We got a new one from Onyx. We got the Bryson Baker uh Onyx Enough said uh Tai Sports 12in barrel. We got a 28. And this feel like it’s heavy. Like it got a Is this just like the white and gold one that he swung this past year? The Billy Hudson. It might be close to it. That was good. Yeah. So what we have? We have This is not a tacky barrel. The traditional knob with a traditional grip. All right. Y’all going to see where to test at. We going to swing it. myself Troy Ernie. I ain’t gonna lie though, this kind of look like a like a Christmas back, don’t it though? It pretty though. They said Christmas present early, didn’t they? Hey, Christmas in July though. Let’s come on. 97. 97. Ain’t even loose. First swing. 99 miles. 99. All right. 94 miles hour. Popped it over. Gone. Um, feel a little tight in the beginning. We got spoiled on the on the new stuff with the Spin Tech. So, haven’t swung a traditional Senior Onyx since the last Jude that I broke. But who else? Gas, too. Yeah, that Jude was good. But uh so far a good pop. Um feel like a medium barrel. Not too stiff though. 99 miles hour. First bullet. Whoa. 99 black pepper with the All right, last one. Come on up here, Ernie. 98 miles hour. 98. Come on back. Come on. 90 mph. Going to get some, dog. I’m going through the lights right there. 98 mph. How the hell 98 mph 90 miles hour. What was that? 90 miles hour. Another 90. That’s gone. Oh, I need a lighter bat. Hey, that way out there, bro. That way. 92 miles hour. I’m going to try to hit a couple down with it. 91 miles hour. I’m going try to hit try to hit a couple down. Right. One more. 90 miles hour. Yeah. And I hit that off the hand with the 84 miles hour. Oh [ __ ] Right under the lights. Oh [ __ ] Right up under the light. Cut that thing, dog. Cutting branches off out there. You’re trimming. 91. Good hands cuz that ball’s down and outside. Yeah. I’m just trying to cut them. 99. Oh, 99. Mhm. 96 miles hour. on my hand. Man, that ball was carrying. Open up a little bit. Yeah. Um, this got a heavy I mean, this is a very aggressive end load. Like, you don’t need to put a lot into it. All you got to do is just throw the hands with this one. If you um I’ll probably just on the way it feels, go a slider. Um, if you swing 27, try the 26. You got Onyx has always been aggressive with the end load and they did not hold back with this one. If I had that bat and I swing 27s, I’d definitely get a 26 in that one. What about you, Ernie? Yeah, I agree that it does have a really heavy pronounced inload. Yeah, but the ball really jumps off the bat. It’s just a little bit harder to control than the other onx in the half. So, yeah, because some of those balls are trying to hit down and you know the barrel is coming out like this. I’m getting them out of here. Yeah. So, as far as back control, if I’m in a base hit situation, probably not my preferred bat. Home run. Yeah. Yeah. 106 miles. 106. Hey. Hey, buddy. If I hit it down, it don’t. 106. Come on. 103. 107. Come on. It’s got a great sound. But but you know what though? If you can manage to control it and get on top of it, you’re going to get that higher V. I wish we had a 27 or 26. Yeah, I think we would probably all handle that weight a lot better. Me and you, he likes a heavier bat. 99 miles hour. Wow. That’s good. 91. Flick. Just flick your wrist on it. 90 91 106 106. That’s That’s some heat, dog. That is some heat. 99. Couple more. Damn, Fed. Look like you hit that just as good. I hit it a little bit lower. 101 miles hour. 101. You fought that down, too. 92 mph. Whoa. Hey. Hey. 99 miles hour. 99 up in the trees. Come on. Come on. 85 miles hour. 97 miles hour. 100 miles hour. There you go. You touch that one, dog. 95 miles hour. It’s gone. 98 miles hour. Bro, that was all that good hands right there. touch. This bat feels way better this round. And I don’t know if it’s because we’re a little bit loose now or, you know, if the bat’s just got some swings on it and it just the balls are coming off of it a little bit hotter. The wind is blowing in today, too. Just a little bit. Look at that. Whoa. A that second gear. It tried to come down and went up and gone. Hey, he caught it behind him. Yeah. Another thing I’m talking about with the Onyx bats, for some reason, the ball seems to take off a little bit once it gets in the air and it really carries well off these bats. 98 miles hour. 99 miles hour. 98 miles hour. Left felt good. 94 miles hour 100 miles hour 100 miles hour wrapped around that ball a little bit 100 mile here 92 relig 85 miles hour. 95 miles hour. Got it, boy. 84 miles hour. That’s gone. But you didn’t even hit it good. But that look at that though. Halfway up the tree. Yeah, you still get it halfway up the tree. Oh yeah. Oh yeah. Yeah, you did. Top of the tree. Still gone though. Gone. Hey Whiskey, we miss you though. [ __ ] Hey, Whiskey need to finish up that job before he bring his ass back up. Way to go that one though. Hey, that ball way down. That was about 2 feet short for the plate, bro. There you go. 88 miles hour. Oh, we good. Oh yeah. Damn. Two more. Look at that. Wow. You just [ __ ] the left center field up right there. 