In this episode of Bro Labs, I Created The Worst Golf Ball Launcher Injuries For Science! Sadly YouTube doesn’t approve of this experiment but sometimes that’s the price I must pay for my hard hitting science.

Three, two, one. Damn. You’re probably wondering how I got here. [Music] Oh no. Oh no. My god, that was so much. That was Oh my god. Oops. Too far. As it turns out, Scott also has a golf ball cannon. Before I get shot, I figured we should at least see what it can do. So, we got a skull over there. Let’s take a look at it. Yeah. You ready? Here we go. I think the golf ball’s in there. So, I got another golf video I’m going to do. So, I don’t think we actually need to do this. Well, I did those golf videos, and it turns out I do in fact need to do this. Introducing the Thumper, a 42mm golf ball launcher capable of 100 plus jewels in a distance over 100 yards. But how painful and damaging is getting hit by one? And more importantly, could it be a practical self-defense tool? to find out. I’m having Scott from Kentucky Ballistics put it to the test on me. How’s it going, Scott? Let’s play a game, Houston. A game? Yeah. When’s it going to come down? Why do you do that? You don’t have a helmet, Scott. I’m very excited for this one. I wouldn’t be. I Listen, I know you’re excited, too. I’m a little excited to hit you with golf balls. It’s going to be funny. You already kind of broke me in yesterday with the bola wrap. Now we’re getting to something that’s really damaging potentially. Very much so. Now, before we shoot me, I think it’s only responsible we can kind of see what this does on something that’s not me, right? So, I came up with a pretty ingenious test. It’s called the HPT, hand penetration test. For this video, we have two launchers. Okay. The one I just introduced, the Thumper. Thumper from Defense Innovations. Compressed air tank 100 plus jewels. We have one that’s much more powerful, which is what you’re holding. Yes. And this we’re on the fence with this one really when it comes to shooting with this one. This is the uh X Products can Cannon with the golf ball launcher. And this is powered by 5.56 blanks. It’s It’s really zingling them out there. Sure is. Uh but let’s shoot these both at the ham to kind of get an idea of what we’re working with today and then we’ll go from there. I think it’s a good idea. I’m excited. First ham penetration test is with the Thumper. We’re using a Nitro golf ball. It’s a distance golf ball, so very hardcore. Shooting about 15 feet. Yeah, we’re pretty close. I hopefully won’t miss. The optic’s not sided in. So, if he misses, it’s it’s not him. Thank you. Three, two, one. Oh, you hit it. Yeah. Where where were you aiming? Uh, kind of upper upper mid. So, you hit a little low. Put quite the dent in that. That’s actually a couple inches. Pretty impressive. Yeah. But that that ham is soft and spongy. It is. And I, you know, they’re not soft and carved out of marble, you know. So, Exactly. Maybe even something stronger than marble. Yeah. Like tungsten or something. Yeah. So, I mean, it’s not going to do that to you. No. No. Now, now we need to know though what’s going to happen if you were to get a really close shot with this thing. Yeah. The 5.56. I’m very interested. This was a a good uh good test. That’s about, you know, three inches in. Lodged in there solidly. Yeah. Oh, it was still in there. Yeah. No. That’s crazy. Uh-huh. Keep that for later. They’re pretty good. Yeah. It’s pretty tasty. Um the golf ball, not the ham. So, let’s try the 5.56. Same distance. If that went in 3 in, I think I think we might get through it. We might blow through it with this. Yeah. Full transparency, we did a test shot before we started filming and it just shot to the horizon. Yeah. It took off. It’s gone. And I think we killed a nest of birds. Still got a whole bloodline of squirrels probably. Let’s uh let’s hit it. Let’s hit the hand. Here we go. I’m just going to kind of get like this and uh one, two, three. Okay. Okay. Okay. Do you want to get hit with that one? Dude. Dude, it’s too much. What the What the heck? Look at this. Oh, this seems like a like a cartel gore video. Oh my gosh, it’s so gross. It mushed it. I think we cooked the ham from the golf ball shot. That is nasty. Straight through. As the young people would say, that ham is chopped. You already made that joke, Scott. You got another one? Um, what’s another word they use? I don’t know. Ratchet. It’s ratchet. Yeah. Yeah. Uh-huh. Yeah. So clearly the 5.56 launcher is much more powerful. Yes, very very much so. Straight through the ham makes me a little scared of it. So we’re going to start with the Thumper. We got a wide selection of golf balls