Can I Break Par at the UK’s LONGEST Golf Course – Full 18 Hole Vlog
This is the longest golf course in the UK and Europe. It measures just under 8,000 yards, and today I’m going to be playing it. This will be a battle of mind, fitness, as well as golf. And thanks to today’s video partner, Q, I have two of three of them locked down. But more on them later. I’ve been gearing up for this round of golf all summer. I’ve been thinking, let the fairways get bone dry. Try and make it as short as possible. However, we’ve just had a week of rain and you can probably see already how windy it is. This first hole is 490 yards into wind. Honestly, if I break 90 today, I will be over the moon. Some carries onto fairways are 250 yd plus, this is going to be brutal. But stick with it. Comment below. Let me know what you think I’m going to score and also what would you score on this golf course. The forecast today is 35 mph gusting winds. And this first one, 220 yards to the front edge of the fairway. Oh, I’m going to be exhausted after this. Right, come on. Break 80. Oh, pured it. We’re away. Driver off the deck. Second shot, I think. Right. To put into context how long and how difficult this golf course is going to be today, it’s a par 72, but the stroke index is 79.3. So, theoretically, if I shoot a 79, it’s basically level par. Come on, let’s break 80. Right. Beautiful T- shot down the middle of the fairway. 260 yds to go into the wind. I’ve got a 3-wood, which honestly will not reach. So, I’ve got to try and control not only strike, but direction to give myself an easy enough chip or pitch. I hope we’re not hitting into wind all the way around. Surely not. That that wouldn’t make sense, right? Let’s try and bust this there. Greenside bunker would also be fine, so don’t be scared of that. Oh, I’ve ripped it. Oh, just missed that bunker. Oh, I think I’ve just caught it. Has it gone in? Yeah. Oh my god. Oh my god. That would have been unbelievable to have a birdie put on the first. I might not hit two better shots than that all day if I’m honest. Pure driver, pure 3-wood. Right, up and down now for a par. Wet sand. Not the easiest. Don’t go digging. Just go nipping. Go. Ah, nearly put for par though. This is a day where every par put feels like a birdie put. Not much in this left edge up the hill. Bit slower on the greens with a bit of rain on there. Bit slower with the greens with the rain on there. Right. A shock the putting let me down. Right. One over through one. Let’s see what the second’s got in store for us. That’s a pretty good start considering the length of the hole and the conditions that we’re playing in. The body’s feeling stronger and healthier. And one of the reasons for that is fuel. And that is actually a really nice feeling because 2025 has been my worst year yet. That round of open championship qualifier on paper was awful, but I also felt bad within myself. I felt unhealthy. I felt heavy. So, ever since then, I’ve been back in the gym a couple of times a week doing CrossFit, doing high rocks training, doing training that I enjoy, but I’ve also been trying to balance it out with the Hule ready to drink bottles, the black edition. They taste incredible. And getting myself into the gym and complimenting that with a better diet has definitely made me feel healthier, faster, stronger, and a little bit lighter. And that’s why I’ve partnered up with Hule. Staying on top of my nutrition whilst trying to play golf. Between long hours at the desk and early mornings on the golf course, I am a nightmare for skipping meals and then snackable. Hule’s been a really solid fix for me. It’s quick, it’s balanced, and it actually tastes really good. It keeps me fueled through work and practice without the crash. If you’re juggling a busy schedule and trying to stay healthy, it’s definitely worth checking it out. Second hole, 209 yds to the pin into wind. So 205 yards is a five iron. I’ve got a three and a four in my hand. Feel like we’re a bit sheltered, aren’t we? So it might be a bit deceiving. Has to be a three iron really into that wind. 225 over the back. So I’m going to hit a three iron. So, I feel like the three, even if I even if the wind drops, shouldn’t really go over the back. Front right portion of the green, I think, is a good target as well. Let’s have a look. Yeah, the wind’s definitely there. This is the This is the club. Like a real punchy one. Try and get a decent flight. Am I finding another bunker? I am indeed. Green side bunker just shy just left of the pin. Another good shot though. Just need to be a little tiny bit more accurate. Right, I hit three full shots so far. Pured every single one. And that’s kind of what you need in a round like this when you know you’re going to be up against it. Ball striking number one. Those last two approach shots. Had I been literally five yards right