I’m just trying to figure out why one benq4k can be almost $5,000 and the other $2,000.
Also can these projectors be used as a big screen tv/movie screen when not being used for golf?

Lumens – huge gap. There are other features, but lumens is the answer and it’s not close.

1900 more lumens of brightness (3200 vs 5100) and far more contrast (600,000:1 vs 3,000,000:1) will make for a much better picture in all lighting conditions. That lumen jump alone is probably most of the price, as many consumer projectors don’t even get 2000 lumens, and brightness is a huge representation of potential picture quality.

Read up on lumens, what it means and how it impacts the image quality. It mostly has to do with how bright the picture will be and how dark the room has to be for the image to look good/bright. Lumens goes up, cost goes up…if they go down cost goes down (if everything else is generally the same. Not going to comment on Carls Place. There are plenty of folks on here that have used them and can give you direct feedback. I pieced mine together from another/other suppliers.

I’ve got the $2000, and it’s great in a semi dark room. In a brightly lit room, it looks washed out and faint. I imagine the $5000 one will work perfectly in a fully lit room.

I have the TK710sti, in part because I could not justify for myself the extra cost of the LK936ST for my setup. As others said, the brightness seems to be the main difference between these two models.
If helpful, my setup is in a garage whose only real natural light source is the window panel/glazing/lite on the top half of an exterior access door ~25ft from the impact screen. During bright daylight hours with all interior garage lights turned off, the picture from the TK710sti is awesome. No complaints. If the garage door is open or interior garage lights are on (other than the directional spotlights I installed that point at the hitting mat), the picture will be a bit washed out but still useable. It really comes down to how bright your use case environment will be.

I work in the electrical field and deal with a lot of AV vendors . Are there projectors specifically for gold simulators or can one get any projects with particular specs? Thanks

I also have the TK710sti. Installed in March. It’s great with lights off. When used with lights on, not so great. If I had it to do over, I would have spent the extra money for the 936 model.