going from soft ones uh training balls kind of foamy all the way up to your distance uh balls and even softer cord balls meant for less slicing. Right. Golf balls I would use if I was actually playing the course. Gotcha. Uh-huh. We’ll run through the golf ball selection with the Thumper, get a good gauge, and then decide what we shoot out of that. I really uh really don’t know if we should use this or not. Science says we might. You would definitely get a lot of data. Maybe some data on the ground in the trees. Maybe on me. Uh we’ll see. I would be losing data out of myself. Yeah. I got a data stopper though right here. Oh, you could Yeah. I forgot. I forgot how good his thumbs are at plugging things. Good to go. Okay. Well, what’ you do with that ham? Oh, it’s You want some? Yeah. I’m going to go get some bread. Okay. Yeah. Well, take five. We’re going to eat some ham up first with the thumper. We’re shooting Callaway foam training balls. They’re very, very squishy. I think they’re going to be pretty squirly. Hardly even fit in the thumper. So, I think we’re going to lose some air even. Since that’s the case, let’s get close. We’re going to shoot me right in the stomach here. Okay. I don’t think we can do that for some of the ladder balls. No. Yeah. No, not at all. Oh, don’t try anything you see in this video. They even say in the instructions not to shoot people. Bad. Don’t do it. We’re doing what you shouldn’t do, but it’s for science. So, we’re We’re professionals. We’re professionals. Professional idiots. Yeah, that’s what I was going to say. Yeah, we’re not smart. Uh, let the record show that I hate doing stomach shots with something like this, but at least it’s a foam ball. So, how bad could it be? Okay. Are you ready? I’m ready. All right. You want me to give you a countdown? Yeah. Three, two, one. I got him. That That got you pretty good. There’s a circle. You look like you got ringorm. Well, I do, but that’s not related to this. Okay. A lot of wrestling and we boys get sweaty. That’s good. Damn. For a foam ball. I wish it’s really soft. You could feel how soft that is. There’s a lot of squish to that. I mean, I can even squish it with like my get a a little bit with my pinky finger. I mean, it’s that’s about as squishy as a ball you could probably get, but that that was that had some sting to it. I don’t know. Do you I don’t know if you want to do any more stomach shots. Like, there is one that’s a little harder than that. Let’s do a back shot. Back shot. Okay. Back shot. Uh I learned a lot from that shot. And it’s that that shoots very hard. Okay. Especially at the range we’re using it, even if it’s foam. We got a harder practice ball. Oh, there’s green ones. So, I don’t know the brand of this, but uh it’s another foam ball, but much more dense. Way harder to push in. Considering how that has bruised me. Uh how about we shoot me in the back with this one. Okay, that that sounds like a good idea. Okay. After that, I think we just move to my legs. All right. Cuz everything after this is just a real golf ball. Yeah. Yeah. Okay. Well, I’ll load that up. Science hard foam training ball from the Thumper straight into my back. Hopefully the upper back. I’m going to try. You ready? I’m ready. Three, two, one. [Music] That was my spine. Was it? Yeah, that was right in my spine. I don’t think I did. I think I hit. You sure? Cuz if I turn around and there’s a circle on my spine. Let me see. That feels like my spine. Scott, dude, is that not my spine? It’s right your spine. I was aiming here. I aim there. So those balls, they’re squirly. Those balls hit low and to the right. I was aiming there. Thinking I’d hit low. Uhhuh. It It hit low, but that time to the right. I am really sorry about that. Um I didn’t do that on purpose. I was not aiming at your spine. It’s It’s fine. He said, “That’s my spine.” I’m so sorry. I like how you didn’t believe me, though. I did. I just I’m like, “That’s not where I was aiming. There’s no way.” There’s no way. Yeah. And it happened so fast I couldn’t tell. Probably festered a little bit here. It’s actually a perfect almost perfect shot right down the crease of your back. Like right down the middle. Yeah. Um definitely a harder ball. It sounded Yeah, sounded like it. The problem with these though, they don’t fit super snug into the ball. Yeah. There’s a lot of variation. It’s very squirly. Yeah. So, I think from here on, let’s go to real golf balls. Okay. Um, we’ll move to my leg. What I’m going to do for the leg shots, I’m going to do something I normally don’t do. I’m going to start with layers. Okay. Okay. You know, I’m always normally just getting shot in bare flesh. Kind of want to give the respect