of where the ball landed, I’d have had birdie put. So positive to start with. Now I just need to get a sand save. Right, come up and down. Last bunker shot as well was quite nice. Just a little bit tentative. So, same type of shot, same strike, just with a little bit more distance on this one. Oh, it’s a beauty. We love wet sand. We love wet sand. Just a nice Look at that really shallow divot. Little nippy one. Ball just stops dead. Rule number one, wet sand. Don’t go digging. That my friends is a par. Right. Tap in par. Par five next. Bring it on. Probably about 600 yards, but we’ll cross that bridge when we get to it. Suppose the beauty of these TE’s like there’s nothing’s in play. So, I can literally smash it as hard as possible. But you still want to strike it because you got to get maximum distance. That was pure. Oh my god, I’m on it today. Fairway. Must have slept well. Easy. Beast of a drive. 310 to the bunkers. I’m right in line with them. This is a tricky one though. It’s 230 to the front edge. I could have got there in two. Two. Who? Whoa. Whoa. Wait, wait, wait a second. Hold that phone. Hold that thought. Two B 250 to the center of the green. Should I be hitting a 3wood here? Camera man’s nodding. Josh is nodding. Yeah, boy. I think you’ve got I think you I think you’ve got to, aren’t you? Can I What’s the water saying here? Goodness me. It’s tight up there. It’s tight as cramp it is. I just I could probably hit 3wood and just bail it out a bit more. I can’t carry it very high. It goes quite low my 3-wood. I think so. I think it’s safe, isn’t it? I’m going to punch a five iron. Sorry, folks. I know that’s a bit Sounds a bit bad that. But my 3-wood is like a real low spinning 3wood. I brought it for today cuz I knew it was going to be windy, but it’s not like a second shot. It’s not a second shot 3-wood for like clearing water and landing it on the green. Sorry, that does sound negative. I’m just going to put part of the fairway. Punchy five iron pitch on. Hold the put. Draw, draw, draw, draw, draw, draw, draw, draw, draw, draw, draw, draw, draw, draw, draw, draw. That’s fine. It’s a bit further out than I would have liked. Bit further back as well, I think. I don’t think I hit it hard enough. Right. All right. So, just as again, I know I’m going to keep doing this, but I’m going to add a bit more context to how hard this is. My playing partner Matt is a 13 handicapper, but today off these TE’s that he’s joining me off, he gets 27 shots of a 13 handicap. That’s how hard these TE’s are. I love it. 100 yards to this pin. What a very mature way of playing golf. That was looking straight down the line of it. Wind feels like it’s slightly down as well. Just right right and short of that pin leaves me an uphill putt I think. So 100 yard shot. That’s not short. It’s a little bit long in fact. Wow. That’s gone miles. Oh well. It’s birdie pup. Right. So long is also not bad either because that flag is kind of sat on top of a little ridge. So short and long leaves you an uphill put. I knew that obviously right outside chance of beret uphill left to right. Left to right wind as well. Come on. Let’s go back to level par. Go. I was always missing a little bit to the right, but it’s a uh it’s a stressfree par again. Some good shots in there. One over through three. I’m exceeding expectations of myself. It’s always a nice place to be. Fourth hole, 489 yds. Now, this is a beast. Look at that to the front edge of the fairway, folks. 252. 240 just about gets that front edge. It’s also in the thinnest part of the whole fairway. We’ve got to avoid that little bit of blue on the right. 300 yd drive leaves a 190 approach. We’re coming from basically where my finger is. So, we’re going that direction first and then a massive dog leg. It is. It’s downwind though. So, if we can knock it if we can knock it like 320, which we can’t, then it’d be easier. Always look on the bright side. Perfect. Fairway again. Who am I today? I don’t even recognize myself. Hopefully, it’s gone 340. I think it might have gone 290. It was a little bit low on the face. Beautiful T- shot. 190 yards to the pin pretty much as I called it on the tea. Actually, wind is going to be slightly down and off the right. So, that’s a great that’s that’s nice. That’s a help. Obviously, 190 is a sixiron. I think I’m just going to stick with six. 207 to the back, 175 to the front. Then again, it’s winds there. Green’s over there. Punchy six. Yeah. Wind off the right. I’m gonna play it as the yardage. Gonna play it as the 190 shot. Um, loads more room left. Hazard right. Think’s just Yeah, just out the pin with a little draw. And hopefully the wind doesn’t kind of overcook it. It is strong. It’s a strong wind, but it’s a bit more down. It’s a tricky one to commit to, and I’m certainly not going to get silly and aim at the water. Just left with the pin. about pin high. It’s a good shot. It’s a very professional shot, right? 