Great Lever and Farnworth Golf Club – Hole 6 Flyover, Par 5 | Golf Drone Video in 4K
Whole 6 is proudly sponsored by annuityhelpdirect.co.uk. They’re industry leaders in annuity, pensions, and retirement options. This one’s the first of two back-to-back pars. The next two holes are the only par fives on the course and provide a chance for mid to high handicappers to pick up some good momentum. If played well, a driver off the tee is the preferred choice, but note that it’s tied off the tea, so it demands accuracy. All the trouble on this hole is located right. Note the trees, the shrubs, and the tangly bushes, as well as the out of bounds. The ideal target zone is indicated here. If you do happen to pull it too far left and even onto the seventh fairway, then more often than not, you’ll have a good chance at a recovery shot back onto the sixth fairway. Just remember to yield to oncoming players coming up the seventh. Most average and intermediate players will struggle to reach the green in two. The longer hitters will fill their boots provided they get two cracking shots off and provided they don’t get snagged in the two greenside bunkers ahead. For the average player, the ideal strategy is to go for the layup zone indicated here for the second shot. That’ll leave a pitch or a bump and run safely in between the bunkers and onto the pear-shaped green. Green on this one slopes sharply from back to front. The red and orange areas cover almost the whole green. Look out too for pin placement on this one. Your best chance for a good score is to leave an uphill putt. Anything past the hole and leaving a downhill putt can often turn to the misery of a three putt or even worse. You’ve been warned. Many a promising round has faltered here. So, let’s hope you avoid that and come off this one with a smile on your face. The next par five beckons. See you on the seventh T. Great Lever and Farnworth Golf Club is proudly sponsored by Harrison’s estate agents. Your home, our expertise.