this thing is due. It shoots hard. Yes. Much harder than like a less lethal you would buy uh in terms of jewels. So, we’ll use some layers at first and then if I feel comfortable, I’ll uh do a bare skin shot with a real golf ball. See what we’re looking at. Sounds good. Science. Science. Okay. On to the real golf balls. We’re starting with a Callaway Super Soft. It’s called super soft, but the ball is in fact not super soft. Yeah. Super soft in comparison to what? I don’t know. I wouldn’t consider it soft. It feels like a rock. I think these balls are meant to stop slices cuz they’re a little the core may be a little bit softer. Yeah, I could be wrong about this. I’m sure people will correct me. We’re starting with this into my leg with some layers. I got joggers and a pair of shorts on. Nice. We should be fairly sighted in. Sighted in now. Yeah, we we saw how accurate that was. We’ll see how consistent it is out of this barrel and, you know, hopefully I hit where I’m aiming. About 30-ish feet away. Yes, 30 ft. We’re going to start here and then see how we progress. All right, here we go. Three, two, one. sided in him pretty good. How you doing over there? He’s quiet, so that’s not good. Don’t you think people owe me a like for how stoic I was? Absolutely. Yeah, I would have been screaming probably. I’m just really impressed with how good I got this sighted in. I hit exactly where I was aiming that time. That never happens here with these weird launchers. It’s pretty good. That will take skin off on bare skin. You think so? Yeah, because the texture of the golf ball itself is Yeah, it is kind of sticky. Yeah, that was awful. That was awful. So, how would that compare to like when you were getting just hit with a golf ball and a driver compared to that pain-wise? I felt more blunt. Yeah. Yeah. That being said, it’s been a couple years, so get hurt so many times. Yeah. You’ve been hit. It gets a little bit confusing. You hit me pretty square. Yeah. With that one, too. That was a lot of force transfer into my leg. That if you got hit I would say if you got hit in the head with that, you would be knocked out. Yeah. Yeah. You would that person would be unconscious unconscious 100% if not with some kind of broken orbital temple or something that would be bad. Judging from this I don’t know if the um the X products is going to be a good option. I other than just like a foam ball. Foam ball. Yeah. Yeah. But hold on. Before we say that, let’s shoot me bare skin. Okay. And see what happens. All right. If you know there’s a hole in my leg after that, maybe maybe you’re right. But if my there’s no hole, then maybe we do it. Yeah, maybe we do. We get a good ball. Bare skin thumper. Callaway golf ball. Super soft is Okay. Three, two, one. That was a good Okay, that my knee hurts. Your knee? You didn’t even shoot me in the knee. I didn’t hit him in the knee, though. I know that. But that’s a sign it really hit hard. Oh my dude, your uh your quad’s pretty messed up, bro. You think so, bro? Bro, you think so? I think it’s Give it Give it to me honest, bro. I think it’s pretty messed up, bro. Your leg’s twitching. Damn, brother. It’s bad. It’s probably a bad idea to do that, huh? You said your knee. I’m like, “No, I saw it.” So, there’s nerves, right? And the hard impact shot down to your knee. It’s into my knee. And if anything, my knee hurts worse than my leg. Really? Yeah. Cool. Yeah, that’s pretty bad. We’re not doing the 5.56 hard ball. No. No. I’m pretty sure I’m pretty sure if I hit you with that 5.56 hard ball with a blank, I think it it’d really mess up your quad like it like tear muscle. I agree. Yeah. No, I think it could separate muscle 100%. Yeah. For the record, that’s not for anything like this. It’s just for throwing balls as far as you can. So, this is also not for anything like this. Very true. Yeah. Yeah. It is not advertised as a less lethal. In fact, it’s advertised as like a fun It’s fun. It is fun. I’m having fun. I Oh, that much worse. By the way, I think it could have been where you hit me, but first shot, which is bruising nicely, but So, that time it hit exactly where I was aiming. Was it? Okay. I think there’s some variation because, you know, this is just a smooth board barrel. It’s just a golf ball. Well, there’s no way to really predict what friction’s going on in here. So, you’re going to have variations. Mhm. Yeah. Mhm. We have a ball that fits snugger into the thumper. Uhhuh. I’m very curious if it has more velocity since there’s less air escaping. Right. We will try that with clothes. Okay. With some layers on. All right. I think the layers definitely helped a little bit on the pain side. I did not have nerve pain on