2% slope across the slope. We’ve got a birdie opportunity, which I’ll be honest, I wasn’t massively expecting from a 490 yard par4. But we’ve hit two good shots. Let’s make it a third. It’s about two foot left of the hole. Then it’s going to be about speed. Then it’ll also be about whether that two foot left the hole is correct. Oh, that’s a lot of break. That’s a lot of turn. Is it good? Yeah. Turned a lot really, didn’t it? Regulation bar. This is hard. So, 183 pin. Wind is pretty much from like from 10:00. So, it’s in t and off the left. It’s an island green. Leave this just short and it’s going in the water. And with no wind, I’d hit a smooth six. That that to me takes the five out because of how strong that wind is. So, I’m going to go with a softy little four iron. The problem with the soft thing is you’ve just got to make sure you still commit to commit to your swing and get your Sorry, Josh. Get your strike right. Come on. 200 yards the back edge of the green for a two 15 club. So it’s a stronger wind than that. So I can be confident that I’m not going long. I was hitting these on the range. Little 3/4 punch. So pure. Hit it wind. Hit it, wind. Middle of the green. Oh, we’re just finding the middle of the face time after time. You need to right be really happy with that uh with that T-shot. Similar length, similar sort of break as the last where I’m giving it about two foot left. Bit more uphill on this one though. So I just need to get it up this ridge. Go on. Go. Ah. Nearly a very good put. You know that’s still quite a good put in fairness. Just need to find another foot of pace on me puts. It’s another par though. We’re cruising folks. Cruising 8,000 y. What? That my trolley one. I tell you I tell you something folks get the full Monty music on Josh we’re back we’re off a jumper I’ve not played golf in two jump that might have been my secret you know I could go absolutely all over the gaff now there I can bunkers down the right at 260 so I can reach bunk is on the left I don’t think I can reach and it’s kind of I’m hitting into a slope just copy and paste but now feel too loose Feel like you’ve got two jumpers on. Soon as you take a jumper off, I missed the fairway. There’s bunkers down that right side. God, I might might have to go and just put the other jumper on and sweat. Want to give you my theory on that? Go then. Your jumper holds you in place. I think it does. I think my jumper does hold me in place. So, got 175 front of the green 182 pin. wind’s just it’s just off the right. So, I’m actually just gonna I’m gonna go with the 182 shot effectively, which is my six iron. But, I’m just gonna c I’m just gonna like expect a bit more shape off it. So, I’m aiming to the right portion of the right side of the green. Maybe even just slightly right of the green. Should be a decent curve on this ball. Come on, baby. Heart is drawing perfectly. Come on. Be the one. Oh, good shot. Is that big? No. No, it’s short. Short. Short? Is it? It’s not short. Oh, spin on that. Yeah, it did, didn’t it? I thought I’ll take that. Right. Just a little shy. Like literally two yards shy of the green. Um, but to be fair, I wouldn’t a five. I don’t think I’d be able to commit to. So, actually, this is a decent leave. Gonna go with the putter through the fringe. Slightly downhill, but not much. Right to left. Couple of feet right on this. Just need to find my pace a little better. So, I’m just going to try and feel like my arc’s a bit longer. Yeah, good pace. Better pace. Better pace. Easy par. Poor T-shot. Reasonable second. Still one. This I presume has got to be the longest hole in the golf course, isn’t it? Seventh hole. 664 yards. Par three. Par five. Banter. Dad jokes right. Uh bunkers at the right at 325. Can’t get there. So that is the line. It’s just two. It’s just three big hits in it. If I can get 300 Well, basically if I can get 300 yards out of this, I’m nearly halfway through the hole. Quick maths. Come on. Oh, pulled it. Wow, that is like not even on the fairway. Got because of the last little block. Tried to make sure I released it and I definitely released it, folks. And I’m not sure I’ve even passed the ladies tea cuz it nose dived quite quickly. That caught it right out the center of the mid, right out the middle. But the club face may have been pointing at my ankles. Oh well, maybe a six of the way through the hole. Right. a woeful t-shot. I’ve got 423 yards to the front edge of the green. Uh, this was probably the worst hole to have hit that T- shot, even though they’re all long. Next one. Now, I’ve got a decent lie. A bit of a blind second, but I need to try and I’ve got a five and a six iron in my hand. I need to really try and get 200 yards out of this to leave 200 yards, which is wild, isn’t it? But you hit try te shots like that and you get what you deserve. I’m going a bit boldly. I’ve got a five iron. It’s a really good lie. Just got to get connection. Oh, pured it. Should be fairway. Yeah, I’ve saw the first bounce. It’s a pure strike. Back on my pure ball striking, folks. I think I might keep this out for my next shot. Very decent recovery if I do say so. That ball. I actually recovered it to 200 yards. I’ve got 240 to the pin. Third shot on a par five. 240 yards to go. Uh 236 clears the bunker. 