like I was all I was trying to do is basically stop it where you’re stood. It’s a tough chip. But it’s like Well, hindsight’s a great thing. Jeez. Now I’ve got the world’s hardest putt. What’s yours doing, Finn? I got another two t again, but it’s going to bleed bleed right on me a bit. I think mine’s going to come somewhere like through here. Finn’s got his eagle in this hole. If he holds this, he goes one, but I’ve got 20 ft for a birdie. This is the little thing where you see the difference between like his level and where I am at right now. Go on then. Oh god. Less pace. That might have dropped. That’s fine, mate. Yeah. Yeah, that’s fine. Thank you. So, this needs to drop. Oh, come on. Loves it. Very well. That’s not I mean I’m literally clawing on right here. Wasn’t expecting that. No, I wasn’t expecting that either. Hence the celebration. Wow. Big put for me there. All square two to play. I had a feeling I might have had to hold mine. I had a feeling over it. I didn’t have that feeling. I thought you had two put and you were going to be good. I’m going to go threewood. In fact, I’m going to go probably two iron. I It’s one of them like threewood. I could go over the green. Yeah, I’m Yeah, I’m thinking like a Are you hitting two grip down high cut to take a bit off right in between it? I’m going to go two. That flag’s saying it’s Yeah, just straight across. Try and use it a little. Don’t know. Big kick. Big kick. I mean, it’s the right club. Yeah. I was really just trying to use that a lot. Yeah. I think I I had to get bleeding on it. If I didn’t, it was never going to get there. Pin high. It’s not too bad when you’re hitting too high in high court. Beautifully talked about. Too much. I mean I mean Finn, come on. You say too much. It’s coming down as well. You’ve hit it to 20 ft. That is more than 20 ft. Okay. 40 ft. Yeah, it’s all right. Too much. It’s it’s you take on this kind of path really. So, what were you how much you taking off that then to play that? About 20 yards. That’s Yeah. Big thing also trying to do is take yardage off just through the shape. Like the last I hit a high high draw. Yeah. Try and get most out of there. Just high cut just to kind of It’s a bit weaker. You know, when you’re putting, why do you take your practice strokes behind it like fight face onto it? It’s a mental thing. when I was doing the practice states beside it. Yeah. They were really aggressive, long, quick. So I And then I kind of use it for reference. Yeah. Took the pace out of it. So I go behind it now and I just swing the putter but only visualize the ball. I don’t think about pace or anything. Just see the line of the ball. Is that something Phil Kenyon work with you on? Actually, Chris but something obviously you’ve actually worked on. Yeah. Put into the routine. Yeah. It see definitely help with the pace pattern. Oh yeah, clearly it is closer than I thought to be fair. I’ll give it to him. That is a monster of a par three. Not far from pin high too. No. Five short. Yeah, in terms of pitch. Yeah, probably about better. I’m just sat down a little bit here. I haven’t played out that rough yet. Yeah, it’s just a bit grabby. Yeah, all the grass isn’t it? That makes it really hard. Right. This has to put some pressure on you here. Don’t want to go behind the eight ball going down the last too much. Nice put that puts the pressure on you again. It does across the slope left to right. I had one of these in a second. No, it’s not the way you like to win. Unlucky. It just squirted right on me. One down. It’s all come down to this. Can I get a half long? So definitely advantage fin in terms of length. Oh, that was such a good chip. I find left to right puts so hard. Yeah, I just don’t I think cuz I’m like up and out of it sometimes. more of a tendency to push it. Yes. Which is why I find them hard. Like frustrating. Feel just gifted a hole there. Gifted you a few. Yeah. You have a few 600 yard par five. You know what that means? This Well, I the best I can get out of this is a half. Like the best. But there’s one man that can reach it in two and it ain’t me. Still a big hit in two. Yeah. But you can get home in two, right? Two good hits cuz if you hit it 320 you’ve what? You can get three wood a uh deep drive dirt. Yeah deep. Would you would you use mini driver? Yeah definitely. Yeah. Yeah. One down. Going down a 600 yard par five. I’m going to run and jump at it just to get close. I think I’m going to have to as well to be fair. Wow. Get right. Miss it. Miss it some. Just do something. I can’t see that far. 304 carry 22 spin. So 187 ball speed. It’s quick, isn’t it? You could say that. Boom. Just a little fadey down there. Is that okay? Yeah. Yeah. Rolling 161 ball speed, 264 carry, just 30 yards different. You know, you hit it really like neutral for somebody hits it so hard in the sense of like how like fast your ball speed is as in what height or height fly doesn’t have much deviation forwards. Yeah, it’s very very impressive. Very impressive. I like that. 327 yards. There’s no prayer on this earth that I can get there in two. So, I’m