the first shot. Right. I also hit you a little further to the lumpy to the left here. You strip skin off, too. And there’s a little bit of data leakage on that one. What about We’re moving on to range balls. These particular range balls float in water. I don’t think that’s going to matter. The reason we’re shooting these is because they fit way more snug into the barrel. Yes. The other ones had a little give to them. Yes. So, probably more air was getting released. Not very much air is going to get released when we shoot this. So, back to getting shot with a couple layers. We have another video we’re going to film and I was going to save a leg, but I literally can’t. Yeah. So, that last shot was I hit you pretty hard. I’m going to give you a fresh leg for this shot. Okay. Same side profile, same distance, and let’s see what we think. I’m hoping I hit where I aim because I sided this in with those green balls. Yeah, this is going to be a little bit different. So, we got more compression in a different ball. So, I hope we hit in the same area. Hopefully, it doesn’t like Could it shoot straighter? It might. I’m guessing it may shoot high. Okay. Yeah. Well, knees are protected, so you’re good. We’re good. Still managed to cause you knee pain. Um, but that was If I was a wrestler, it’d be my signature move. It’s like some sort of a knee move. They call him the the knee breaker. Yeah. Yeah. Scott knee breaker. I always hurt your knee every time. Snug fit golf ball into my other leg with clothes. Okay. You ready? Yeah. I I Okay. Yep. I didn’t give him a countdown that time. I surprised. That really I don’t know if that helped or made it worse. I’d surprise you. Okay. It was pain in the knee again. No, but it’s painful. It’s painful. Yeah. Have a seat there. Or maybe not. I don’t know. Do what feels good. Nothing feels good, Scott. It’s definitely worse than getting hit with a drive. Yeah. Yeah. Cuz I did some research. Some drives can like be hit like 120 plus jewels. But that Oh, dang. Thank god I have thick legs. Yeah, I uh probably feel that in the bone if you didn’t. Yeah, I already feel it in the bone. Could you imagine actually getting hit in the knee with that? I think it would it could break. I think you’d be done. You’d be done for a while. That would uh take out walking. Oh, in my slingshot scar. Yeah. Nice. Oh, you see it quivering? Yep. Yep. Is that a good sign or is that bad or? Uh well, it at least means I got hit hard. Yeah. So, good for the data, I guess. Maybe a little bit more painful. It’s hard to say. Why am I doing this to myself? More uh, you know, experimental results. Let’s do a bare skin with that. Are you sure? I’m not sure, but I’m not not sure. Okay. Well, you know what I mean. I’ll do it. Thanks. Find another ball. All right. Snug fit training ball. A little bit farther back, but I’m bare skin. Three, two, one. Did you do it again? We’re done. We are so done. God. John, curve it under the knee. God, I think I did. You curve God. I think I did. I told him when we moved back. broke. I aim I aimed high and it’s still every time. I feel really bad. Honestly, I’m laughing, but I feel really bad. Oh, it’s so bad already. It’s so bad. Like he says, right? Went into Hey, I got another kneecap. Oh. Ah. You’re going to laugh when you see this, Scott. Oh, okay. I’m so sorry. I’m really sorry. I I was scooted back. Uh-huh. And I aimed higher even. Yeah. And that golf ball still said, “No, I’m hungry for a kneecap.” Well, you gave me another one. Another kneecap. No. No. So, I didn’t hit you in the knee. It kind of looks like a kneecap. That looks disgusting if I’m going to be quite honest. That um and your theory was wrong. It’s It’s bumpy. It’s It’s a golf ball size bump. It looks like you got Rice Krispies under it. Like, it’s it’s kind of disgusting. Like I if I don’t think I’d be able to eat next to you right now. That’s That’s really bad, dude. I Okay, so I I don’t feel as bad now. I thought I hit you in the kneecap. It felt like my knee when I got shot. Yeah, I I really thought And it went low. Yeah, I think that’s probably about as close as you could have gotten to my knee. Yeah, you’re you’re still looking for it. I don’t mean to though. It’s like, you know, it’s like my body, my brain is just searching for the weakest part on you, you know? Y like a Terminator like analyzing you. It’s like just go for the knee. It’s just instinct. Yeah, it’s weird. No, I guess I respect it. That is black almost. And then now you have a a giant That would be a record for a lump. Disgusting lump. Yes. Yeah, that might be a record. I feel like we could lance that. Oh my gosh, dude. Okay. Well, uh, we’re done with a thumper. I I think