240 to the pin. This is a literally a 235 club. Wind is off the left. I feel like it might just be a bit of a like a like a fadey 3wood. I don’t feel like I’m I’m getting the threewood there. Three iron there. 280 over the back anyway. But if I get this starting left of the green tiny fade, it should be about right. Like that. Missed that bunker. Oh my god. It’s the shot of the day. Shot of the day. He’s missed the bunker. It might have kept trickling over, but it literally ran past the base of the pin. It might have gone in. That would be the eagle of dreams. If I’ve got a birdie putt after that T-shot, I will be so happy. Wow. Wow. That actually that actually would have had a look, you know. That would have had a little look. Josh, why weren’t you on the green with green cam from 240? Sorry. I tell you something. It’s finished right and we’ve come from there and it’s squirt. It’s that’s that’s gone. That’s that’s gone past it about here. Yeah. Just right next to the hole. That is unre that is unreal. Don’t miss. That is a very very unlikely birdie. 644 yds. Driver five iron 3wood. Get in back to level. Eighth hole. Level par 37. Come on. 479. Stroke index one. 479. Wind is slightly off the left. Bunkers are down the left at about 295. So they are in range. But with that wind, I think you can comfortably aim at just inside them. And then hopefully the wind just pushes it back a little bit. Fairway. Don’t mind that at all. Little fadey one. Beauty. Go on. The ball wasn’t perfect. Give it a seven out of 10, but we’re in the fairway. Better than the last T-OT. Second shot. I’ve hit a beauty of a T-OT. We’ve got 182 yards to the pin. Wind is more left. maybe slightly helping, but more left. So, bunker left, don’t miss right is the advice I’ve been given. So, I’m going to aim this right in between flag and bunker. And uh hope for the best. Actually, what forgot the back? 206 to the back. So, I’m not worried about being long, which is a good way to help you commit to the shot. If I can get a bit of help off that wind, that could be a good shot. Don’t know. Bunker. Is it bunker? No, it looks like he cleared it. Yeah, I thought he cleared it. Do you think bunker? Cleared it. I think he just never moved on the wind. Feels a bit high. Josh says bunker. Matt says green. I ain’t got a clue. Let’s find out. Right. Thankfully, Matt, my playing partner, was right. If my ball is on the green, pin high. Why doubt me, Josh? This pretty flat port. I can’t see anything which is scary. Big back of the bunker there. I’ve walked it. Don’t feel a lot much but I probably got one leg bigger than the other as well which is we don’t right based on what I think I can see on the slope. I am aiming just outside the right. Pace is king. Come on. Back to back birdies. Oh, it goes that way. That’s all right. Oh, there’s a slope there, but it comes that way. So, oh well. That’s a par which I’ll h I’ll happily take. Still level par through eight. This is well easy. Right. Ninth hole. Slightly downwind. Hooray. 466 yds. Also slightly uphill. So 476 to the back of the green, I suppose, if you’re taking the consideration of the slope. Wind slightly helping. Bunkers down the left. Wind should just peel it off there. Hopefully. Just aim right of them anyway. Always helps. There we go. Oh, we’re playing well today. Middle of the fairway, past the bunkers. Unbelievable. Don’t even recognize myself. No three puts. A birdie, a bogey, seven, six pars. Stay in the moment. Stay in the present. Don’t ask what the course record is. Right, we’re in the middle of the fair. 144 yards to the pin. This hole actually feels like you like a normal par4 465 downwind, drive a wedge or drive a n iron. We saw the pin earlier on. It’s in a brutal position right at the back on its own ledge. Go long, you’re in the bunker coming back down the hill. Go short, you’ve got an awkward put up the hill, but I think we’d all take the put up the hill. 144 uphill, so let’s call it 147 or 148 downwind. I think it’s just a soft nine. Wedge for me is a 135. So just a Thank you. Just a soft little nine iron. You don’t want to go long, folks. 