just going to hit two iron down there. Wait, where’s that bunker? What’s that bunker there? Roughly then that comes in. Uh 210 for that. I think I’m just going to have to lay up short that bunker. You’re free will not carry that now. Okay, we’ll do it. Listen, I’m listening for I’m being defensive thinking of it. Knob it in it. Beautiful. There we go. Two shots you’ve talked me into that I would never hit and I just laid up short there at that bunker. Really intense. Really want to get half it. Yeah. Two 270 a we going with just mini driver. Wow. Wow. Oh, wow. Please be the club. Yeah, that’s that’s that’s as good as it gets. Oh my god. What have I just dream about that tonight? I’m going to dream about that tonight. What have I just witnessed? Hey, that’s a joke. If I put it close, there’s a chance. Exactly. Oh, I just haul it. I would love to see that. That would be scenes. Come on. Yeah. No, nearly. Just a little bit short. Know your numbers, Alex. Still a nice shot. You got a pot. That’s all you can say about that. Ah. See like that there. I reckon there’s like four shots today that I’ve left out there with pitches like this. Yeah. Yeah. I need to get those a bit tight. Look where you pitched. I just You don’t deserve to do that yourself. I’ll do that. Oh, thank you. What’s that? Two. Yeah. 275 carry odd off the deck. Yeah. With a mini driver. Just like that. Come on. Just roll this in for eagle. This will be so nice to see. Go on then. Go on then. Let’s give it a go. Oh yeah, 100%. Especially the position I’m in. I’m here for three. Yeah, have to drop. If it doesn’t, that’s the match there and now. Well done, mate. Really good fun, mate. Thanks so much. Appreciate it. It’s great to see such a talent play golf. Like, wow. I don’t think I’ve ever seen anything so impressive. Cheers, guys. Thanks so much for watching and don’t forget to check out Finn and his journey all the way to getting on the water tour. You did enjoy it, don’t forget to subscribe. Hey.
re you born with Bryson-level speed… or can you build it?
After coaching more than 9,000 golfers, not one has had Bryson DeChambeau’s insane distance at his age so today, I’m putting myself to the test. Can I beat him over 9 hoels?

Also how’s my game looking?
#4 seeing his laser shot on a layup was so impressive.
When you say 264 carry, are you talking meters or yards?
Finn looks a great prospect, and such a good personality. You played well Alex, unlucky mate.
Great Video Alex. Finn mature beyond his years.
Wow! That’s was some amazing putting Alex!!
being that tall is a def advantage when it comes to distance
WOW!
Llarjal is the easiest of the three Quinta’s!!
Dude has some leverage with that arm length and height. After 5 years is amazing
Great match 👏
Everyone wins with this series. Alex hosts extremely well
DID not fill your divete with sand
More of this mate, absolutely superb video, look forward to these now as much as Peter Finch's videos, playing really well, if your bad strikes still get you on or close to the green, that's a good place to be, keep it up mate! Finn was absolutely class as well, that 2 iron to set up an Eagle putt was sensational!
Great match, you both make golf look easy.
5 years to go from starter to pro. Wow!
Alex's inferiority complex in virtually every interaction😂😂😂
great kid , great swing
I played this course in March this year. Was +10 through 8 and finished the 18 holes +9 (-2 for the remaining 10 holes). Amazing course. Well played to both of you!
Kids a little bit of a know at all, especially when he says chippings the weak part of his game and then he criticizes people who say to use their bounce.. I guess you don’t know you don’t know … bounce Is there for a reason..
He looks like a top talent. I don't think I've heard anyone get to that level so quickly. Although I must say, you held your own there. What's your handicap?
If your club speed is 125 MPH without speed training, you definitely have quite a bit of talent for the sport 🙂 Of course, height will always be an advantage when it comes to creating effortless speed.
👍
If you walked up to the green in front of me…. on the approach shot…….you'd have hell to pay…….
No one I played with would hit a fairway bunker…….
What’s this golfer’s name?
Dear Alex,
Great video — fantastic course and impressive players. Just a small note: it would be great if you could fill your divots with sand after each shot. You’ve got the sand bottle right on the cart, and as you’ll see in the U.S., this is taken very seriously. Even Bryson makes sure every divot is properly filled to leave perfect conditions for the players behind him.
Best regards,
Great video and insights. Thanks, Alex!
why does every youtuber and now including Alex as well feel the need to make it out that the most important thing in golf is how far you hit, and how fast your swing is?
it's getting old to be honest.
Then we have players like Bryson, who has a 5-wood with 9° and 45.25" shaft, and for those of you how know golf specs understands that those are driver specs.
Just saying for us "normal" golfers, it is getting so old
