As President Donald Trump’s eldest grandchild Kai Trump embarks on her golf career in the LPGA Tour, she’s built a very large following of both supporters and haters. The latter group have found a new nickname for her.
The 18-year-old golfer competed in The Annika down in Florida as an amateur. It hasn’t gone well. She ranked 108th out of 108 – dead last – on Thursday after finishing 13 shots over par.

Given a lot of the hype that Trump’s supporters had for her LPGA debut, detractors decided to rib her by giving her some colorful nicknames, mostly centered on the term “DEI.”
The Nicknames
“DEI Golfer Kai Trump played her first round on the LGPA tour today- an invitation that was granted to her over more qualified athletes- & she finished dead last with a 13-over-par,” one user on X mocked.
“The DEI entry, Kai Trump, shot a 13-over 83 on Thursday in her LPGA Tour debut at The Annika, leaving her in LAST PLACE in the 108-player field. She bogeyed the first 4 holes & finished the BIRDIE-LESS round with 9 bogeys and 2 double bogeys,” another wrote.

“Kai Trump. The fastest DEI hire from the trump administration.”

That’s pretty harsh. To her credit, Kai Trump has rebounded from Thursday’s struggles with a better Friday. She had her first birdie of the tournament at hole No. 3 and an impressive par save at No. 2. Even so, she won’t be making the cut at this tournament.
Suffice it to say, Trump isn’t quite ready to be the dominant tidal wave of golf dominance that her grandfather was in politics.
But there’s still time to improve.