100. Come on. Got me a hundo. You want me to put another round on this yet? Yeah. It looking about 165. So, we got pass on one side uh and then blow on the other side, but we’re going to go ahead and talk about it. All right. What’s up, everybody? So, welcome back. So, we just finished up the swings on the brand new Bryson Baker uh Onyx um not it’s the Tai Sports Edition. So, it’s the Onyx Tai uh Baker. It’s not called enough set. Uh first of all, man, great bat. Um we going to always put some transparency out here. Let you guys know the details of the bat and everything. If you are a traditional Onyx uh person from the past, this is pretty much the makeup of the bat. You have the traditional handle with the traditional knob, traditional end cap. And when I say traditional, this has been kind of like their base model that they used for the past four or five years with some tweaks here and there. Um, so we have a 12-in bell. Uh, we scaled it. We had a 28 ounce. It was 28 on the dot. So the weight that you swing stick to it. Uh when it came to the to the balance point numbers, what we had here, um you know, Onyx is always always always been aggressive with the end loads. So on the hands, we had a 94 and then we had a 18 on the head. Um, I’m going to tell y’all straight out. We We put roughly about 140 150 swings on this bat. And then after we was done with it, went ahead and put some more swings on it as well. And we put too many swings on it. Again, I said it in a lot of the videos that we done, not just with Onyx, but with senior bats, that these bats are not made for BP. They’re made for 20, 30 swings to get used to it, get a feel for it, and then put it up. The performance is there. Numbers don’t lie. If you saw, there was a few times I was hitting in the mid 100s. Um, in the second round, um, I know the first round was a little foggy, so I did cut out some of those swings, but in that second round was able to get really really loose with it, man. And, um, hit hit some tape measure shots. Had a great feel. Okay, so you saw what the bat tested. It did pass. It did test at like 165 on one side, but then the other side where it test at 125, I’m going to zoom in right here, you can see where the B where the bat is starting to collapse a little bit. And again, this is us putting roughly about 175 to 200 swings. So, they will tell you, you know, Carlos has been, first of all, he’s very aggressive with his end loads and he’s very transparent with telling people, listen, you’re going to get quality swings out of our bats. you’re going to get high performing bats. So, don’t go out there and and um you know, BP the bat just to beat it up. You know, the purpose of these reviews is we want to show you guys from swing zero to swing 100 to get it ready. However, the reality is I could have made this video 10 swings and that would have been it because it would have been a gamer right after that. But however, we wanted to show like as it kept going and going and then the compression kept dropping. Just so that you know, we knew the compression was dropping and we kept going because we brought the tester out there with us. So, I wanted to see how long it would have took for us to get to failing. Keep in mind, it was myself, it was Troy, it was Ernie. Um, so we are all guys who are going to consistently hit the ball 90 95 miles an hour and occasionally 100 miles an hour as well. So when you’re putting that type of stress on the back with those type of swings, you know, damn these nets out here, man. It’s about to rain. Another thing that you got to look at too is that, you know, you look at the the what’s the term? You you look at the characteristic of the guy swinging the guy swinging the bat. You know, Troy has a very long swing. He hits the ball low. He golfs a lot. I cut the ball. Ernie hits the ball in the face. So, I mean, all those swings are going to add more stress to the bat. But, you know, when you hit the ball in the face, you’re creating more impact. You’re creating more inertia. And, um, you’re going to add more, you’re going to flex the bat a lot more as well. Overall, I thought the bat was really, really solid. I love the color scheme on it. It kind of give me that winter vibe. So, like we said, this is Christmas in July, man. I thought the bat was a great performer. Cut it very well. Hit 107 in the morning with it with it. That’s pretty solid. So, if you want to check these out, man, go over to onxaltball.com. Go over to eliteportsusa.net. You can use code chef on any one of those sites. You know, again, I would recommend if you’re getting this bat, probably maybe go down go down a little bit lighter on the weight because it does have a a very aggressive end load and they’re not shy about it. I mean, this bat is designed for a Hall of Famer. That’s Bryson Baker, man. All he do is throw his hands and let the bat do the work. So, I can imagine that he’s going to um put on a show with this thing, man. But hope you all enjoyed the video. Like I said, nothing but transparency. Um we thought the bat was great. But it is not a bat that we’re going to go out there and just be like, “Hey, that’s just 100 swings.” I’m telling you, if I’m gaming this bat, I’m only putting, let me put this out there. I do have senior bats that I game. And all my gamers that are in my bag has less than 50 swings. I don’t play often in a 40 over game. However, you know, I don’t take my bat and I’m gonna do another video where I’m gonna do the compression and everything like that, but I don’t take my bat and put 200 swings and say, “Okay, I’m going to game now.” I actually like my bat testing higher because I feel like I can cut or spin the ball better with a bat that has higher compression. Anyways, hope you enjoy the video. Don’t forget to click like, subscribe, and we’ll see you on the next one. Peace. [Music]