14. This says 148. It’s long. It’s wedge. It’s wedge. It’s too windy. I’m feeling gusts. I’ve got wedge. If I get Yeah. If I get to It’s a It’s a 46 degree wedge. If I get to the top of the back swing and I feel a gust, I’ll just bail out and fat it. So, I can hit this hard knowing that I shouldn’t go over the back. Couple of yards short of the flag as well. Still will still be very, very good. I pulled it a little bit, which is not the ideal scenario. Ah, just the one hole where you’ve got a wedging hand on an approach shot. And it’s probably further away than some of the approach shots I’ve hit with five irons. Poor. Poor guys. Josh, this is Look at this line. This is It’s the worst approach shot I’ve hit all day. It’s good. I went down to a wedge as well, by the way. So, I think my target line is literally going to be the sprinkler head. I’m not sure if you can make out where the sprinkler head is. You might be able to. Or I can be less aggressive to the roof. That’s a great shot. I can I can get onto that roof. I think the sometimes the higher you go, the the more it kind of speeds up. So, I’m going to go halfway between the start of the fringe and the sprinkler into the roof. Got to get it through the roof. My god, this is a complete guess, folks. If my putting is not already a guess. All right. Sit, sit, sit, sit. It’s not a horrendous effort any much less pace and it could have kicked further right earlier. It’s not a terrible effort. It’ll be a really disappointing bogey if I missed it though, considering how short the hole is. It’s literally the easiest hole we’ve played all day. Give me a four iron approach shot any day. Straight up the hill. Come on ball. Yes. I’m happy with that. I was thinking to myself, just get through the nine. Level path through nine. Pretty good. I’m pretty happy with that if I’m honest. It’s a windy day. It’s a tough day. Golf. Don’t know the golf course. It’s been really long. Level through nine. Buzzing with that. Really happy. Right. I hear there’s a sausage roll somewhere. Right. We’ve just had Josh and Matt have had a sausage roll. I’ve had a pork pie, which was unbelievable. A coffee in there as well. Get us ready for this bat n level through nine. 481 yds into wind. Dog leg left. Oh my god, that’s unbelievable. I think Matt, is that good? That’ll be fine. It’s a little bit longer than it needs to be for your second, but it’s perfectly safe. Middle of fairway. Middle of fairway. Happy with that. That’s all I needed to hear. That is all I need. Beauty. Little draw on that as well. I’ve got it. I’m golfing my ball today, folks. All right, 203 yards to go. quite a bit. Absolute pear of a t-shirt as well. Wind hard off the right. So is the rain now, folks. It’s getting tough. Going to have to really I think I have to hit this pretty pretty hard actually. Just let this let the let the wind bring it back. All right. Well, that now the wind could stop hitting it. If I can just catch that portion of the green. Oh, it’s short. Actually, that’s a decent leaf. It’s probably five five to five to 10 yards maximum short of the green, but it’s a good leave, right? There’s a couple of times to be fair like I know I’m short of the green there, but I honestly don’t think four iron was the club either cuz four iron gets me deep. This is actually quite a decent It’s a decent leave if and you know it happens a lot when that ball’s in the air. You get a little bit less of a gust. It probably just carries that a little bit of extra distance. So although it is short, it’s six yards short. I don’t I can’t see myself trying to hit a four iron from there. Right, I’ve got an opportunity now though to uh get up and down or chip him. Sit there. Well, I hit it hard enough for just a little bit left, but we’ve got four feet of naughtiness to go. trickled a bit more than I was uh I thought actually to be fair. Not much breaking it though. So don’t give it not going to give the hole away from this distance. Come on. End over end. Good stroke. Watch that prob sign. Just go end over end over end over end. Bosch, you know we’re on it today, folks. And I’m holding out from 5 foot level through 10. Oh, wow. When you’re on a par four and the first number of the yardage starts with a five, it’s worrying. 503 looks like a dog leg. Left, right to left. Bunk is in the distance. He’s 320. So, might have to take a bit off this. What are you laughing at? Take I’ll take 30 off it. All right. Downwind. Little draw to get it around that corner as well. Or maybe bit a bit cheeky. It’s kind of right in line with it. Stop. Just short. Just short. Managed to compute taking 30 off. Hello. Uh two 213 yards to go. Goodness gracious me. Wind off the left. 213. 213. 