I’m done with a thumper, too. I don’t think I want to keep doing this to you. We at the very least will do one shot with a 5.56 softest foam round. And let’s do a test shot first to see what happens. And where am I shooting you at with it? Just hit me in the leg again. Not the on the one that has You don’t have any leg left, Houston. Your legs are gone. Listen, they they heal over time, right? Mhm. These are like constantly regen regenerative legs, you know. Well, I’ll go get it then. Okay, back to these Callaway training balls out of the 5.56 launcher. I think it’s about all you’re going to want. Yep. These are super squirly. We’re still going to stick to my leg on it, but the leg that we first started shooting. Hopefully I don’t hit you in the knee. Left leg is kind of inoperable. In fact, if we could remove this leg after we’re done filming today, that would be nice. It’s too bad I’m not a tattoo artist cuz I could like autograph right there cuz I gave you the biggest lump now. Record book. Record number one. Maybe. Makes me wonder though. I wouldn’t want to do this to you. But now I’m just genuinely curious. This gun with a solid ball. I really wonder what that would do. I may just have to do a video to zombie torso. Yeah, I think I might because I think it would prove way more lethal than any of the less lethal ones you’ve tested on the zombie torso. Yeah, I think so, too. Uh, this would be pretty bad. I agree. Yeah, but let’s see what these do. Foam ball. One shot. Maybe more than one shot because I may miss. Okay. Okay. They’re pretty squirly. One shot that hits me. Yes. Are you ready? I’m ready. I’m going to try. I believe. Three, two, one. Oh, it fell out. Do you think you need to take a knee? Yeah, I’m going to have to. Okay. Three, two, one. What happened? There were two in there. Wait a second. You have buck shot. Did you split the ball? I think I put one in at some other point and the second one fell out and then I just put another one in. I just shot two at you. Okay, let’s try one more. I definitely felt two impacts. Okay, try again. That is so much louder, too. Yeah, definitely more intimidating. Yeah. Ouch. Okay, three, two, one. Damn. That hit him really. Damn. That dude. Somehow it makes a squishy ball feel solid. Wow. Hit you so square right here. Like it almost came back. Wait. It’s got to be this spot right here. Yeah. Right above my other one. Yes. Is that from one of the other ones? Yeah, that was the one you did the buck shot version. So two two of them at the same time. Really? It cut the power cut the power down. That square shot you did right here. I could have sworn that was a solid ball. It did not feel squishy. Oh my goodness. Yeah. So, no way am I ever getting shot with a solid ball. I don’t think I’d ever recommend that. We could be 200 ft away and that would hit me and it would probably end my career. I would think so. Um, that’s pretty bad. It’s a bullet. A golf ball sized bullet. Yeah. Well, let’s do a data review. Time for the data review. Most of these are from the Thumper. We started with a foam ball stomach shot. Nice little mark there. Yep. Not too bad. That’s something anyone could survive, I think. Spine shot. How’s that look? Uh, not so bad. No, it was about the same as the front, right? That was a harder foam ball. I would say it was a little bit more painful than my stomach. Accidentally hit you in the spine. Beautiful shot. Moving on to my right leg. Uh, so you can see there’s just a mural of stuff. Uh, the worst ones, a closed hard ball and then a unclothed hard ball. A Callaway super soft. The foam balls left some It’ll leave some bruising as well. Yeah. Yeah. You should be bruised from that. Even the foam ones. Yeah, by far the worst we got today. This was a the training balls. Clothed unclothed. Bro, is that like your pores or is that from the golf ball? That’s the golf ball. I It tripped my skin off. Oh, no. The nipples of the golf ball. Yeah, but some of my pores are or like the hair follicle. They are enlarged from the swelling. I think like I said, Scott, I think this is a record for a single shot uh swelling. That might be a new record. I don’t know if I should be like proud of that. And I just want to thank you. I’ll go mark that on the board back home. Yeah. Uhhuh. So, do you think the Thumper would be a practical self-defense option? Well, even though it’s not meant to be. Yes. I’d say yeah. Like if someone busting your door, you’re 5 10 ft away. You solid golf ball launches straight into their upper body. If you got hit with that square in the chest, I think you’d think twice about Yeah. I don’t know. Thumper would kill you. The 5.56, I think, is 100% a lethal. Uh Oh, yeah. I think if you got hit with a hard ball out of 5.56. Yes. In this area, you’d break ribs. Break ribs. I mean, if it was hit in the head, I think you would be dead. It’d be bad. I’m going to find out though. I think I’m going to find out. I’m going to find out. Okay. Do some testing on that? Yeah. Well, make sure you go subscribe to Scott if you’re not already. A lot of fun stuff over there. Also, I will check back in a couple days and show you how badly I look. I mean, you already look pretty bad. Like in a cool way, though. Like he’s bad. Hey, that’s a bad boy. You are You are a bad boy. