Took my first lesson after a month of golfing. Learned a lot and trying to put it into practice. Big things my instructor mentioned focusing on at the moment was wrist hinge and not take the club back behind. Any thoughts of how I’m building my new swing?

when you are at the top your club should be pointed in this direction as marked here.

the butt of the handle should point directly at the ball.

So personally i always recommend the skipping a rock feeling, that’s the most effective feel by far in my opinion.

so whenever you get to the top position think about trying to skip a rock but also having the pressure on your left foot when you are throwing it.

Your body instinctively knows what to positions to get in and luckily golf almost has the exact same positions.

You really want to exaggerate the feeling, if you don’t exaggerate it you most likely won’t see a change.

At setup i’d like to see you bent over just a touch more.

    Hope this helps.

To get a good feel for wrist hinge, try this.

Address the ball, lift your arms/hands up 3 inches or so, keep your wrist the same position they were in at address, (picture bumping a volleyball) then make a 3/4 shoulder turn.

    Edit for words.