213. What’s that? I think it’s I feel like it’s a Yeah, I think it’s a four. Don’t be I don’t think. Cheers, mate. Thanks for that. Get a bit of grass in there. Dry that eye out. Oh yeah, that’s what I meant. Hay fever in the eye. 20. No, it’s not. It’s 210. It’s It’s a 4. I don’t hit my my fine doesn’t go 210. Yeah, but when you pure it No, I don’t still. And today you’ve been puring a lot. I have been puring it. Played well today. I have played well. Six holes to go still though. Six holes and a four iron to go. Straight at the pin with a little draw. Let the wind hold it up and down. Oh my goodness. Get in the hole. Stop it. I hit four irons closer than nine irions. What is going on in this game? Thank god I have the accuracy. Let me tell you that. What was wrong with that distance though? No, nothing. But you were saying hit five iron. Five iron would have been short from 210. So that flag was 210. That’s still 10 yard short. Yeah. So, I don’t have the my efficiency on my long irons is not four and five is not great, which is pretty normal, pretty standard, but accuracy is generally not too bad as you can see. Oh, I’ve smashed it. And with that smash comes a slight pull. It’s a par. It’s a par. Stroke index two I believe. So not for me. 223 yards pin. It should be slightly into with the wind, but it seems like everything just died down a little bit. The flags are not moving. So forgive me. I thought I might just hit this as fast as I possibly can. I’m going to hit a three iron. Um, I think the back of the green is the back of the green is 240. So, I’ve got the right club in my hand here. This is perfect. Bunkers down the right. Think we peel it off those bunkers. It’s on the pin. Sit there. She’s a beauty. The trajectory may have just trickled over the back, but that was unreal. I want to play 8,000 yards every week. My pitch mark, which will obviously repair in a minute, is literally 5 foot right of the pin. Look at that. Look at that, Josh. If I hit it 5 foot left, I could have dunked it from 230. Feeling this, Josh? Just a little like a little drawy one just to get a little bit of release up the slope. Just releasing. Sit. Wow, that released a lot more than I expected. Suppose it caught a little bit of a slope. Ah, never mind. Feels like the first sort of ninth was a bit of a tricky one, but it feels like the first proper test of a par outside the right up the slope. I honestly thought I hadn’t quite given it enough pace. Get in. That’s a good save. That’s a good save. We’re level, folks. We’re still level through 12ish. 13th hole, 615 yards. It’s t-shirt weather now, but from the down the line camera, you’re going to see a big black sky. So, we’re going to be in waterproofs very shortly. What a day, right? Smash it and smash the next one. How’s that for a strategy? Oh, I’ve necked it. It’s fine, though. It’s better than the last attempt at a 600 yard hole. Oh, get a lie. That wasn’t great. Right. Not my best T-shot. Obviously a little bit necky, but it’s fine. Not exactly wasn’t exactly going to be reaching the green anyway. Got 310 yards to the front edge. I’m going to try and bust a five iron to about 200 y 220 to the bunker. So, I definitely can’t reach. So, I can be free. And then that should leave me 100 110 120 into the green. So important these second shots on holes like this where you just got to get it into a nice range to attack the pin. Theoretically I should be hitting a lob wedge so I can go in with a four iron. Perfect. Middle of the faceway. Honestly fours and five irons easiest clubs in the bag. said, “No one ever.” 158 pin. Awkward yardage for me. That even if there was no wind. Um 158 is a soft eight into wind. Full eight is 165 means I’m going have to just hit a little chippy seven. The eight could finish short. However, it’s only 130 to the front edge. 160 over the back. Soft seven. Little little L to L swing with a seven. Draw draw. It’s not bad. Like I say, it’s a tough yardage. The wind was kind of all up in my grill. It’s on the green. Right. This was actually a better approach than I gave myself credit for from up there. I thought it was a lot sh Well, I thought it was a bit shorter. Down slope, downhill, right to left. Chances to get into some red numbers is to go one under. That’s too low. Wow. Suppose it’s quite quite breaky just there. Still level. Still level. Still exceeding my own expectations. I mean, I I set myself a target. I wanted one birdie today, and it came at the most unexpected time, but I’ll take it. 14th hole, 425 yards. This is like a just a nice normal par4 on a normal kind of metal competition T which is beautiful. Bunkers down the right at 280. So they are very much in range. So I need to just keep it left of those and then that should clear the way for an approach shot into a flag where I could potentially make birdie. Let’s do one thing at a time first. Let’s get this T- shot going. Just like that. Fairway. Go on the ball. Perfect. Right. Beautiful T-shot. Right in line with the bunkers. 