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you for saying that. I’ll see you later. Okay. See you later, bad boy. It’s time for the golf ball launchers data review. 3 days after the test, I had light bruising on my stomach from the foam rounds and extreme bruising, plus some serious scabbing on my legs from the solid golf balls. You might also notice a few marks that don’t look quite like golf balls, but that’s data coming in next week’s video. As for recovery, bending my knees has been rough. The swelling made it painful to move, and I’d say I ended up with a solid mixture of superficial and deep tissue injuries. So, are golf ball launchers practical self-defense tools? Absolutely. The 5.56 version is easily in the lethal weapon territory. And even the air powered thumper hits hard enough to break bone and stop any attacker in their tracks, especially if you took it to the head. I think they would also be lethal then. But hey, those are just my findings from, you know, getting shot. But I’d love to hear your thoughts down in the comments. And if you want to see more behindthe-scenes chaos, check out my YouTube memberships or Patreon. Links are in the description. And if you like this video, go watch the time Kentucky Ballistics and I built the most painful shotgun stocks ever. They literally peeled the skin off my shoulder because we put a cheese grater on one of them. Good times.

I am so sorry about the knee shots! It’s like I subconsciously aim for your weakest spot ha ha!
I always thought these be good for a warning shot . My golf ball launcher threads into the flash suppressor. So first shot can be a golfball warning next 29 be lethal . Ive also thought of buying cheap smoke balls that burn like 10 seconds and mortaring them down range be fun
Deadpool legs👍
2 weeks of Kentucky Ballistics? Cmon guys, stop spoiling us.
im glad that golf ball hit that block first. that was ugly.. too tough
Houston vs different nail guns
This guy shoots all day almost every day.He hit Houston in the worst spots. This guy is a Satist.
Insane, both those last hardest ball shots hit the block first then you your leg. Just imagine what it would do if it didn’t lose energy in the ricochet
4 bore golf ball launcher please
Man it’s a good day to see Houston and Scott in the same video
20:52 he accidentally drops a ball from his hand but sees it as the ball dropping from the barrel….always check your weapon before reloading.
Hahaha lmao Houston wants back shots from Scott!😂
Scott the kneecapper! 😂😂
You gotta do the table toss challenge against him again
15:35 The Kentucky Kneecapper 😂
17:57 "I got another kneecap" 😂😂😂😂
For science!!!!!!!!
@17:10 lol
These two together is gold, we want…. NO WE NEED MORE, of this.
got to get slow mo guys to join in on the impacts
Part 2: How well does the golf ball launcher(5.56) do against someone wearing body armor? Homeade, Soft, steel, ceramic, etc. I'd bet you'd still get some bruising Houston!
I genuinely think that the concrete on the worst ball shot saved your knee. If it didn’t hit the concrete first it would have been WAY worse
Just saying take a few of those to the desert and actually play gun golf 😂 di… disc golfers eat your heart out 🤣
Imagine if it hit you first instead of the brick
Your him
I've definitely been on the internet too long when I can be completely unfazed by watching a bodybuilder shit himself while only wearing a diaper.
Fun historical fact in relation to the "Thumper" and even the 5.56 version of the golf ball launchers: when the designers for the M79 grenade launcher were coming up with the idea for the project and the grenade, they initially experimented by launching golf balls out of a tube across a courtyard. While the actual kinetic energy from the grenades that would be eventually used might possibly be less than that of the golf balls from the launchers in the video, they're still something that would absolutely cause serious bodily injury if one was struck by a dud or training round.
Just to give a bit of similar sense of danger to the potential harm those golf balls can do from those launchers.