135 pin. It’s just it’s kind of gone flat calm. So, this is actually just a perfect wedge. I think hopefully going to there’s a whatever wind is up there is right to left. So, I’ll give it a little bit of right to left respect. Balls above my feet as well, which will make it go more left. Right. Come on. It is close. If that’s the right yardage, it could go in. We’re close, folks. We’re close. So, look at this. I’m in shock. Pitch mark is just bang on 135. Honestly, when you have a yardage that is just perfect, it’s rare. It very very rarely happens in a round of golf where you get onto a middle of the fairway a perfect yardage flat calm when you just know it’s a full shot. Sometimes that can happen which is lovely. So we’ve got this to hopefully move one under par which I promise you I was not expecting. Matt’s just thinned it across the green, right? Come on. Just double check there. Actually, there is a little bit of slope on that, but it shouldn’t be enough to uh warrant anything major in terms of alignment. Bosch. One underpar. One under par through a good taxi 14. Let’s see if I can stay in the red. Serious. I’m out of fing it. It’s a waste. 15th hole. 240 yards to the pin. I brought my three eye, my 3-wood, and my driver. It’s into wind. Doesn’t feel like there’s a load of wind though. But the three iron actually just it just can’t. It’s physically can’t get there. Potentially two actually 230 to the front. Right. I’m gonna It’s 240. So, I’m gonna I’m gonna peg up a 3-wood. I’m going to hit it higher hopefully and land it. If I can land this at 250, it’s a bloody brilliant shot straight at the pin. 240 has to be into a bit of a breeze. It’s just a I think it’s just a smooth 3-wood. Oh my god. Come on. Land soft on that line. God, three-wood madness, right? Oh, this would be I could have had two three-wood birdie conversions in one round. If I can hold this out, get myself into two under with three to play. Right to left, uphill at the end. So, I can be a bit more aggressive. Stay up. Stay up. Stay up. Stay up. No. No. Unlucky. Oh. Oh. A roll. Just a roll. It’s nightmare. Oh, it’s good. How does that actually make you feel? devastated. Honestly, I’m like I’m very excited about shooting a good score here, but I’m still one. I’m still happy. But that could have just been bloody epic. Three to go. Right, 16th hole, 618 y into wind. Into wind. So, it’s playing about 700 y. If you like your draw to move, you want the left edge of that bunker, you can see on the right hand side, just pull it back into the fairway. If you think the wind will hold it, just go a little further left. Okay, it’s pretty generous looking. I mean, it’s a generous fairway to be fair, so I’m not overly worried about accuracy. Famous last words. Just get a strike. Like that. Is that bunker in range? Shouldn’t be. No. No. Pretty sure. Oh, good. I say it’s absolutely flushed. It would have been a shame to go in the bunker. Obviously, I knew it was out of range, so that’s why I aimed it. Another middle of the fairway for the for me. Bunker’s down the left there. 207 to reach. There’s no future in trying to get over them because it brings the next set into play on the right. So, really into wind, 200 yard shot. Leaves me 140. Obviously, I can play it slightly right, which I’m going to try and do. Um, I’m just actually going to punch a I’m going to punch a four iron because I think that’ll be about a 200 yard shot, but I’m also just going to try and obviously not hit towards the bunkers anyway. Uh, tricky little layup actually. Just a smooth four iron, middle of the stance job. 9:00 swing is the feel. It’s not really moving, which is nice. Strike was good. It’s in the rough, but yeah, I think you might have got that one maybe. Yeah. Yeah, I’m happy with that. Was good. Very, very professionally played. 132 yards. Bang on to the pin. We’re going straight into wind. Athletic jump. Um, nothing really short of the green. 155 over the back from this angle. makes me edge towards like a just like a feeling n iron. Almost basically the same shot I just hit with the four iron in terms of like the swing to kind of keep the spin off it. That’s a that’s almost a full wedge, but I’ve got a wind into my face. Not that I’ve got wind. The ball flight’s amazing. The accuracy is amazing. Come on. I think it look I think it looks better than it is from here, but it’s it was all over it. I think it’s probably about 10 15 foot short. Still good though. Right, we’ve got another fantastic opportunity to go two under. Uh up the hill, right to left. The perfect put for a right-handed golfer, so they say. Come on. Feeling this. Feel like I’m potting with a bit of freedom today, which is quite a weird feeling. Just didn’t really Well, no, I did overread it. It’s another par though. And on these length golf holes, that’s pretty good. I mean, that’s basically playing 700 y. Two to go, one under. Shortest par4 of the day. 406 yds. Water left, water right. Couple of bunkers, but we’re not bothered about them. We’re just going to smash driver straight into the fat part of the fairway. Pitch it on. And we’re going to get ourselves I could I could shoot in the 60s today. Finish with birdie birdie. I might go around again. I’m loving it. Wait. I’m like a robot. But I tell you something, I’m excited to see my stats after this round because I feel like I’ve hit almost every fairway, which is a lovely feeling. 120 yards now into that pin. Wind is was slightly helping when I grabbed a club. What? Now it’s hurting. Now it’s straight into I can’t Well, gap wedge wouldn’t get 120 gap wedge into wind’s not going to get there anyway. So, it’s got to be a Now it’s gone again. Oh, come on, wind. Make your mind up cuz I can’t. Yeah, I’m going to hit a little soft Just going to hit a soft pitch just right at the pin. It’ll draw back with a soft one. Just pulled it. I felt it in my hands. I think I’m on. Yeah, but I’m just left. I just felt, you know, feel that little felt that little tweaky pull in my hands. Bit very disappointing approach shot. I hit two approach shots that stand out like this one and the one on the ninth where got short irons in and just pull them. And I feel like I’ve been quite accurate today. Well, I have been quite accurate today. But those two irons when you feel like you’ve got a good chance of getting them close to making birdie. Then again, I did hit a wedge really close though. Sometimes it evens itself out. Up the hill, right to left. Birdie birdie finish for a 69. That’s where my head’s at. I’ve not really hit it. I’ve not struck it. Go. Go. Ah. Just slightly slightly misit the the the strike. Just a little bit. Bottom. Easy par. Birdie down the last then. A birdie down the last for a 70. Hopefully it’s an easy hole, but you know, I’ll take part. I can’t believe that I’m in this situation. I genuinely genuinely was worried about embarrassing myself in this video cuz of how windy it is and how long the golf course is. I genuinely was worried about I wouldn’t break 80 knowing that the standard scratch would be 79. But this is I’m pretty happy with myself, I’ll be honest. Final hole. This is actually the probably the first proper t-shirt where I thought, wow, what is the strategy here? We got a big tree left. Got a bunker at 290. We got the next bunker at 310. Wind is kind of helping, but not massively. Dog legs right to left with the wind off the left. There’s a lot. And I’ve had a It’s been a long day. Threewood just leaves every takes everything out of play, doesn’t it? And leaves 150 in. Flushy threewood straight to that right bunker. If it draws, great. If it doesn’t, great. If it fades, me, it’s fine there. It’s in the rough. Ball’s going to be above my feet. It’s not perfect, but it’s what I’ve been dealt. Well, 165 pin 155 to the front lies slightly like this, which will help me just deloft it a couple a degree or so, which will send it a tiny bit further if it needs to. But it I don’t certainly shouldn’t need any more club than that. Wind off my back, left to right. Come on. Up and down. Finish the day. But yeah, it’s a full shot though. 180 to the back edge. So, it’s definitely a full shot. So hopefully the ball above my feet holds the wind. It’s on the money. I hope that’s close. I hope that is close. Rounding my year this. What a way to bow out in 2025. God, I thought that was tight, you know. It’s gone a long way that is that a little bit of wind. Right, last shot of the day. Boom. Boom. Boom, boom, boom. Unbelievable. Was not expecting that. Round a 70. Two under 8,000 yards. Honestly, this is my yardage. Anything under 8,000 yards, I’m not playing it ever again. I’m just going to come here every week. Rock Cliff Hall. Thank you for having me. That was the best round of golf of my life and my year and my most enjoyable day ever. Thank you.
►The UK’s Longest golf course is Rockliffe Hall, measuring just shy of 8000 yards.
I took on the challenge, and it was a big challenge.
My golf in 2025 has been poor but am I about to turn things around?

What a round! Well done!
a note on the way this was filmed from a long time subscriber, the camerperson spent more time showing your reaction to shots and didn't even show the shot on numerous occaisions, on puts it was the same. Whoever this was is new to you and new to golf?
What a beautiful, big monster of a golf course. Really well played Andy. Very enjoyable to watch. Thanks.
Well played Andy, struck the ball so pure. Looks like the hard work put in, paid dividends
That was pretty damn impressive. I especially liked you saying "Last shot of the day" then sinking that putt.
Cheers
That’s an unbelievably great round, well done 👍🏻
Andy you are absolutely smashing it!! Brilliant
Well played Andy 👍, if I played that course my score would in the 90s (if I played well) lol.
If only you played that well against Fryer 😅
Great round Andy and great ball striking. And to think that Fryer beat you?! Shameful lol
